Pros:

I haven't seen any...

Cons:

Burns my face, peels away my skin so that old acne can't heal. Has made my face look like a war zone, when I only have mild to moderate acne.

I know that this medication is suppose to make things worse before it gets better, however I have been using it for over 2 weeks and I feel and look awful. My acne has never ever been as bad as this medication has made it. May work for some people but not for me.

Pros:

-Cleared Skin
-Reduced Scaring

Cons:

-Extreamly Dry Skin (redness, irritation, flaking, etc)

I've been using this product for quite some time after my doctor recomended it to me. It hadden't worked for my sisters in the past but I was willing to try anything. Now, I normally have extreamly oily skin and after a few days of trying it, it completely dryed me out. I got to the point when I knew it was damaging my skin more then it was helping it even though my acne was clearing. Even with the moisturizers my doctor had put me on, the best I get is 'normal' skin with some flaking and ichiness.

Pros:

leaves skin smoother and clearer

Cons:

causes massive peeling and redness

Just be careful not to slack off. I used it for about a year then I started to forget about it and my acne got horrible. My doctor moved my up to the regular strengh from the mild and i have only been using the regular for about a week but my skin is dry, red, flaky and painful. Im hoping I will get used to it. Is it ok to use moisturizer with it? my doctor said it would make it less effective but my skin really hurts...

Pros:

Clears up skin somewhat

Cons:

Burns skin, leaves red, flaky marks behind, hard to apply

I've only been on this product for 4 weeks, so I'm not seeing major results yet (but hope to!). My doctor recommended the mild gel to use every 3 days (basically twice a week), and I started out on that regime. However, it seemed to be clearing and my sensitive skin was tolerating it, so I started every second day. BIG MISTAKE. Seriously, do what your doctor tells you! I am now trying to diminish large red marks along my jaw and cheeks, that turn yellow and scaly when dried out. It's awful, and it burns as well. I have stopped using the product on those sections until it "heals" (which I hope it does). I also found that the moisturizer I was using (Alba Organics oil-free) started to burn my skin after I had used the Stievamycin, so I wasn't sure if I should use the lotion before or after. Any suggestions? Also tried the Cetaphil SPF lotion, and it made my skin much drier! But the gentle cleanser is awesome!

Pros:

none yet.. well i dont have any severe headaches.. thats not really a pro. its just not a con.

Cons:

makes skin terribly dry EVEN after applying moisturizer 2 hours later, makes skin red and flaky, in general it down right hurts.

I have freckled skin and have always had a great complexion with the odd zit every month or so. well, in about october i all of a sudden started getting small bumps all over my face. i started using benzagel. didn't work. so now i'm on stievamycin and diane-35 (the pill). All that has been happening is now i dont have any small bumps - instead i have excruciating volcanic zits. its now only on my chin and temples- but it is NOT working. Even on the bottle it says you see improvement in 2-3 MONTHS. i dont want to get rid of my acne then. i want to get rid of my acne NOW! AND im graduating in june. i do NOT want pizza face.
