FYI I'm sorry if this post is long and rambling with grammatical errors and whatnot. I literally have never written a review for ANYTHING in my life but I'm so upset that I feel the need to post my thoughts. I'm a 21 year old female of asian-american descent and I usually have a couple of small white heads on my forehead or chin, clogged pores around my nose and chin, and like one or two cystic zits a week if that matters to anyone reading. I know it doesn't sound that bad and many people have problems way bigger than that but thats not the point of this post! I was using the regimen for 6 month and it cleared most of my acne and even faded my scarring from my zits. BUT now that I've been using it for 6 months my skin is not the same as it used to be even with acne. I've developed a reaction. MY FACE always feels raw and irritated thanks to the Benzoyl Peroxide treatment that used to work for me. And the moisturizer doesn't make up for the fact that the BP is literally chemical burning my skin. I always have flakey dry spots in at least one place, usually where I used the bp for a zit. When I put it on it somehow contaminates the rest of my face and even my neck which has caused my eyes to swell up and now I have red patches of itchy irritated skin around my nostrils, chin, and the creases of my eyes and even my neck! The fine lines of my eyes are... the fine lines of my eyes!!! I've NEVER had fine lines under my eyes before this reaction! What the hELL?! lol. It's not worth using this chemical on my face to get rid of the zits. At this point I'd rather have the pimples because my face hurts and itches all the time and I don't even know when it will ever be back to normal, meaning when will my face ever stop HURTING?! Also, I've read that bp can thin your skin out and thin out the protective layer on the top of your skin as well which is pretty freaking scary to me since I want to protect my skin for the long haul and prevent any premature aging. All the while I had thought "Wow, 'BP oxygenates the skin' BP ROCKS!" I never did any research until now... stupid I know! So from now on I've decided that I'm going to try and eat better (more fruits and veggies, less dairy and junk food), drink more water, get more sleep, reduce my stress somehow, and use some AHA to help with my acne along with basic cleansing and moisturizing. And maybe one day I can even cut out my need to cover the red splotches and burns with tons of make up after Ive healed my skin from these side effects. ON top of all this physical irritation to my skin, I feel bad about myself because I don't feel confident about my face. I have a job as a greeter and as a barista at a coffee shop and some days I just want to hide from people or even cancel plans with friends! (YES I've canceled plans because I couldn't come to terms with my face lol) Im sure I don't have to mention how bad skin can make a person feel horrible and ugly. ANYWAY! Here are some things I've learned along my 6 month journey: Using bp has fairly rid my face of pimples and zits but has not "cleared my skin" by any means Using bp every couple of days doesn't make any difference in my reactions I've moisturized my face before bp to protect my skin from where I don't want it to go but that doesn't prevent cross contamination to the irritated areas I always wait for it to dry! yes I've followed the directions! I've ruined every towel in the house and my mom is angry with me for that one hahaha :( Even using very small amounts doesn't prevent my eyes from swelling up after using it I would have reconsidered using the bp if I had researched it beforehand I should be fighting the root cause of my acne not the acne itself. BP is to skin as is weed killer to grass... kills the weed but also the whole patch of grass I do like the AHA! And lastly, I'm angry and upset because I thought I had really found something that worked for me. If anyone want pictures of my face, god forbid someone really is that curious lol, I can email them. Thanks for reading.

Pros:

works.
really.
it really works.

Cons:

but it takes a lot of work.
bleaches clothes.

Accutane is often referred to as a "last resort" acne treatment and the reasons for this are obvious. It's a systemic drug with tons of nasty side effects, not the least of which is a probable and probably scarring initial breakout, and it generally takes half a year before anybody on Accutane has skin worth looking at. The Regimen is a last resort of a different kind. It has no side effects whatsoever, really, and it's not going to scar you up. You'll have great skin within 8 weeks, probably, and then breakouts will be, at worst, very very rare. But it takes so much work. If you're on the Regimen, you have to be the kind of person for whom acne really is a life-ruining problem. And if you are then bully. If you're the kind of person who has nightmares about new zits, who when broken out just stays in and sulks, or who with one pimple will think EVERYONE CAN SEE HOW UGLY I AM, then I strongly encourage you to try the Regimen. Because odds are it will clear you right up and you can feel good. But you need to put in a lot of effort. If you stay in the sun too long it will make your skin peel like nobody's business. ANYTHING you're likely to touch, e.g. pants or your friends' pillows, will get bleach splotches. And if you don't apply the treatment every 12 hrs then it won't be as effective. And think about that. The average person is awake for 15-18 hrs. That means, instead of when you wake up and when you go to bed, the Regimen has you applying treatment when you wake up and then in the middle of your friends' dinner party. Or what have you. I can't tell you how obsessed I became with the Regimen--it was something I was thinking about, a cycle I was in, all the time. It became the central force in my life, which was a misery. So why is the Regimen a last resort? Because it's hard, it's so hard, to live with the Regimen. What I want from a treatment is something I can do at night, do in the morning, and then

swelling face
Hi I am on my second week of this regimen, I read that is normal to have flaky, itchy , stingy, and redness but I am getting scared and wants to give up now because when I woke up this morning it looks like my eyes is really puffy and I am always avoiding around my eye area when I apply bp, even my whole face is really dark I donk know if you call that redness but my face is really itchy and I notice a little swollen I am not sure if that is still normal. Please respond to this anybody out there who experienced this. Now I am thinking of stopping the regimen. I am doing it 2x a day and it is not much but it is very uncomfortable feeling I am experiencing right now...... PLEASE ADVISE.....by the way my acne is better I can say it really helped a lot i am only on my 10th day but the acne is almost gone I have only about 2 right now and it looks like it'shealing but my main concern is the puffiness and redness . is it ok to stop the bp and just use moisturizer and jojoba? I am giving 3 star for now because it is too early yet but when it comes to curing the acne I am for sure it works...

