Pros:

the first few days i used it i was soo impressed really thought my skin was clearing up,i would use it 2wice everyday and it worked pretty well...at first

Cons:

well after using it now for about a month really my face has went from moderate acne to clear and back to modeate then dry then looked like more acne was there then before i started i honestly believe its for ppl who use it everyday and every night

well honestly it aint worth all that money cuz it aint exactly what its cracked up to be neutragina is better in all aspects great product over proactive

Pros:

Clear my face up. Have beautiful skin and I get compliments alot.

Cons:

Try to stop using it for a while and my face broke out. My face is addicted to it and its hard to get off of it.

Very good product. YOu have to give it time to work on your face. It does dry my face so I use a different face lotion for my face after I wash my face with the proactive cleanser and everything seems fine. The only problem now is if i try to get off proactive, my face will break out.

Pros:

Only stuff that has fixed my acne.

Cons:

Takes a few months to work.

This stuff works for me! But take a few months until I see visible results. But hey that is a lot better then using clearasil and clean and clear. I used clearsil and clean and clear for ages, and never saw results in using there products, proactiv has actually given me completely clear skin. Meaning not a single zit on my face. I have suffer from bad acne. This stuff has been great for me, its worth the money.

Pros:

It has actually cleared my skin up nicely. I don't have extreme acne just a few things here and there and it works great on mi skin.

Cons:

It may not be for people with sensitive skin based on the other reviews.

It dries out oily skin and if you have naturally dry skin I would reccomend a different product.

Pros:

Makes my pores smaller, overall skin tone is improved, more eveness, doesn't break me out, I also wear it under make-up!

Cons:

Wish it came in a pump dispenser--it would be more hygenic

I buy this regularly throughout the winter, but it works great in the summer as well. Definitely worth the price! My holy grail of moisturizers!

Pros:

The AcneFree product worked very well on my back and cleared up my acne and made my pores smaller and not so oily.. But sadly it reactions on my face say otherwise! :( Use on back not face!

Cons:

This product burns the face, especially around the eyes.. It is making my whole face discolored and i looks like this product is giving me an allergic reaction! :(

Please..i wouldnt take the risk! I would so much rather have had the acne on my face them looking like my whole face is swollen! If you plan to use this product for your back or body.. i would recommend it.. but for the face, i wouldnt! The first day the product didnt really do much.. but by the second day it started burning and i thought it would go away.. then the third day my whole face feels like its on fire and is swollen and red :( I really think it is worth the few extra bucks to get proactive.. I also plan to go to the doctor..its seriously that bad of a reaction!

Pros:

very effective, affordable, no lingering smell, is of a gel substance so it dissolves into the skin quickly and easily

Cons:

may cause drying, but can be solved with lotion

Love it! I can't believe how well this product works! I used to have acne all over my face, but since using this product I've notice my acne disappearing overnight. Try it, it's definitely worth your time and money.

Pros:

It cleared up a few pimples overnight.

Cons:

It doesnt work on large amounts of acne. Which a lot of us have.

If you need a quick acne fix, use it. But if you have bad acne all over your face, choose a different product.

Pros:

none what so ever

Cons:

REALLY drying around the mouth hurt sooo bad after a few uses acne was worst and the skin around my mouth got darker it still is to this day....

dont bother to use it unless ur skin isnt sensitive

Pros:

Well it cleared up my acne and i do get one or two now and then but otherwise my face is pretty cleared.

Cons:

Dries out your skin if you don't moisturize.
Will break you out alot if you don't use it properly or skip a day.

You must use this as directed otherwise it wouldn't work. First after cleansing for a few days your skin will start to feel soft and smooth. But you will likely to breakout 2/3 weeks into the program. After that breakout phrase your skin will start to be clear up. The pimples and red marks will slowly fade away.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
