Diane-35 : Oral Contraceptive

I originally went on Diane as a teenager to treat both my acne and bad mood swings. I have been off it a couple of times and when I go off it I suffer from depression, my skin turns really oily and the pimples return within a couple of weeks. I think this is a great treatment for people who are a little emotionally unbalanced as it's helped me alot wothout changing my personality too much. Plus, no acne!

This is the first thing I have ever used that caused a major improvement in my acne! I have tried tons of OTC products as well as prescriptions like Clindoxyl, Retin-A, oral antibiotics and other BCP's. I am so glad I have finally found something that works. I started to see improvements towards the end of my 2nd pack and am now halfway through my 3rd pack and my skin keeps getting better. My doctor said it can take over 6 months to see the full results so I hope my skin will continue to improve even more. I should mention that Diane-35 has a slightly increased risk of blood clots compared to other BCP's. My doctor told me that there are about 3 extra cases of blood clots per 10,000 women than with other BCP's. My doctor and I decided the benefits outweighed the risk in my case but you may not feel the same way. Diane-35 has made a huge difference in my self confidence. For the first time in years I actually feel good about myself when I look in the mirror!

I have been using Diane 35 for 15 years. I am 41 years old, do not smoke & I exorcise regularly. I did try to get off of Diane 35 about 7 years ago. I did not get a period or a pimple for 6 months. When I did get a period the acne was a bad as when I had first began the Diane 35. I started taking it again with the "first 4 month" issues and have been acne free every since. I LOVE this product!!!!!

Been using for almost ten years now - got a small pimple on my chin recently and experienced PMS symptoms as well. Hope it's just a temporary glitch and not Diane losing effect on me.

I've had acne since I was a teenager and I'm now 29. Diane 35 took a long time to work but for me it was totally worth it. I gained a few pounds when I first started taking it but lost them throughout the first year. I didn't really have any other side effects and when my skin got clear after about 6 months it STAYED CLEAR!! After about 5 years i stopped taking it because I moved to the U.S where it's not available. I had completely forgot that I even had acne/oily skin but since I stopped my face is a mess and I'm getting acne scars for the first time! I can't seem to find anything to replace Diane 35. I'm so sad!!!

Been on this medication on and off for years for my acne and nothing has worked as well as Diane-35.Hair is much better condition-I found I had to wash it twice a day before,don't have any sickness as I take the pill just before sleeping,no weight gain at all,boobs are curvier,no tummy upsets.Overall,bloody good pill.

I have had acne for as long as I can remember, started breaking at the age of 14, tired everything under the sun from antibiotics, diet and excercise but nothing really worked as well as Diane, I had it for 5 months and the effects started showing from the 3 month my skin had completly cleared, it really helped my self confidence, i stopped having it after the fifth month. My skin broke out in the worst possible manner after quiting, I did not want to go any where or meet anyone. My dermatologist asked me to go back on diane, i had for fifteen days but in the mean-time I did my research and found out that you had to be on diane to enjoy clear skin you most definately break out once you stop having it and the side-effects scared me, I took a call and quit it once again this time mid-cylce. I'm so glad I told the decision my skin is far from perfect but its getting there, I have the strictest diet, I exercise everyday and am on homeopathy and its working wonders.

I am 56 yrs old,thin dont smoke.I have had grade 4 cystic acne since I was 15 yrs old.At 16 i went on the pill,it worked for awhile. I was also taking tetracycline then and it null and voided the effects of the BCP. I got pregnant.I was married by that time but no one believed me that I was taking the BCP.We divorced.At 30 after years of treatment with antibiotic I built up resistances to most of them.I had so many I and D of cysts Ive lost count.So at 30 I wnt on Accutane. It almost killed me. I was one of the first to try it.I had a terrible allergic reaction to it but my Dermatologist kept me on it and started me on prednisone 50mg for 5 months. my second husband was such a dol,at night he would actuaaly carry me up the stairs because of the pain in my legs. at 51 yrs I stared on Diane 35.It has literally saved my life.I cant say enough good things about it.I wish it was legal in U.S.

I've taken Diane 35 for almost 2 years and it's working perfectly on me. I used in 1 year before then i stopped, the acne came back worse and my skin very oily. I went to doctor and he prescript me Diane 35 again. He said my body was working good on it for a year, so there would be no side-effect so far. Now it's working good on me. But my sex drive is lower a little bit. My vagina is not wet enough. I don't know if that's a side-effect. Otherwise, it's working fine for me.

In the broader spectrum, this is a very good pill in comparison to the other contraceptives on the shelf. I have not yet developed signs of jaundice where with my previous pills I developed severe jaundice. I have cysts on my ovaries, which have already reduced in size and soon they will be non-existent. my skin has completely cleared up!! iv picked up a little weight, but thats my fault, the continuous chocolate cravings sometimes out rules my controlling spirit... but if you control what you eat, little to know weight gain will be experienced.
