Pros:

Smoother completion
Tighter pores

Cons:

Makes skin sensitive
Burns a bit upon application

I don't generally get pimples, but my derm prescribed me this a year ago for oil control. However, I stopped using it after my first tube ran out because it became ineffective after using it for a couple months. A week ago I decided to go pick up the second tube in my prescription since i was getting desperate for a solution for my huge pores (which wasn't as big of an issue when I first used this product). I have only been using it a week, about 2-3 times a day, but the pores on my cheeks have already decreased in size SO much. With a bit of makeup, they're hardly even noticeable anymore. I still have to blot the oil off of my face every few hours as well as having to deal with flaky skin around my mouth, but id rather have that than the awful texture i had before! I'm really hoping it continues to work as well as it is, because for the first time in ages i can actually look in the mirror and be happy with what i see.

Pros:

Eventually fades scar marks
Gets rid of acne
Helps the skin to regenerate (The Tretinoin does this, derived from Vitamin A)

Cons:

The gel is worn at night, becomes a peel-y flakey tight mask, so put it on after you brush your teeth.

Makes acne worse initially, for up to 8 weeks or so as it brings all the crud in the pores to the surface

It takes time to work, I've been on it for about 3 months and I'm just now seeing the last of my red marks fading

Worth a try, especially because the price is right. How much have we all spent on tubes of lotions and gels from the pharmacy only to have wasted $$$. Even though it gets worse first, It's not the end of the world, drink lots of water, keep your face (and hands clean), eat nutritiously and it will heal up. At this point I only use it 4-5 times a week, due to the speed at which it regenerates my skin. I find myself needing to really exfoliate to keep my skin from looking dull and do use eye cream at night around my under eye area. I still do wash my face with Clearasil cream or PanOxyl bar soap, alternating and I use a non comedogenic cream during the day. I like Kiss My Face Peaches and Cream, which has AHA 4% in it, also helping your skin to regenerate.

Pros:

Cleared acne, mostly, most of the time
Clears acne quickly, prevented scarring

Cons:

Irritation at first
Takes time to work
Not a sliver bullet for all acne
Some flaking of skin

I've been on this medication for almost three years now. While on it, I experienced significantly less acne then before, but only after a few weeks of use. During the first few weeks, there was irritation and flaking, but it went away after a while. However, since my skin is incredibly oily (especially my nose), it hasn't been able to anything for my blackheads there. But since you can only notice them if you look really closely, it really doesn't matter to me. There's also been some acne that has developed, but that can be attributed to my sloppy job of applying the gel. It's also helpful if you're like me and like to pick at the skin (I know it's bad, but I do it without thinking sometimes). While on the medication, my skin seemed to heal right up, no matter how much I abused it. I'm not sure if it will work for everybody, but I've had no permanent damage from the acne that did end up developing. The instructions say that the gel should be used with regular washing, and only after the skin is completely dry after a shower. You should follow them if you choose this product. All in all, it's good for people who have a moderate case of acne that don't mind waiting a bit for it to work. It is a very good exfoliant and may prevent scarring. However, it is not a sliver bullet and cannot solve all your problems.

Pros:

- has made skin less oily
-is slowly removing blackheads
- overall clearing by skin, haven't had a breakout since I started using it

Cons:

- may cause some redness, flaking/peeling of your skin as it exfoliates, I use an oil free mosturizer with SPF 15 in the morning

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS , I did not get results until I read the instructions and used it properly, the main points are that you have to wash your face and let it dry completley for about 10 minutes, do not put on any other moisturizer , wash your hands, apply a THIN layer to your face (more is not better), avoid eye area and around lips, then wash your hands again. Brush and floss your teeth before you put it on because it creates a tight mask like effect on your face. Wash with a gentle cleanser in the morning. Do not use with many other acne products at the same time, example scrubs , masks, etc, unless your doctor told you to because it will likely dry your skin out alot. While using this gel, I always used a night cream around my eyes because the skin is so delicate. Also, be careful not to get it on or around your mouth because it tastes bad and if you swallow alot of it you may get an upset stomach. The trick with this stuff, is patience I think, the results are not insta

Pros:

Works moderately well. Progress is slow, but noticeable. Does not irritate skin or cause any itch or pain. Doesn't leave skin feeling oily the next morning like clindoxyl gel, the other product I tried. Quite cheap.

Cons:

Dries out skin, but an average moisturizer fixes that easily enough.

You must use it constantly to avoid setbacks. Works better than clindoxyl gel. Progress isn't what I hoped for, though. Still not close to getting rid of my acne altogether.

Pros:

clears up skin pretty well

Cons:

takes a while to work. burning, redness, dryness and peeling may occur while using it, but is not severe.

must use consistently. don't use cover up or any other moisturizers or skin products on affected area(s). this makes skin worse and makes progress slower. (says on instructions)

Pros:

Cleared my acne to a tolerable degree.

Cons:

Still get acne, i'd say about half of what i got before, Redness (racoon eyes), peeling for about the first 4 days, very, very sensative to sun.

Works better for those with inflamitory acne or skin cell growth problems ( i on the other hand just have extremely oily skin), It made going out a bit easier but still got a fait bit of acne. Improvement is very slow. Used it for a little over 4 months

Cons:

flakiness when used, scab

You'll notice results pretty fast, each day the pimple gets smaller and will disappear soon, but right now i have a small red mark where the pimple used to be and i hope it goes away soon
