I used this for THREE YEARS and it RUINED my skin!
As a young teen, I really didn't know any better. I lathered this stuff on my face, even though it was slightly irritating over time. What I didn't realize is this stuff was slowly damaging my skin. I couldn't go out into the sun without my skin becoming red, I couldn't go through a day without my eyes getting irritated and dry from the long term use and damage to my eyes from using this stuff before going to bed, and I couldn't get through a day without my skin covered in grease. My poor skin was suffering from the over dryness. I DO NOT recommend for anyone to use this. It will not help your skin in the long term. I am still trying to fix my skin two years later after using this stuff for so long. It ruined my pores. My skin is slowly getting better but I have a good two years to go! Please please please go to a dermatologist. If you don't have the means to, that's understandable, but do not use this system. Clear skin for a couple months is not worth the long term damage. Benzyl peroxide can be helpful, but not in this way!!! I'm not trying to trash the company or anything, I am only trying to warn people from damage to your skin because what I went through is not something I wish upon on anyone else!

Dermatologists usually recommend bp in general as a first line treatment for acne too actually... sometimes in combination with other unnatural products. Try the tea tree oil and zinc supplement combo because both are tolerated better then bp is... a game changer for sensitive skin like yours and mine. For repairing your skin try colladial oatmeal baths and pat drying. Moisturizing with organic jojoba oil or glycerin can be helpful too. Be patient and give your body a few months to heal because nothing is instant when it comes to acne.

You're not supposed to use the same product for over two years. If you do use a product for over two years, your facial skin usually becomes un-reactive to the product because you've used it so much it is no longer doing anything because though there is still acne there, the product isn't working because it can tell that it has already been applied several times and it won't work because it thinks it it doesn't need to. So, try using another product, maybe by two of the same product, then when you've run out of those two, try another two products if you still have acne, and then do that until you are clear faced or are just happy with your results.

Swelling and rash
I have been using regimen for 3 days now and the area below my left eye is swollen and red. My whole face is covered with rash and very irritated. I am not sure if this is a normal response to BP or should I stop using it. Please help. Thank you

FAILED REGIMEN!!!!! DOING MORE HARM THAN GOOD
Hello! *UPDATE* Unfortunately I have to stop the treatment cause I'm definitely reacting to the benzoyl peroxide. The whole right side of my face is swollen and the acne on my forehead and cheeks get worse every single day!!! This is the 4th week and this is extremely disappointing, as I was looking forward to this regimen being my last resort. Also, I don't believe the cleanser does anything. When I wash my face morning and night, I use my finger just to scratch the side of my nose and the amount of dirt that comes out is horrible. I'm not allowed to wash my face hard just so I don't irritate it more, but gosh!! The dirt is annoying. I can actually see the dirt still sitting on my face when I'm done washing it. The cleanser doesn't do anything at all. Before I got on the regimen, my face was presentable. I could still manage to go out, but now this has only made me feel/look worse than I have been. Sometimes it's supposed to get worse before it gets better but damn!! I don't think the right side of my face should be swollen for days. Looks like I've been in a fight or have a whole bunch of candy in my mouth. I'll show pictures but I'm too embarrassed and Insecure to. Just to make things clear, I followed the instructions as stated. I watched what I ate, washed my hands constantly, changed pillows cases, covered my hair to sleep. Basically changed my lifestyle routine just so I see wonderful results and write success story but I look like a creature right now. I'm extremely sad and disappointed. I'm not trying to risk staying on this regimen before I end up in an emergency room. *FIRST REVIEW* I started on this regimen and I'm 2 weeks in. Ive followed the instructions to the T but sadly, I've been breaking out extremely bad. Consistent Pus filled pimples on my forehead and checks. My face is actually worse than it was before I started on this regimen. It hurts/itches really bad and I get depressed when I look at my face. I stay away from junk/oily food, I exercise, wash my hands every seconds, keep hands away from face, change pillow case and beddings every week and also use a different towel on my face. Is this my body just purging or am I reacting to this regimen. I honestly don't want to believe it's a reaction cause it has worked well for a lot of people and I'm hoping it would work for me too. Can someone/Dan please advice? I really don't want to give up

There is some itching associated with initial benzoyl peroxide use. If it's really bad like you said, you may have an allergy to benzoyl peroxide especially if it hurts.

Just keep following the regimen. It will get better in a month or two in. Im glad I did not give up, I am a year in and my face is completley clear.

thanks @Tchristina @sarawold. But I'm going to stop this regimen for my own health and sanity

Made my skin worse...
The first few weeks my skin started to clear up...over a month in and all of a sudden my skin freaked out! My face is extremely red and inflamed, while also being very sensitive and flaky. I really want to stop using this before it does too much damage. But, people say their acne comes back worse than ever. Any ideas on what to do?? I never even had bad acne in the first place, but wanted to get rid of the ones that were there for good. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. Do NOT buy this!

