Diane-35 : Oral Contraceptive

I think it is great! I originally got put on this with accutane (and my acne wasn't reaally that bad, but you need to take birth control with accutane and this is what my doctor put me on). I've been on it for 4 years now and had no regrets (yes the articles about people dying from blood clots freak me out every now and then). Not only has it completely cleared, and kept my acne at bay, but it reduced my facial hair (not that it was crazy). I think it is great. Made my gain weight a little bit (in places I'm okay with), and I don't think it has affected my mood. All in all, I am happy and recommend.

It makes you really confident with your skin. It took 3 months for it to start working on mine. I used to have really bad acne on my face and back. I dont even have to wear coverup now! :)

For anyone who suffers from bad acne, I highly recommed Diane 35, It helped me when NOTHING else did, just be prepared to stay on it, make sure you read up on all the nasty side effects first! Since the age of 13 I dealt with horrible acne, but because of Accutane and Diane-35 the last 3 years of my life have been virtually acne free.

It is the best thing for my skin but not for my health. Im thinking of starting a family in 6 months but im afraid that im going to break out. Also im worried it my decrease my chance of getting pregnant cause diane 35 is such a strong pill. im in a dilemma!

I used to have perfectly clear skin, until 3 years ago when suddenly I found myself suffering from a severe form of acne. It turned out to be a result of hormonal imbalance, so my doctor prescribed Diane35. I used them for 2 years, and my skin was perfect again, so perfect that I forgot I had ever had acne. I haven't been using Diane for 8 months now. Two months ago I started breaking out in acne before my period, and although there are only 3-4 and are far less severe than the ones I used to have, I'm going back on Diane35 this month. While using the pill I didn't gain weight, although my breasts were somewhat larger and more tender. After having used the pill for 2 years I started having headaches before my period, and that was the main reason why I quit taking them.

It's simply great for people who have acne. Im 32 and visited an endocrinologist since I had these huge acne only on my right cheek. So painful that I couldnt chew!!! Never had acne in my teens. The tests came back positive for slightly high androgen levels, an ultra sound revealed a slightly enlarged ovary- possibly the cause of the elevated androgen levels. I've been on Diane for 2 weeks now and girls- IT WORKS! But obviously its going to work only for those who have a hormone imbalance and not recommended for all.

I took this drug for about 4 years and it worked perfectly for me. I've suffered from migraines for the past 18 years and they got better once I started Diane-35. My skin is perfect and my hair takes forever to get oily - love it! I switched to another BC pill (Seasonale) about 6 weeks ago as I was scared of the increased risk of blood clots, and it's been a complete nightmare. Extreme mood swings, depression, MANY migraines, gas/intestinal pain, etc. I need to go back on Diane-35, despite the risks. I simply can't live the way I have been lately - 5 migraines a week that completely wipe me out ... not acceptable! Diane-35 isn't for everyone, but it is perfect for some.

Diane has given me 12 years of beautiful smooth skin and the confidence that I wont wake up to a face full of pimples. I first took it for a year and then went off it, but after a year I became frustrated with acne again (can't remember how long it took to return) and went back on it for 12 years (I'm 33 years young now!). I reluctantly stopped taking it 4 months ago as my husband and I would like to try and have a baby. I have had a couple of pimples on my chin but nothing distressing. On the back of my neck I have developed full-on acne but am not too worried about it given it's not a noticeable area. My skin and hair are very oily and my breasts have gone from a D-cup to a B, but nothing too problematic so far (fingers crossed it stays that way). The first 'home-made' period was associated with terrible depression but it only lasted for about two weeks and am feeling normal again. On the weight gain issue - I think all BCPs affect weight.

I have been taking this pill for the past 15 years! I do like the effects on my skin. I have mood changes before the period, so I try to take it 3 months in a row rather than one. I'm affraid of long term effects... Everytime I stoped taking the pill, My skin erupts with rage. I'm in that transition right now, and i feel depressed of discovering 4 new eruptions in my skin everymorning (in addition to the others still on my skin) I'm form south america, I took it while living in the south emisphere, and once I moved here I have to get it shipped because it is illegal drug here.

I have used Diane on and off for years - at one point fairly regularly for almost 5 years. I expressed concern to doctors but all have said not to worry and that if its working and theres no side effects its fine? In mid 2007 I stopped for a year. My skin went haywire, and Im 25. I went back on Diane which cleared it up. I then tried going on another pill but I had bleeding in between, my skin went bad and basically didnt feel right. Diane seems to be the one pill that works for me, skinwise and otherwise. All doctors except one have said for me not to worry but my concern lies with GPs not knowing much about the effects of all contraceptives. Im still worried about long term effects but for now Diane seems to be the best thing for me, without it Id have awful skin and life would be substandard as a result.
