Pros:

I take one 50mg caplet right before bed because it makes me feel sick. When I wake up my face is not red anymore, I'm loving that. It's
helped.

Cons:

Just that it makes me feel sick

I wish I knew about this before.

Pros:

My skin does not hurt anymore! I RARELY have a new breakout in the morning when I am consistant!

Cons:

If I dont take it with food, It can make me feel sick/dizzy, and I might get a couple new zits.

I take two 50mg of zinc every day, one early in the day one in the evening! I take them along with flaxseed oil pills! My skin is so much better, I am now treating my scaring with Mederma!

Pros:

I read the reviews and decided to try it. I have been using it for about a week, along with other prescribed medications. I have noticed a reduction in inflammation, which is a HUGE issue for me.

Cons:

I take with food, so I have had no cons

I use this along with my prescriptions. I have been on my prescriptions for quite a while, and in the last day or two, I have noticed a decrease in redness and inflammation. I do not think this would work by itself, but I do think it helps.

Pros:

As effective as antibiotics without the side effects, very affordable.

Cons:

May cause nausea.

Zinc Picolinate has been the most effective acne treatment for me. Thank God I learned about it! I usually get these large, inflammed acne every now and then. I 1st learned about Zinc from my best friend's brother, who swears by its effectiveness. He takes Solgar Zinc Gluconate from Healthy Options. Since I am a Gold member of GNC, I first bought GNC Zinc Gluconate 50mg and took it once a day for 3 months. Sadly, I didn't see any improvement on my skin while taking it. After a few months, I decided to try Zinc again. This time, I bought Zinc Picolinate 30mg with 2mg Copper, also from GNC. I took it once a day and saw slight improvement on my skin for the 1st month. On my 2nd month I decided to take it 2x a day (once in the morning and once again in the evening) & my skin has been clear with ZERO acne for a month! After I finished all the tablets I wasn't able to buy another jar immediately and I instantly had 3 huge pimples in just a week. Now I'm sure Zinc Picolinate is

Cons:

I take it in the morning before I go to school and if I dont eat anything I feel like im going to throw up but I never have.

Helps helps

I have to say this, I can’t be more happier and excited that I don’t have active acne anymore.

What I’m taking daily is:

Probiotic acidophilus

Zinc chelate  30mg

Biotin

vitamin A 2,500

benzoyl peroxide Cream - sometimes (I don’t want my skin dry anymore)

moisturizer (olay)

I wanted to take vitamin D but since is summer I’m going to try to expose my skin for at least 15-20 mins daily so my cells can produce it.

I’m going to start trying to get rid of my red spots and scars. My plan is micro-needling, maybe a chemical peel with TCA at 13% and  maybe some glycolic acid but is low percentages.

I wish I knew about zinc earlier

I started taking zinc supplements three months ago and it's made the single biggest difference for my acne. I am also using a 2% liquid BHA and benzoyl peroxide still just in case, but there's no more weekly battle of knowing something is coming up and using products for damage control.

Zinc reduces keratin so it keeps pores open. It kills bacteria, reduces inflammation, and lowers androgens. It's not water soluble though so don't take more than 40mg a day. I'm taking 25mg pills daily after a meal.

Zinc picolinate, zinc citrate, and zinc orotate are the kinds most easily absorbed.
