Pros:

I used this a few years ago, then didnt refill the bottle until just now (I'm lazy). Last night it cleared up little pimples that Ive had on my chin for months! It's so light and clean feeling. Works fast and effectively

Cons:

can be pricey but for me its worth it

its worked great for me every time I've used it. Ive tried lots of other acne products that are heavy on the skin and dont feel clean. I dont feel like im doing a disservice to my skin by using this product. It doesnt dry me out or cause any irritation. It isnt effective on all kinds of acne but for all those little annoying bumps that werent quite pimples but werent going away it worked wonders. Id definitely recommend that you give this a try.

Pros:

its really light and easy to use.

Cons:

its dries out your face after a few minutes but if you just use some deep eucerin cream then youll be fine

It definately works for me, I have been using it with benzamycin and it has cleared up my skin maginificatly. best thing i have ever used.

Pros:

It is easy to put on. You don't need much so a bottle last a long time. It doesn't leave any stains of any sort.

Cons:

Not easy to apply to the back area if needed.
I went in the sun without enough sunscreen. Normally having strong skin, I was entirely burned and looked as if I had alligator skin.

The medication did help though didn't make my skin entirely clean. As Diane (birth control) clears my skin entirely I decided to just stick to Diane instead.

Pros:

none

Cons:

My skin before using Differin was not so oily. After 4 months of applying Differin, my face was very shining and extremely oily and as a reuslt I was breaking our permamently.

I decided to quit bc the longer I used Differin the worse my acne became. In addition, I got acne albidum which I have never had before! This topical drug is definately not for me, I left with resistant scars, clogged pores and horrible, inflammed pimples, my skin got crazy after that! It is was waste of time and money.

Pros:

Didn't have any horrible outbreaks.

Cons:

Made my skin red, oily and clogged my pores.

While I didn't have any terrible outbreaks while using this, it made my skin look terrible. In fact, I was just as self-conscious about my skin while using this product as I was when I had significant outbreaks. Everyone's skin is different, so I'm sure this works for some people, but if you find your skin oily and red after using it, stop now. I kept at it for months before switching to another product--don't make that mistake.

Pros:

Eay to use

Cons:

First month red peeling skin qute un comfotable>

I have used differin for 4 months. I had deep blackheads and pimples didnt look too bad, but up close was noticable.Still have break outs but my doctor said it could take up to 6 months for my skin to get everything out.So will have to see.

Pros:

I can't think of any other than that you feel safer using it, so you know you are doing something about your acne.

Cons:

I usually apply to my whole face, but I find if I put it in a spot where I have no pimples.. I'll get them. It takes a long time to work, if it does at all.

I'll be changing from it very soon because I've been using for quite a few months now thinking I should wait a little longer, but it is just not working.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
