Pros:

Very effective antibacterial
Simple, natural ingredients
Easy to find
Affordable
Dries up acne FAST
Nice tingly feeling upon application

Cons:

Can be drying if not properly diluted
Pungent smell, but I don't mind it

WOW! Tea tree oil, along with witch hazel has really helped clear up a nasty breakout I've had for the last couple months. I had fresh bumpy zits all over my cheeks and along my jawline, even some on my neck, and I'm finally getting relief. My face is smoothing out and the zits are drying out more and more everyday. It's really amazing to see my face finally clear up. I mix up a toner containing 10% tea tree oil, 90% witch hazel, and apply this all over my face and neck with a hypoallergenic cotton pad, twice daily after cleansing (gentle BHA cleanser). Proper dilution is key! I use a graduated cylinder to make this exact dilution and keep the mixture in a small 3 oz. squirt bottle. This 10% dilution is perfect for me and doesn't overly dry but is still effective against acne. I want to give my skin a chance to breathe while it's healing from this breakout so I moisturize just very lightly afterward. Bottom line, tea tree oil is incredible and very effective at treating skin infections such as acne. You just need to be very careful though and find out what dilution works for you. I wouldn't advise using 100% since it could cause more problems in the long run due to dryness and skin irritation. Use a dilution between 4-15% and you should be good to go! Anything less than 4% can be ineffective, and more than 15% can be overly drying. Try it, it really works!

My Favortie Thing For Pimples
I've tried every spot treatment out there and I'm allergic to almost all of them. The only one I don't seem to have a bad reaction from is SA, but it dries out my skin very bad. Tea Tree oil is the only spot treatment that works for me. There are a few rules that need to be followed using it though 1.) Make sure its 100 Percent Organic Tea Tree Oil, not one of those things you buy at cosmetics stores; they usually way over charge for much less of a product. 2.) Do a patch test 3.) Only apply to active pimples, not let over marks and definitely not all over your face. 4.)Cleanse, tone, and moisturize before. Using moisturizer before a spot treatment will prevent extra dryness. Also if you are very sensitive, dilute in a carrier oil or with water. 5.) This is not an overnight cure, there is no overnight miracle cure to acne. Be patient.

Pros:

Anti-fungal
All Natural
Dries out oils from skin
Cleans deep within the skin

Cons:

Smell could be over powering for most (or vigorously refreshing)

Do your research before using any product, herb, or extract. Also research different combinations of herbal oils that can help your skin type overall instead of hoping that one oil can be a cure all. TTO is wonderful. It can be too drying for sensitive skin, but it can be diluted with a carrier oil such as sunflower oil. TTO is awesome for oily acne prone skin types. For sensitive skin, it might be better to wash TTO off after a small period of time (about 30 minutes- 1 hour) Acne prone skin needs to be cleansed from within. While using TTO your skin may break out more before completely being clear due to the fact that TTO is anti-fungal. It is trying to get rid of the bacterial within your skin that you can not see. Smart tip: Always apply a moisturizer after applying TTO. The best moisturizers can also be herbal oils such as Sweet Almond Oil or Rosehip Seed Oil. You do not need much at all just put a dab on your face and rub it all around until absorbed. Repeat until all areas of the face are lightly treated.

Pros:

Very good at healing existing pimples

Cons:

The smell and it can't be used alone to treat acne because it won't prevent breakouts.

This is the best to use as a natural alternative to a pimple cream. If you have bad acne, you should try a product suggested in the regime because this only works for healing the occasional spot. I guess it's another product that works with some people and not everyone but worth a try.

Pros:

it really works and fast, within 1 day I noticed a difference

Cons:

The smell is really strong so you can only use it at home

I have Indian skin, and for the last 6 months I've been getting acne on my forehead, and worse of all when the acne goes it leaves a dark scar for months. The Tea Tree Oil I got was from the UK from a fairly well known store that begins with the letters Wil Note this has to be the 100% pure oil, not just some product that includes Tea Tree oil but the real deal 100% in a tiny bottle. I apply it with a finger directly on to my face, I find it dries my greasy skin and does two things, it seems to help the acne to just dissipate, but also seems to help it heal a lot faster then normal. This is by far the fastest acting thing I've ever tried for acne and it works amazingly. If you have sensitive skin this might be too strong for some, but for myself it works wonders.

Pros:

-not greasy if you use the right amount
-powerful acne fighter, and it evens skin tone.
-makes scars fade
-easy to use
-it works amazingly

Cons:

hmmmm the smell is quite strong. but its not worth complaining about!

I have been using 10 % benzoyl peroxide for about two years; both the cleanser and the after cream. My face has never been so clear and even toned since i switched to using pure tea tree oil. I just ice my face, then wash it with a cleanser; let dry then use a q tip to get a drop of tea tree oil and mix it with moisturizer and rub it in my skin. If you want results try switching to this routine. my skin is now clean and the post acne marks are quickly fading. YAY

I hate this oil!
When I read how people rave on TTo, I thought that I should give it a try. I bought a bottle and diluted it with some essential oils. Unfortunately, TTO doesnt agree with my skin. I developed tiny spots all around my pimples and places where I never got pimple before. My face was almost clear until I tried this. It has been a regret since using tto. To people out there, dont believe everything what the netizens hyped about.

Pros:

Very easy to apply (Q-Tip)
Fades red acne scars
Reduces moderate acne
Does not break you out

Cons:

Dries skin
Can burn for a few minutes after

I've suffered from acne since I was 15 years old. I am now 23 years old. Granted, I did not take care of my skin, nutrition, sleep and water consumption when I was young, but for the past few years I have done just about everything under the sun: retin-a, proactiv, maxclarity, and many more products. I even went to a specialized skin therapist and dermatologist to no avail. Enter Tea Tree Oil (TTO). I have been on TTO, in conjunction with Neutrogena oil free acne wash cleanser and a Neutrogena 3 in 1 stress control acne spot treatment, for the past two and a half weeks, and my skin has honestly NEVER been better. It does take a few days to notice significant change, but boy once it starts, and you keep doing the treatment at Night and whenever new whiteheads form...your skin WILL get clear. I absolutely guarantee it. I have never been happier and I can see my confidence growing every day again. Remember to use MOISTURIZER, since it does dry your skin a lot. Apply TTO with Q-tips and use 100% non diluted TTO. Good luck :)