Not for me - Moderate, hormonal, adult acne.
I have moderate, adult, hormonal acne. Unfortunately, the Acne.Org Regimen did not work for me. I used it for 6 weeks and noticed no improvement in my skin. I was very excited to try to this treatment after reading/seeing so many positive reviews and am very disappointed to conclude it isn't for me. I used it as directed, except with less moisturizer than advised because my skin was not drying like most people who use it. My skin was still oily and if I used as much moisturizer as directed, my face was shiny after a couple hours and I was dabbing with paper towels. I did experience the unpleasant burning and itching in the first 3 weeks but it eventually went away. I did not feel like the cleanser did much. After washing with the cleanser, my face felt no different, I didn't feel like it was removing oils, etc. The BP wasn't that bad because my face was used to 10% BP, except I only used 10% BP once a week before I started Acne.org. I also feel that for having no improvements in my skin, it's 100% NOT worth using BP so damaging to my already damaged skin. I did not like the moisturizer, I felt it was too oily for my skin. I will not be purchasing this treatment again or recommending it to anyone.

You said using it as directed, means starts only small amount and adding more until 2 full pumps gradually? Maybe for some people, determination required to make the skin clearing up completely. I hated the waiting moment from BP to moisturizer that took me 15 mins each time, twice a day. But yes, we have to do it religiously. Some people clearing up fast, some dont. Hope you dont give up with the situation :) Good luck!

DO NEVER USE THIS ON YOUR SKIN! YOU WILL REGRET IT
Do never order this thing! I thought I had acne before I started to use this (I did not have a lot of acne just some pimple here and there) But I wanted to get rid of them so I orded the whole acne.org treatment. Well after a month my skin was ruined because of this, but I said to myself that It would work so I continuied the treatment. After 4 month my skin was so bad and I had cystic acne. I started to stop using this sh*t and instead I put aloe vera on my skin to heal it. Now I have used aloe vera on my skin for 1 month and I don't get cystic acne or any acne at all anymore, my scars are still there and I have a lot of hyperpigmentation, but the aloe vera heals everything! So my tip is to NOT use benzoyl Peroxide, instead use natural ingredients for example aloe vera! THIS THING RUINED MY SKIN.....

Works, but beware of side effects - If tanning (skin discolouration) occurs, stop immediately.
Conclusion: Follow Dan's advice- If skin discolouration (brown/orange 'tanning') occurs during use, stop immediately. BP Pro's: It was pretty good at stopping new spots appearing. BP Con's: 1. Every spot that did appear when using BP would scar and so the number of apparent spots on my face would not be any less than before using BP, even though far less new spots were appearing. (When i say scar, I mean hyperpigmentation marks, each of which take 6-9 months to disappear for me) 2. 'Tanning' (Skin discolouration): Dan does say that one side effect of BP is skin discolouration and that BP should be stopped if this occurs. I started to 'tan' after a week or two of using the product - skin was becoming more orange/brown, but not in a nice tan way - my skin was an unhealthy shade and there were noticeable rings around my eyes and lines on my neck (where I wasn't using BP). A lot of users on acne . org say this is a common and temporary side effect which may go away, so I persevered. It did not go away, and I stopped BP. However, it is now 4-5 months since stopping BP (and all other acne . org products) and the 'tan' is still as apparent as it was 1 week after stopping - there has been no fading in the last 4 months so it seems it may be permanent. The resultant 'tan lines' are almost as much of a problem as the acne itself, and whilst acne will disappear with age, I am now worried that the 'tan' wont. Other relevant details: - I built up (over a period of 1 month or so) to applying BP twice daily. I would use dan's moisuriser and cleanser as directed too. I also added in AHA after another month or so and used this every couple of days. I followed all of the acne . org instructions. I did not have any other side effects from BP (other than dry skin, which became less of a problem upon using AHA). After the 'tanning' became quite apparent, I reduced the BP to once daily, not twice, and did not observe any change. I thought the 'tan' may have been due to the yellow pigment in the moisturiser but this was not the case (I trialled switching moisturisers and this did not change anything). I also thought that the 'tan' may have been due to the UV sensitivity that occurs upon using AHA, however it was winter at the time (in UK) and there was essentially zero sun. - I have white skin which tans averagely - I am not particularly sensitive to the sun.

stay away!
I've been using this product for about 3 weeks now and my face is so red, dry and my face looks like a wrinkled paper. Some of my acne went away but new came. It left so many red patches and red marks it's INSANE! Even the smallest pimples left a bright red mark that will take forever to fade. My existing marks from before became even worse. I am so scared to stop because many people says it comes back worse. My skin texture is so bad and my skin tone is uneven. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!

You need to alternate days. 2 days on...2 days off. You did not start slow enough. This happened to me too. It's been 2 months using the kit and my skin has never looked this good.
