Acne.org : Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%)

This worked great for my skin and cleared up some acne for a few months but not fully, still had breakouts. Towards the end of my tube, this product applied to my face made it SUPER red the next day and I had patches of rednesss wherever I applied. I bought a new tube thinking that it was probably defective after time passed, but same result. RED PATCHES, made it look like i had a skin disease.

it works for some but not for some. I guess my acne was quite bad as it was cystic ones. I'm sticking to the 5% and the jojoba moisturiser.

Okay, I have used this for a few months. Here is my honest opinion of this. I have written a review for it before and gave it 3 stars out of 5 overall, but I am changing it now to 2. Here is why. You can tell that your skin hates this product. It seems to me that my skin was pretty much "dead" after a while using this. Not only was my skin always flakey, it just looked dull and lifeless. But to be honest, Acne affects me so badly on a psychological level that I would be the first one to say that it's not very important. As long as I can get on with my life and not have my Cheeks covered in Acne. So the real problem with this product is it seems to make hyper pigmentation marks (Red marks left over from acne, which is worse than acne it self!) last FOREVER. Serious, I read that it did this, but I also read Ran saying it didn't. So I thought I would see for myself. I can now confirm that expect you're red marks to stick around for ages if you use this. I have now quit using it

It's no different to the other stuff. Another false acne-relief dream. :(

I used it for a few months and it dried out my skin and made my face extremely red. It cleared up my acne a little bit but was not worth it. It took two months to get my skin back to normal afterwards. I would not recommend this at all. It killed my skin. I started using Oxy 10% benzoyl peroxide wash and it works awesome.

Worst thing ever!!! I used to have pimples in the T-area of my face so I started using this bp. Even though I started slow, my face got really dry...but since it seemed like it was working, I kept using it but about 3 weeks later I got pimples and bumps all over my face!!. Yes, the pimples were smaller but it was terrible!!! I've stopped using it about 3 weeks ago but the pimples that I got using the bp didn't disappear yet and my face is still a little dry. It's so frustrating because I've never had dry skin or pimples all over my face before!!!

I have been using this product for about 2 months now, i did see results in the beginning but now it seem that old acne has come back, i wanted this product to work but unfortunately it hasnt for me,i will stick to the reginmen till chritmas, if there is no improvent by then i will stop the regimen.

I'm hesitant to use more than a minimal amount on my face. I know the breaking out and redness is supposed to be a phase, but even after weeks of starting treatment, my shoulders were still horrendously rough and dry, so I was a bit unwilling to find out how my face would react.

Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide is the best BP product I've tried. I used it for about 3 years. The problem that I faced and the reason I stopped using it was because I started getting occasional cystic acne around my chin and jaw line after 2 years of use. The rest of my face was doing quite well. Had very few if any whiteheads and regular zits. I stopped using Benzoyl Peroxide when I moved to France, where it isn't legal over the counter, anywhere in the EU for that matter. I decided I wasn't comfortable using a product that has caused cancer in animals, or stains my clothes, towels, and sheets. Since going off Benz. Peroxide, I haven't had any cystic acne, but my face is more clogged overall, my forehead isn't as clear as it used to be. I am in the process of searching for an alternative that combats my oily/shiny skin and keeps away whiteheads/small zits.
