Pros:

Spot Treatment

Cons:

*post inflammatory hyper pigmentation
*scars

Hi, I have light brownish skin. I was getting desperate to clear my face. I have tried every prescription from my dermatologist, and nothing had ever worked. I stumbled across this site and choose to use the kit from acne.org. I used it exactly how he instructs us for 3 whole months. The first month, I had the worse acne of my life. The breakouts and flare ups were beyond tolerable. By the end of the third month, I have developed horrible scars and hyper pigmentation on my cheeks from where the cystic acne is. I am not sure if this works on Caucasian skin, but it certainly did not work for me. My face looks like a bloody hell right now, which is the sole result of this acne.org kit. I am writing this review because I do not want others to experience what has happened to me. I followed the procedure religiously and now I am left with indents all over my cheeks. PLEASE PLEASE read this review before purchasing. If you still think that the product will work for you, be my guest and purchase it. I went back to my dermatologist and he said putting on that much benzoyl peroxide, as directed, lead to my face scarring. Now, I am using Retin A Micro to help alleviate my scars and hopefully in the next couple of months my scars will diminish.

Pros:

Good quantity

Cons:

Dries out

Didn't work for me

After reading all the good eviews, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, this product was over drying my face and I received no result within 3 months. I now have a very very dry skin with as many as pimples as before. I happy to see that it worked for other people but in my own case, it didn't.

Pros:

Nice size bottles

Cons:

Unfortunately it did not work for me.
I did not like slathering on the cream :shudder: or waiting for it to dry before applying my makeup.

My face felt really dry after using this. I also did not like slathering on the cream. I hated waiting the 10-20 min for the cream to dry before being able to put my makeup on.

Pros:

-it temporarily cleared my acne..

Cons:

-horrible side effects as in;
-constant redness, facial hotness
-disgustingly constant dry skin
-VERY TIGHT FACE
-gave me more redmarks
-MY SKIN TEXTURE WAS HORRIBLE..
-i had very high hopes

I was on DKR regimen for about 9 weeks. my acne cleared up, it was amazing, i thought this bp was the sh*t! (as in being good.) but the side effects sadly outweighed the pros.. my young skin turned into this horrible texture thats between leathery and fish scaley? it was disgusting, i looked about 57..and it sucked where the BP gave me so many redmarks i am COVERED in redmarks and ice pick scars..i'm the type of person where i would do ANYTHING for clear skin, but being on the bp made my face so damn tight i could not SMILE FOR WEEKS, it was hard to eat, i became depressed. the flakiness was UNBAREABLE. my chin looked like a moustache with the countless number of flakes. don't get me wrong, i used jojoba oil, i used moisterizer, yet the flakes still came. i tried everything with this bp and the DKR regimen...using less then slowly adding more, then using less, and the side effects were so HORRIBLE i HADDD HAD HAD to quit this regimen.... about a day after stopping the BP my skin looked fantastic, i was beginning to have my life back!....but then not using the regimen and BP, my skin broke out horribly, it's at it's worst currently..i am so hopeless i have no choices left but Accutane. My journey is just beginning with Accutane, I hope i'm not let down (I know I won't be.) My word of advice, Please. Please do not use BP it will screw your skin up, please i don't want anyone to go through the hell I had to go through. Do some research on Accutane, it will save your motherf**king life.

Pros:

?? Have not experienced any, and have now switched to a different system to see if things change

Cons:

See below

This didnt seem too bad the first few days, but nothing got any better either. The things I experienced were 1) extreme dryness of skin 2) VERY tedious to apply, takes a long time to soak in, and makes it almost impossible for a moisturizer to soak in on top 3) moisturizer (almost any moisturizer) would burn when applied over the BP 4) no clearing of skin, didnt really make it any worse either other than the drying, flaking, peeling, and redness 5) because of the drying, it was also impossible to wear any makeup without looking like an alligator 6)even after 3 months, nothing changed. I was religious - gentle 10 second wash, pat dry, 2 pumps treatment, moisturize twice a day. 7) upon quitting and switching to a less harsh treatment, at the very least my skin is no longer flaky, dry, and irritated. My acne is still not gone, but better than it was on Acne.org regimen. If you are interested, I have switched to Carley's clear and smooth, which seems to be working ok, but not completely clearing me yet. At lease it doesnt take long and isnt hurting my skin more.

