Pros:

NONE

Cons:

Gave me stevens-johnson syndrome, scariest experience of my life! i have never had drug allergies so I did not know what to think in the beginning. If this is an allergy you do not know you have this is how it works... The first day you take it you are fine- the second time your body develops IGE antibodies to make your body think something is attacking it, The comes the flu like symptoms---aches, terrible immobilizing pains, joint stiffness sharp pain, headaches, high fevers 102+ hives

cont... HIVES red bumps everywhere, itchy eyes, stomach cramping, nausea, diarrhea, weakness, shortness of breath. Even after I stopped taking it , it took over 5 days for the disgusting rash to even begin to disapear. Id rather have zits than die!

Pros:

Cleared my acne but not all the way for like a month or 2. If this is the one i took.. It was like sorta big white and powdert chalky pill..

Cons:

None that i remember except for the fact that it stopped working after my acne became resistant to it...

By the grace of God i have not had to pay for these prescriptions because they were covered by insurance..

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Large pill
Made me very tired
Did nothing for my acne

I took this pill 2x a day for 1 month. It did absolutely nothing for my acne. I still had just as many acne breakouts while taking the drug. The only good thing is I didn't have an allergic reaction to the sulfur in the drug. I guess I am one of those people who it just doesn't work for, which sucks because I was really hoping it would have worked. I wanted the same results as so many people on this site had. If it works for you, great! If it doesn't it's a waste of time. Luckily I have insurance so it was free to take for me.

Pros:

Face started clearing after a couple weeks
Cheap

Cons:

Horrilbe headache and body aches.
Fatigue
Flu-like Symptoms
loss of appetite (maybe not such a bad thing ;)

I was taking 2 bactrim pills a day. During the 3rd week I thought I was coming down with a bad cold or the flu. I had horrible joint aches and a horrible headache. After the 3rd day of feeling like this I thought it was odd those were my only symptoms. No cough, throwing up, stomach ache, etc. I called the local pharm. and she told me to stop taking the bactrim. When I went to my derm the following monday he sd I was allergic to it. I didn't think these symptoms would mean it was an allergic reaction? But I guess its better to assume that then be sorry. It was miserable though there was one night I couldn't even get out of bed because my head and body ached so bad! I guess there is no proof it was the bactrim, but I felt better as soon as I stopped taking it and I probably won't try it again. My body just didn't react well to it at all.

Pros:

None really

Cons:

saw very little improvment
breaking out after first month

i don't get it with this antibiotic. i was taking monocycline for 2 months and was about 85% clear, but this drug is only making me 50% clear, if even that. I never had a rash or reaction to this drug nor did i ever really get better. First few weeks of this drug were fine i guess, not really any new pimples, but it never got better; it's been getting worse. Now i have to result to accutaine or back to monocycline to not be embarrassed to go in public. I wish this drug worked for me like it did for other people, but it's a serious let down. It's not even perticularly meant for acne, some urinary sh*t; very sad going to Coachella with a volcano face

Pros:

None, except it was cheap. Wish I could give it a negative "1".

Cons:

Hives/rash. Fever. Coughing. Shortness of breath. Headache. Nausea.

I had a severe allergic reaction to this antibiotic. I ran a fever for 5 days and on the 5th day broke out in a horrible rash from head to toe! Once the fever broke I began to feel the extreme itchiness of the rash. I was in agony for next 48 hours. No sleep and no relief. Finally doc got me on Medrol dose pack to calm it down. This was so unusual because I'm one of those people that can take any kind of medicine, eat anything, drink anything, without any problem at all. Well not anymore! Next step is Accutane I guess. I've maxed out all the antibiotic options (Doryx, Solodyne, Oracea). Wish me luck!

Pros:

none

Cons:

chills, painful back, neck all muscles, low grade fever, eyes cannot focus, painful eyes, rashes, internal pins and needles itching, insomnia, sleepiness with insomnia, lethargic, indifference-no mood, just blahh. Constant headache, pills are too big and get stuck in my throat.

I'm allergic. Almost rushed to ER. Nurse told me to keep taking it while doctor said to stop taking it. I just stopped taking it after the 5th day and on to the 8th day, still had painful body joints, back, neck, headache for 2 days straight, everything I mentioned above plus a rash that lasted a week even after I stopped so I had to take Claritin and a corticosteroid. Worst drug I have ever tried. Illegal/banned drug in the UK, I wonder why. Some doctors acted surprised at my condition when I read so many online with my same allergic reaction, they are awful, you must self diagnose.
