Cons:
Stings
Doesn't work on all pimples, only some
can be kind of hard to get off once dried
So I use toothpaste on my zits, and it works fairly well. I take the toothpaste, and then drown my pimple in toothpaste. Lol. I apply the toothpaste at night, and then leave it on while I sleep. The toothpaste may sting a bit in the beginning. Some toothpaste might get on your pillow, but you can wash that off. By morning, the pimple is usually smaller and less red. However, the toothpaste doesn't affect all pimples. Some pimples just stay the same. I've noticed that the toothpaste is more effective on newer pimples just starting to form, than big swollen oily pimples. The bottom line is that toothpaste isn't a miracle cure for your pimples, but for something that is already in your house and extremely cheap, it is definetly worth a try.

classic
I've been using toothpaste on my acne since I was in 6th grade, and it really have never done anything for me, now that I look back on it. I would put it on with the intention of reducing the size or redness of my acne, but then I would take it off and my acne would be the same. I've tried several brands but none seem to work.

Pros:
dries up the zit,
already in your house
Cons:
not good for sensitive skin. Don't use gel toothpaste, it gave me chemical burns. And they really hurt
My friend turned me on to this idea. I was at her house, she had toothpaste paste, and it worked wonders. I came home, used our toothpaste which is a gel and it made my zits even worse and i got a chemical burn from it. So use the paste not the gell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TRY IT!
Worked for me :) While toothpaste has had some good ratings, you should remember that we all have our own skin types so to speak. Thus meaning that for a significant number of people, toothpaste doesn't seem to work. Go through all the 'known home remedies' and try each of them.
One important thing is to BE PATIENT, which is the hardest thing to do.
If there's one thing we all want, it is to find the perfect 'cure' that will make your skin problems go in an instant. Sadly, there isn't one. Whilst you may hear of amazing products that work like a charm, like for instance all this hype about Benzoyl Peroxide, it may not work so don't get your hopes up.
After going through an assortment of products I decided to grab the toothpaste. I was quite skeptical but it significantly reduced the redness of the pimples.
SO, basically all I did from then on was use exfoliators, ditch the make up AND USED TOOTHPASTE
Hope I helped :) XX

Be Careful
Applying toothpaste seems to be a good idea and helps reduce acne but you need to make sure it is suitable for you because I burnt my skin using Colgate toothpaste and dried up my skin and took me almost a week to get back to normal and step outside my house.

Only use it if run out off spot cream ( as a last recorce)

Pros:
Cheap , easily available from any supermarket/wal mart etc
Makes big spots go FAST!
Cons:
However, it drys skin out big time, can also leave a big un-sightly purple/brownish mark on your face, which can take a good couple of weeks to fade- or maybe even more =
Get it if you want your spot to go quick - but then be prepared to suffer the dark un-sightly mark on your face! =

great for OCD pickers to resist touching face at home
the toothpaste treatment is not a miracle at fighting acne, so don't count on this as your no. 1 cure because it isn't really that effective, it may however help some pimples dry out/ surface but it only really worked on my most superficial acne. The best way toothpaste actually helped me was that it made me resist touching my face because I couldn't see any of my blemishes and that definitely saved me a lot of scars as back then I was a major OCD picker and just couldn't leave my face alone. So thanks toothpaste. just a little warning: when in-doors expect to receive strange looks and remarks from curious family members. Oh and before you leave to go somewhere, make sure you have cleaned everything off properly!

Worth the try!
This treatment is debatable; it works for some but not for others. But it doesn't hurt to try it out. I would say this is more of a spot treatment, a quick overnight rescue me type of product. I wouldn't recommend this to those with sensitive skin. It definitely has a stinging sensation after application, but naturally I assume it means it's working and it's not an overly strong feeling which causes burns. Recommend applying the toothpaste in very small amounts - almost pea-sized. And on very noticeable pimples only. I've found it minimizes the size overnight and reduces the redness.
