Pros:

clears blackheads

Cons:

continuous IB even after 3 months

started with some pustules, ended up with pustules , milias, and whiteheads. i was very hopeful that i persist on minimum 3 months, but it keeps getting worse. maybe just not my cup of tea.

Pros:

Been using it a week, and just got the comment "hey you used to have bumps under your skin, they are disappearing" so far so good.

Cons:

don't know the side effects of the the chemicals in my blood stream.
Skin around my ears are peeling like crazy and itchy

I think the tube will last me a good three to four months so will write back after that, but so far so good.

Pros:

Absolutely nothing

Cons:

made my breakouts worse, my face got incredibly irritated

I would never recommend this product to anybody. I've been using it for months and my acne is worse. I was hoping that this would be the product that finally worked, but it failed.n

Pros:

it kinda works, got rid of all my blackheads

Cons:

drying at first makes skin peel

it seemed to stop working after the peeling subsided, i use it off and on, usually works best 1-2 weeks after a chemical peel
May 20, 2009

Pros:

It did not smell or make my skin peel

Cons:

Pretty much everything else

It drew out all the pimples .. but it never made them disappear. My doctor was expecting all the pimples to come and the skin to eventually peel (thus, renewing the acne-affected skin), but this medicine just delivered all the blows and never redeemed itself. I eventually switched to this new medicine (Atralin - Tretinoin 0.05%) which eventually treated my acne.

Pros:

-No Odor
-Cost

Cons:

-Made skin more sensitive
-Took a long time to do absolutly nothin

I wouldnt waste my time with this product because it doesnt give you the results you hope for, and can actually make it worse

Pros:

It sometimes works. Once, I popped a pimple and right after, I put the Differin on and the next morning the pimple was flat.

Cons:

Sometimes it doesn't work.

Its just a matter of luck...

Pros:

IT WORKS!!
I got it for free by using a Differin coupon through my dermatologist! Ask for samples!

Cons:

It takes about 6 months to a year to see full results. Acne starts getting better in 3 months.
It is expensive. It costs $250.00 a tube for the new 3% dose. Ask your dermatologist to help you out with samples. Mine gives me a new box everytime I

It will make your acne WORSE during the first months. That is SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!! It's clearing the skin of the bacteria you have underneath the skin. Basically you get all the pimples that would have formed if you hadn't used the product. It does make your skin sensitive to light so wear a SUNSCREEN and don't expose your skin to the sun. It does sting but if it's too much use it every other night. Keep using it and Don't give up too soon!!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
