Pros:

Does clears acne

Cons:

Nausea
Fatigue
Serious mood swings
Vision is affected, feels high pressure on my eyes
Skin darkened

First day on Yaz, I felt sleepy all day, so I drank 3 coffees and didn't eat much food, my eyes felt tired and couldn't see things as clear as I used to. It was a sunday, I just thought maybe i slept too much. Second day on Yaz, started to feel dizzy, was having trouble concentrating. Had no apetite, wanted to vomit when smelling food, light headaches kicked in along with the high pressured eyes. Walked into Pharmacy for advice, pharmacist suggested to keep on taking it, they might go away. Day 3 Slept from 2am to 11am, woke up with light pain in my legs, felt like I had a night out in my high heels or something. Tired, but overall feeling ok. Changed my mind, and took another pill. Then all the side effects showed up again around 3pm. Didn't fade untill late night that day. Day 4 Eyes were feeling better, pressure went down, didn't take any pills, had a bad headache from 4pm to bed time, but ate a lot of food. Mood swing has gone, was still feeling bit tired. Day 5, woke up at 6am ( 7 hours sleep), light headache, overall, no more fatigue nausea vomit feelings, mood swing gone, eyes are good to look at computer screen. The commercial of this pill made me happy, I thought, wow, finally, I can eliminate mood swings and depression with this pills to treat my acne, when previous pills was making me depressed. I wouldn't be happily to continue if I could tolerate those side effects, afterall I have been tolerating them for 4 or 5 years. But with Yaz, those side effects were just too much. I've decided to come off the pills totally, yes, ance might come back, but I'm willing to try alternatives rather than messing up with my hormones.

The worst medication I have ever taken. Made me gain weight, break out and completely lose my confidence. Now I have to result to accutane.

Pros:

NOTHING

Cons:

Mood Swings
Acne (When I've NEVER had bad skin)
Period won't stop
KILLED my sex drive
The most horrific burning inside my vagina after stopping which is supposedly "normal" in some woman. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for side effects like this...

Don't EVER take this, you will regret it...I do...

Pros:

Acne Clear

Cons:

Hair loss
Worse cramping
Heavier period
Took several months to get regulated to normal

I switched to Yaz right when I started Accutane. I'm not sure if it was the Accutane working with the Yaz to cause my bad experience, or if it was all Yaz. The first period lasted 3 weeks, and my cramping is bad every month now - and my flow is much heavier. I went from using regular tampons to ultra just to make it through the night. The hair loss is minor, but I noticed it. Again, not sure if it's the accutane or the Yaz, but I have been off Accutane for almost 3 months now, and my hair is not back yet. I have been on Yaz for 9 months and will switch once I go back to the doctor for my annual check up. My periods on my old BC (Ovcon) were normal and not painful and heavy. I also haven't noticed any improvement in my moods. The acne isn't here - but I'd almost attribute that to the Accutane. I would not recommend this BC. (Also, I use the generic form)

Pros:

none that I can think of :/

Cons:

worse acne, SEVERE depression/mood swings and hopeless/suicidal feelings, breakthrough bleeding severely even after 3 months

horrible for me. wouldn't recommend. It has been ruining my life. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's why I have severe crying spells. Especially after reading so many other reviews all over the 'net. My dr. told me to quit taking it immediately. I was just taking it to help even out my hormones(they said I had slightly elevated testosterone but not even bad!) and maybe help my oily skin but it made is way worse. Just wanted to post this incase it could help someone else the way other reviews have made me feel like I'm not alone.

Just, No.

Pros:

not getting Pregant

Cons:

Mood swings
Acne
headaches

I'm 23 years old and I tried Yaz for only 3 months because it made my mood swings with my S.O. really bad! I would get angry about everything, snap and yell about stupid little things. So I had to stopped the pill, it didn't help my acne at all. I also was very paranoid with Yaz from all the bad reviews but I tried it with a positive out look. but left with Negative results. only reason I tried it was because it was cheaper then Diane 35.

Pros:

Cleared up my acne - I have only 1 zit left!

Cons:

Makes me angry, depressed, suicidal.
Spotted all month
I don't even want to be around my partner, I cannot control my anger and it is ruining my relationship and it is like night and day being on the pill versus off. My friends and partner noticed a mood change and when I went off the pill I was extremely happy and noticed a huge change, but my acne came back :(

Don't do it. Try a different pill. Yasmin and Yaz are horrible for me in the mood department, I'm going to try Marvelon next to see if it reduces my acne and allows me to be sane. This is not worth it!!!!

Pros:

Works as an oral contraceptive. That's it.

Cons:

Mood swings.
Constant bloating.
When I went off the pills my acne became terrible.

I started taking Yaz not for my acne, which used to be very mild, just as a birth control pill. Now almost a year after I've stopped taking it, I'm on this website looking for a cure for my acne which has become unbearable. I had to stop taking the pills after four months because I felt like I was going insane ! I would cry all the time, I never felt like doing anything, and I stopped talking to many of my friends because I was just depressed. I finally realized it must be the pills that had caused this change in me. After I went off of them, I had a terrible cystic breakout on the sides of my cheeks where I had never gotten acne before. At the time I just believed my hormones were balancing out and it would all soon be over. The mood swings stopped and I was myself once again, which was wonderful. But now these pills seemed to have forever changed my skin. It is oilier and I get cysts every month. I wish I had read reviews about the pills before I went on them, it was so not worth it. Bottom line, I would not recommend them !