Pros:

Not sure...

Cons:

Takes forever to rub in
Dries out skin
Caused cystic acne?

Active ingredient: 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Also Contains: Water, Butylene Glycol*, Carbomer*, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Diazolidinyl Urea*, Sodium Hydroxide. *These ingredients made Whole Foods' "Unacceptable List for Premium Body Care" which means any products that include these ingredients are not recommended for skincare and anything containing these ingredients will not be sold at any Whole Food stores. - Butylene Glycol is in the "Dirty Dozen" - the absolutely most toxic and you will hear in the coming years avoid all things with this! I hope this, above all ingredients, is changed in this product's formulation! - Diazolidinyl urea is a preservative with the potential to release formaldehyde in very small amounts and is a primary cause of contact dermatitis. - Carbomer comes from petroleum and gives viscosity to skincare products. It's highly processed its manufacturing creates toxic by-products. ----- I don't think this is working for me. I've been using it for 2 months now and haven't really seen a considerable difference in my skin. I have had 3 cystic breakouts during this time. The last time I had a cystic breakout was in high school, about 8 years ago. Breakouts still happen with normal frequency and my blackheads are as bad as they were before starting this product. I wasn't expecting a miracle, but reading the reviews had me thinking that I would at least see some kind of improvement. The biggest downside to this is how dry my skin is. If I smile, my skin literally cracks and begins to flake - NOT attractive. Dan says not to use a washcloth but gee, am I supposed to run around town looking like a leper? I was forced to use some gentle exfoliation to work off some of the dead skin. Frankly, I feel like dead skin sitting in top of your pores would exacerbate acne, not help it. I'm so glad this worked for other people - it did not work for me.

Pros:

nice consistency-no odor.

Cons:

burned my skin, leaving painful red rashes.

unfortunately i didn't have the success of others. when i first got it I followed the directions, initially it irritated me a bit but I expected that and kept using it in hopes of it getting better. now if i use it it causes really bad red burning on my skin, that takes days to heal. I can use the cleanser but not the peroxide treatment. for people with hyper sensitive skin this product may be too harsh. I feel frustrated that I spent so much money on these products to have such a bad reaction.

Pros:

Easy to Apply
Went on Clear
Large, inexpensive supply

Cons:

Made Acne Worse
Can be very drying

I am disappointed to have to write a bad review. I've used this product for nearly four months now, but have had to stop altogether at this point as my face is worse than it has ever been. Everything started out great. I've historically suffered from moderate acne on my forehead, chin, and under my jaw line which gets very bad when stressed or hormonal fluctuation. After a particularly bad breakout that left a nasty scar, I tried this product and the regimen. I thought I had found the answer to my woes since it initially worked great! Within just a couple of weeks, I had no new breakouts and my scars were actually fading and any bumps I had were shrinking. Well, after two months I started to notice that I was getting new bumps in places that I had never really gotten them before, but they were small and were not coming to a head at all. This seemed better to me than having huge, pus-filled pimples, so I charged on with using the product. Unfortunately, the bumps just started to increase in numbers until my entire face is now covered with them everywhere this product has touched. I had been slathering it all over my face and halfway down my neck to ensure I covered any area where I had previously gotten pimples. I now have bumps everywhere on my face including in my eyebrows and behind my ears. I can't even believe how bad it is. I stopped using the product one week ago and every bump on my face is now growing and coming to a head. It's so upsetting, but it seems to be a process I need to go through in order to '˜cleanse' my skin from this product. I also just don't know what else to do but watch it happen. I'm washing my face twice daily with nothing but water at this point since I'm afraid to put anything on my face at all. I just hope I can get back to where I was before using this product at all and this new acne covered face is not permanent.

Pros:

none

Cons:

Left me with acne scars on both sides of my cheeks and chin noticeable dark marks which had disappeared after using proactiv.

I went a head and bought the treatment thinking it would dry up the pimples, but after using it for a month my skin was peeling horrendously on both sides of my cheeks, because of the strong bp; and i got dark dried patches on each side. Thinking those dark dry spots would good away, i continued using the bp but the dry patches left(a lot) of small specs of dark reddish scars which i did not have before starting the regimen now i have to deal with the scars how great!
