Unsure
So I have been struggling with mild acne for over three years now. I should consider myself lucky/blessed to only be mild acne there is much worse out there, but having it constantly and waking up everyday with two or more new pimples really can begin to take digs at your self-confidence and self-esteem - which I now have none. I have tried a quite a few over the counter remedies, home remedies, pill and even acne tablets but NOTHING has worked! I had come across acne.org before but was skeptical about buying online - about three-four weeks ago I caved in and ordered, I was desperate! So far, I can report that I am still waking up every day with new pimples.. my scarring /marks are deeper and darker then what they were prior to this treatment (once again effecting my self-esteem), and my face is still EXTREMELY DRY. I always wear make-up when I am out and about, and even then my confidence is non-existent because by the end of the day it is gross, dry and crinkly - but still its better in my mind's eye then walking around with my acne on full display. My acne affects my social life as well.. I've made excuses to cancel events because of my skin - it ruins my life. I will still with this treatement... I might order another 80z... but if I don't see any more improvements I will give it a toss. I am hopeful that soon it will help my skin but as for now I still suffer. Hope this helps.

Prefer Proactiv + Pore Targeting Treatment
Tried this a few times because I got a free travel kit with my AHA purchase. This treatment feels very grainy compared to my Proactive + treatment. The Proactive + BP treatment is very smooth. With that said, I'm not knocking the effectiveness of this product. I'm sure it works just fine, but I can't switch from something that goes on smooth to something that feels like I'm rubbing liquid sand on my face.

Pros:

Worked at first

Cons:

Super drying
Redness
Felt like my face was burning off

So after giving The Regimen a fair 3 month trial I can honestly say it did not work for me. At first it seemed like it did, then of course there was the bad breakout.. Ever since then I've been waiting for it to get better.. It hasn't. It went from my cheeks and chin, to my forehead and neck. I've gotten more cystic acne while on the regimen then ever before. It's super painful and I was so bummed to find out this is just another product on my list of stuff that just didn't work..

Pros:

- Controls acne by 98%
- Smooth texture of skin if used with AHA every night (skin glows sometimes)
- Reduces oiliness
- Eliminate blackheads specially on nose

Cons:

- Getting scars with every single pimple (you do get 1 or 2 pimples every month) after some time of use. My skin was terribly uneven after a year
- Always a dark reddish tone to skin
- Could not wear foundation or makeup
- The dark marks just would not go away, even after a year
- Applying so much gel twice a day is tedious
- Sometime even with AHA my skins got so dry, I could not laugh properly
- I started to get cysts I never had before. Now that I stopped BP, wont get any.

The main downside of this gel to me, was scars after every single pimple. I DID NOT used to get any scars before. Now that I've stopped using it for about a year,I wont get those shallow scars anymore and it took a year for them to go away. Another problem was the hyper-pigmentation, for some reason they were more resistant than usual while on Dan's BP. To prove this to myself I applied the gel a couple of times to my chest acne. Yep, the H-pigmentation left behind was darker and more resistant than usual. Unfortunately I had to stop using this gel after getting a good control over my acne. I wish I could continue using it. I just thought I share my experience with every one, specially with those who think they are at the early stages of experiencing scars and are worried about the marks on their face, so the good news is you wont need any laser treatment or anything, they both will fade over time after you stop using BP gel...but if you're not worried about scars ...then carry on, because it the best stuff to control acne

Pros:

Can help clear skin for some, but not for me.

Cons:

-I didn't see much improvement in my acne
-Burned my skin when I applied 2/3 of my finger

I have more sensitive skin but I thought it would still be okay since some people with sensitive skin were able to use 10% b.p. with some success. I wanted to be on the safe side and only bought the 2 oz just to try it out. The first few days were fine, no burning as I gradually increased the dosage of the b.p. for my face. However when I got up to 2/3 of my finger, my face started to burn so bad. I washed it off immediately, but it still didn't feel much better. It was only after I rubbed some aloe on that I felt better. This product wasn't for me. I would recommend for someone who isn't sensitive to benzoyl peroxide

Gave me horrible cystic acne!
I really wanted to like this product unfortunately it gave me huge cystic acne. After about 3 weeks of using this product I started to break out so badly on my cheeks and it got progressively worse. Now I'm left with pitted scars =/

Pros:

Does get rid of acne.

Cons:

Used as directed, dries skin out to a frightening degree and caused scarring on both my cheeks.

This product will get rid of acne, but be warned, I've had acne for years and never has such a problem with hyperpigmentation and I've never had pitted scars. After a month of using the regimen religiously, I saw what was happening to my skin and had to quit. I didn't even think I was prone to pitted scars, but this product dried and thinned out my skin and caused them.

Suddenly stopped working

I was a very happy user of this product for 3 years. It cleared my skin completely. However, for whatever reason now it causes me to break out. I thought maybe I was using too much and tried using every other day, but it still caused my skin to dry and gave me deep pimples and my skin wouldn't adjust to it. I read some other reviews that this happened to them once they ordered a new product once theirs ran out (ordered in Sept 2020). This is what I did so I am not sure if I got a bad product or it changed. I will be trying a different Benzoyl Peroxide treatment from a different brand.

BP seems different

I used to love this product for it’s simplicity. The last bottle I purchased had a weird plastic odor and feels much more irritating on my skin. When I reach out about this problem I was sent a replacement bottle but the replacement also had the strange smell and felt slightly irritating on my skin. They said the ingredients haven’t changed. I’m wondering if there was a bad batch or something of the big size? I will purchase the smaller tube once more and see if it still has the weird smell. I’m very sad about this because I genuinely love this product normally.

Make my skin red, itchy and sensitive
I know most of you here have got good results from BP but I have to say it gave me hives. I had to go to a doctor and get an anti allergy.
