I've been using toothpaste on my acne since I was in 6th grade, and it really have never done anything for me, now that I look back on it. I would put it on with the intention of reducing the size or redness of my acne, but then I would take it off and my acne would be the same. I've tried several brands but none seem to work.

Pros:

Cheap.

Cons:

I did not notice a difference in my acne. In fact it seemed to make my zits more red.

I have sensitive skin and so that might be why using toothpaste on my zits didn't help me.

Pros:

Causes blemishes to surface overnight. I will definitely be using this more often.

Cons:

Mint smell can sometimes make eyes watery.

Make sure you use toothpaste that is non-gel based. Basically the normal old school stuff will do the trick.

Pros:

dries up the zit,
already in your house

Cons:

not good for sensitive skin. Don't use gel toothpaste, it gave me chemical burns. And they really hurt

My friend turned me on to this idea. I was at her house, she had toothpaste paste, and it worked wonders. I came home, used our toothpaste which is a gel and it made my zits even worse and i got a chemical burn from it. So use the paste not the gell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

Reduced pimple size.
Can use when sleeping.
You are bound to have it in your home.

Cons:

Burns a bit. (small price to pay)

This product worked pretty well for me but I don't use it all the time. Lots of people say don't use the Gel kinda of toothpaste but I never really saw why when I used it.

TRY IT!
Worked for me :) While toothpaste has had some good ratings, you should remember that we all have our own skin types so to speak. Thus meaning that for a significant number of people, toothpaste doesn't seem to work. Go through all the 'known home remedies' and try each of them. One important thing is to BE PATIENT, which is the hardest thing to do. If there's one thing we all want, it is to find the perfect 'cure' that will make your skin problems go in an instant. Sadly, there isn't one. Whilst you may hear of amazing products that work like a charm, like for instance all this hype about Benzoyl Peroxide, it may not work so don't get your hopes up. After going through an assortment of products I decided to grab the toothpaste. I was quite skeptical but it significantly reduced the redness of the pimples. SO, basically all I did from then on was use exfoliators, ditch the make up AND USED TOOTHPASTE Hope I helped :) XX

Pros:

Clears skin quickly
Leaves my face smelling minty :)

Cons:

Leaves acne scars :(
Burnings eyes a little

I'm really glad I found this... Ive never had acne and then one day I randomly woke up and my cheeks were grossly full of acne, I have no clue where it came from I hated it so much I looked hideous... I was going crazy till I found this... I'm so glad, it's cleared away my acne quickly in only 3 days my face is almost fully clear... I didn't leave it on over night as others did, I'm using optic white and I know that would burn my face really bad, I was my face with an exfoliating scrub then apply toothpaste leave it on for about an hour or two, wash it off then go to sleep... It's worked wonderfully, the only thing I really hate is that it's leaving scars behind, but as soon as all the acne is gone I will use lemon juice for the scars which is a MIRICLE on scars, fades them very quickly... Over all I love it, my skin is almost back to how it was....

Be Careful
Applying toothpaste seems to be a good idea and helps reduce acne but you need to make sure it is suitable for you because I burnt my skin using Colgate toothpaste and dried up my skin and took me almost a week to get back to normal and step outside my house.
