Pros:

Got rid of acne (for the most part)
Makes skin smooth.

Cons:

Moderate to medium irritation.
If stopped use, acne comes back.
Stings.

It works. The only thing is, is that if you skip a day or night, SHAME on you. I went to a friends birthday party and we spent the night, and of course i didn't bring my medication. The next morning i had more acne. It came back. I say i had 4-5 new pimples come up. So you have to constantly use it. I don't know what would happen when you didnt have acne and you just didn't need this product anymore. I feel that your skin develops an "addiction", so to speak, to this product. But bottom line is, it works.

Cons:

over priced face soap it would be better you you to got to origins to get face product.
They will bill you for product that you did not ask for or want. event though you send back the product I was never refunded for the product 50.00. do not buy from this company. it is a rip off.

Pros:

Wonderfully inexpensive, when compared to department/health food store products. No animal products are used. Fits very well into skin care regimen.

Cons:

I can't think of one.

I have been using this product for over 5 years now, even though I do not have acne, and in fact have skin that many describe as flawless, but I think it stays that way because I've always used a scrub to slough off dead skin. I got started with the skin treatment because when I ordered the soap they sent me a free sample. I recommend it to everyone I know, whether they have acne or not, because for a gentle, natural skin treatment it cannot be beat.

Pros:

Made my skin so soft and smooth, all natural ingredients, personable company, sent lots of samples and answered email queries immediately

Cons:

Broke me out pretty bad, routine takes too long, expensive shipping to Canada

I wanted this to work so badly, and I probably could have used this longer than a month and been more patient (as he says sometimes it takes a big longer to work)... everything was going moderately okay, until the third week when I broke out worse than I ever had in my life. Maybe this was a supposed 'purge' but it kind of seemed like the routine (which involves washing, scrubbing with exfoliator, then scrubbing and washing with a wash cloth in the shower) was really irritating. So I quit after a month. Besides, I found that the whole routine in the shower every morning was just a pain in the butt and wasted all the hot water, and I felt that if this had worked, then I'd be committed for life and all the spontaneuity of my life would disappear forever.

Pros:

Works while you use it

Cons:

If you stop, it gets worse.
you have to stay inside a lot to avoid sunlight.
the benzyl peroxide makes your skin dry and itchy if you use too much..which is easy to do.

If you use it on a day to day basis and follow the instructions..it makes your skin smoother and healthier..but if you use too much of the 2nd step, then you're skin will get very dry and itchy. Also, if you stop using it it makes your acne worse..I used this for around 6 months and it made me feel a lot better about my acne, but after I stopped using it my acne became twice as bad then before I used Acnefree, and now I have horrible scars from the acne that came after stopping the use of this product. Also, it really makes your skin smoother, but it does not get rid of your acne..it slows it down significantly, but you will still have pimples.

Pros:

I notice a difference in about a week after using Pro Activ..

Cons:

Left my skin very dry.

Very, very, very bad product. Pro Activ statrted working but left my skin very dry. I bought the Proactiv from a mall so i received a great deal. I will never waiste my money again on proactiv. The only thing that is good is the refining mask only. i used the refining mask as a spot treatment. I went back to using Aveeno bar soap and Noxema since i received better results.

Pros:

Works well. First day my son's face turned red. We reduced the usage to only one day for a couple of weeks and it cleared up. Now he uses it twice a day.

Cons:

My 12 year old has gone through 2 bottles of the renewing toner before the first set up products are even gone yet. Can't get him to use less of this

Not worth the price if we keep running out of renewing toner.

Pros:

Clears skin, gets rid of oilyness does what it's suppose to do

Cons:

Drys out skin a little.. Not for people with dry skin.

I used this product a long time ago after my couse with accutane. It kept my skin clear and kept the oilyness at bay. Best product i've ever used. Dermatologest recommended it. I didn't have to worry about going to a skin doctor ever again. Over the years I strayed and my skin is no bueno. So now Iam back on the one product that has actually kept my skin under control. I will update when as time goes on. So those with dry skin do not use this cause it will dry you out. And those with oily skin this should do the trick in controlling the oily and keeping skin clear.

Pros:

at the beginig seems to work but later s like drog if you try it once you become part of it, they knew well what they were doing when they invented this product their purpose is to keep u addicted because when u stop it all comes back thats the truth

Cons:

I Started to use this product two years ago and every time that I stop using it comes back worse and worse now my skin its so peeled, and irritated, obviosly this is an adictive product and worse part is that you get premature ageing.

THINK TWISE O MORE THAN THAT THIS PRODUCT IS RUINING MY LIFE, AND IT CAN RUIN YOURS AS WELL, IM GOING TO GET HELP FROM A REAL PROFESIONAL DERMATOLOGIST, NOT ANYMORE FROM THIS SCAMERS PROFIT MAKING ORGANIZATION.

Pros:

Didnt see much change if any...

Cons:

Very expensive. Also... I ordered online and fell into the scam as well. They charge your credit card and don't tell you that they are going to. When I spoke to customer service they were very rude and tried calling me a liar.

I would not recommend this company or product.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
