Pros:

My boyfriend noticed that my boobs were bit bigger. Lighter perios.

Cons:

My acne remained the same, it didnt get any better or worse. I still experienced new breakouts, which I thought yaz was going to get rid og.

It doesnt work as well as Ortho-Tri, but I was WAY TOO emotional when I used Ortho-Tri. Yaz didnt make me emotional, it kind of helped with the acne, but not as much as Ortho-Tri. One huge pro was that it made me have a slightly bigger bust... but that was it.

Pros:

effective birth control, periods seem much better, no breakthrough bleeding and cramps like on ortho

Cons:

acne?! maybe it is getting worse before it gets better.

i have been on yaz for two months. at first i was totally happy because i did not have any problems with breakthrough bleeding or cramping like with ortho. i have read a lot of reviews where women are saying that it made the moody and depressed, but this has not been the case for me (and i have been treated for clinical depression before). the problem is that my moderate adult acne has worsened considerably. my dermatologist told me that yaz takes about three months to start working on your acne, so i am hoping that it is getting worse before it gets better. it is definately worse it, because my menstrual cramps were so bad that i frequently had to miss work because of them. hopefully the acne will go away soon.

Give it time.

Pros:

Prevents pregnancy
Helps hormonal acne (but not general acne)
Light and short periods

Cons:

Made me moody & irritable
Initial breakout
Tired all the time

Before going on the pill I had minor acne, usually a zit or two once in a while but nothing too drastic - I mostly suffered from on-inflammatory acne. As soon as I started the pill I broke out in some serious cystic acne on my cheeks - a spot I don't usually get acne (at least not often). I know your body need to adjust to the hormones, but all these breakouts are leaving some pretty bad scarring that just doesn't seem to ever fade. I'm only halfway through my second pack, so it may be too soon to tell, so far though it hasn't been good. I've been very irritable and moody since I started it and have lost the desire to do anything.I'm not sure if this depression is a direct cause of the pill or if it's from the worsened acne. On top of all that I feel tired all the time... I know everyone reacts differently, but I personally have not responded well to this medication. Crossing my fingers that things will get better after the 3 month mark! ***UPDATE*** After almost a year on yaz, I must say it does get better. Periods are almost non-existent, and the initial breakout has passed. For those who have hormonal acne (chin, lower cheeks, jawline) I do think yaz helps. I rarely get acne on my chin anymore, where I used to tend to breakout.

Pros:

Definitely cleared up my skin and my face was much less oily. Confidence boost. (LOW estrogen is a plus as well)

Cons:

SIDE EFFECTS!! -- Breasts got larger (not such a bad thing), Nausea, bloating, and moodiness

After about 3 months on Yaz, i saw a noticeable improvement in my skin. My face was less oily, pimples were reduced, and i didnt break out all over as often. I was willing to try anything at 21 -- but it was not magic. I felt sick to my stomach every day -- i tried toughing it out but it never went away. I felt moody and I would be highly sensitive (I especially realize this in retrospect since i have stopped the medication). I would still recommend it because everyone will have different side effects, and you may experience less nausea -- it doesnt really hurt to try. For me, the side effects were difficult to live with on a day-to-day basis, even though my acne improved tremendously and my self esteem went up. About a month after getting off the pill, my original "T zone" and extreme oiliness came back and eventually (~2 months later) so did my pimples.

Pros:

No pregnancys, breast blew up (in a great way) within a matter of 2 weeks of being on the pill (almost as if a breast augmentation), lighter periods, periods right on track every month, much fewer cramps & less bloating, acne cleared within 4 weeks

Cons:

i take the pill @ night before bed and i expierenced severe headaches & nausia the first 4 mornings of starting the pill, if a day has been accidently skipped and i take 2 pills at once i expierence extreme nausia, cravings for certin foods

with every medicine your going to have your pro's and con's. I am 20 years old & have been on BC since I was 15 due to severe cyst on my ovaries. I have been on alyse, avian & seasonal before (which was HORRIBLE-I gained 15 pounds in 1 week and it was all from retaining fluid which made me look like a balloon!) and i definatly recomend this pill before any. Personally, I would choose to have a couple head aches once in a blue moon to have a promising non-pregnancy, great full looking breast, lighter periods & clearer skin- I have never expierenced sudden changes in my moods thus far- The price is a little high but when you put everything together (acne medication, cramp medicine, bloating medicine, prevention of pregnancy, even breat implants) you come out saving a bundle! Everyone's body responds differently so I recomend giving it a shot for 3 months, time to allow your body to adjust! So far, I have been very satisfied

Pros:

none so far, ive only been on it a couple of days.

Cons:

i cant sleep very well
crying alot
severe mood swings

i switched to this pill because ortho was making my anxiety bad and ive always had terrible anxiety. i was really excited to try this since its supposed to get rid of it... ive been disappointed. i cant get more than 5 hours of sleep, im crying constantly, anxiety attacks have not gotten any better. but like i said, ive only been on it for a couple of days..its just hard with the emotional instability, it makes it tough to "ride it out".

Pros:

Helped acne
Shorter periods

Cons:

None

When I first started YAZ, my acne was terrible. It was all over my t-zone, my face was red and splotchy, and it was just a awful. Within the 1st 2 months of taking the pill, my face cleared up an insane amount. All I really had was scarring. But lately, 4 months or so, my skin has been breaking out again. I feel like no matter what I do, I look like a mess. I don't know if maybe I've just been on this particular pill for too long and I need to switch, but it doesn't seem to be helping my acne anymore. I'd say that I recommend you give it a try, but it may not be the miracle cure.

Pros:

Cleared up my skin, less cramps, less mood swings, shorter periods

Cons:

I broke out with cystic acne the first month a half

IT made me break out really bad the first month and a half, but I am on my third month and it seems that my cystic acne is gone. I switched from ortho tri cyclen because it was no longer keeping my skin clear. Yaz made my skin worse in the beginning, but now is clear. And hopefully my skin just gets clearer and clearer. If your insurance covers it like mine, or you could afford it I would try it. And give it 3 months to work, like the doctor said.

Pros:

increased sex drive, enlarged breasts, regulated mood

Cons:

nausea, minor weight gain, i usually have clear skin but have been breaking out moderately and my skin has been more oily then normal

I've been on it for three weeks and so far it's been just fine! The first few days my moods were so up and down! I was getting scared at how I would react to the medication, but now my body has gotten used to it and I love not having to worry about getting prego:) about to get to week number 4, and hopefully my period will be okay, because i usually have severe cramps and mood swings.