I'm on 1st week of regime. My eyes are puffy swollen and my eyesight is blurred and I haven't used the BP around eye area. I think I'll stop BP for now and keep an eye on the moisturiser to see if that's also contributing

Pros:

-Less burning than higher BP levels you find in drugstore products
-Prevents new cysts from forming on my jawline
-Any zits that do get through because of stress or hormones never get very big and go away within a couple of days
-A lot of product

Cons:

-Flakiness (way less than drugstore BP, though)
-Stains clothes (as does all BP)

I started following the regimen about a year ago and cleared up my acne using drugstore products with five or ten percent BP, which burn like crazy. I switched to two percent but could only find it in tiny little tubes, so when I ran out of my last little tube of drugstore BP I decided to order the Acne.org version. It's great - it goes on smoothly, clear, and wears well under makeup as long as I use plenty of my Cetaphil moisturizer to combat flakiness. I actually only use the treatment once per day, at night, unless I feel the familiar 'twinge' of a cyst about to pop up (I tend to get big, painful ones on my jawline that last for weeks). When I feel one coming up I start using this twice per day and it keeps them from developing and flaring up. I haven't had a cyst like that in months. This product does what it's supposed to do. As with all BP, this can bleach fabric, so I recommend getting white sheets and towels or just towels that you don't mind bleaching. It's part of the lifestyle and a small price to pay for clear skin.

Pros:

dries out pimples
goes on clear

Cons:

dries out skin

it helps but it really dries out your skin if you don't use it carefully. I suggest you start off by only using it once every night or once every other day. It is worth a try so give it a shot : )

Pros:

BP stops cystic acne in its tracks. Tube is a nice size - Lasts over a month with the regimen.

Cons:

This stuff takes forever to dry - It's fairly watery. Other products dry much faster. On average this takes me about 13 minutes to dry. Oh, and "Clear Skin Regimen" is damn misleading, because I'm far from clear.

It takes a little while for your skin to adjust to this stuff. It seems to have worked for so many people, not me. My forehead especially can't shake these whiteheads. No I'm not using harsh products and yes I wash my face well before applying this stuff twice a day. I have fairly moderate acne. I'd recommend Benzaclin over this stuff any day. It contains 10% BP but is less irritating than this stuff. Strange, huh? So many people say the regimen works like a miracle product. I disagree and feel like I've wasted several months. Yes I followed the steps correctly and no it didn't work. I came in this regimen optimistic, and now I'm leaving it.

Pros:

Helps acne, cheapest BP treatment around, good pump, lasts long

Cons:

I've stained MANY brand new towels and a couple Ralph Lauren shirts :*( However, not all towels stain, oddly. If anyone can figure out why some do and others don't, I'd love to know!

It makes my eyes burn really bad. I usually keep my eyes tightly shut for a couple minutes after applying.

Shipping/Handing is unfortunate due to the weight of the 16oz bottle. If you have a friend who uses this, I suppose you and your friend can order together to save $.

I'm a 25-year old female with light to moderate acne, mostly hormonally caused, and fairly oily skin. I use to apply The Treatment in the AM + PM, but because A) I've stained so many towels and shirts even though I wash my hands thoroughly, and B) My acne is pretty well managed with 1x/day's application, I just use it at night now. On bad days I use it in the AM as well. It's lasted me +6 months (I stopped counting after 6) using it just 1x per day. Even with all the cons, I still recommend The Treatment because for me, it's been the only thing that works (aside from cutting chocolate and candies from my diet!). I have been using it for 2 years.

Help with using BP
I've been using this regimen for 3 weeks now. The BP really helped with my oily t-zone; but it really broke me out in my chin area. I get cystic acne pimples and I have 8 on my chin. I'm so disappointed and upset. I'm not sure if I should continue with this regimen. I have not added in the AHA yet I'm kinda scared. Not sure what to do. I've never had this much breakout at one time before. I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks and I'm really upset and nervous about my face. Please help?????

Hey! This is normal, your skin is just going through the normal purging stage. All the trapped acne is coming to its surface. Continue using the regimen, it will all clear up within the next few weeks. The key is to stick with it no matter what. The same thing happened to me, it is discouraging at first but I promise this regimen is amazing with consistency! hope this helped

Pros:

doesn't dry out skin
Is easy to apply unlike 10% BP treatments which don't spread on skin as easily
Great value - the 8 oz. tube lasts me about 4 months!
Short adjustment time for new users - only took about a week for my skin to be used to it.

Cons:

not many! after years of struggling with acne, I finally found the perfect solution!
1 con - you can't miss an application, or there will be flare ups. You really have to apply morning and night, carefully.

This is the easiest, most cost effective treatment system I've ever come across. stop going to dermatologists, they are essentially giving you this product at a jacked up price. I've been struggling with acne for years and finally at around 22, I discovered this product. My regimen: I use Neutrogena Salicylic adic face wash every day, morning and night, followed by this acne.org treatment, and usually some moisturizer over top. That's it! And my skin is clear and beautiful. You can't miss a day, though, the treatment really acts as a shield for me at least. If I don't apply morning and night, I'll have problems the next day. Oh well, I'm willing to stick to it because I'm so fed up with my problem skin! Can't recomend enough, I've been using for 2 years and will continue for years to come!
