Pros:

predictable periods, no cramps, no PMS, clearer skin, no dandruff, I sleep better, nearly no insomnia.

Cons:

loss of libido.

I am struggling to decide which I prefer: better skin and hair, better sleep and predictable periods, less mood swings and such, or no sex drive. Tough choice. Once I discontinued it, my libido came back, but so did my acne, dandruff, PMS and insomnia.

Pros:

Same weight, firm breasts, and not sure of anything else just yet

Cons:

Extreme loss of sex drive, acne, migraines,

I've only been taking this pill for about 3 weeks, and I had a lack of sex drive before from my other BC ( Aviane ), but now its even worse. I feel bad for my boyfriends, because i want to do it mentally, but physically it just doesn't happen like it used too. I have broken out badly. Worse it has been in years, but being that I've had acne practically my whole life, I'm used to it. I haven't gained nor lost any weight. I'm hoping to lose some thought. I'm going to give this pill a few more months before i decide to tell my doc to change the pill. I get migraines a lot more now, right behind my eyes. Drives me crazy! It costs me a 20 some dollar difference from my last pill, so it better work!

I have been taking Yasmin for a month. I am taking it for cramps, moderate acne (before period) and for bloating etc. I'm currently on my period and things are pretty much the same. However I also heard that the pill takes about 4 weeks to have a full effect. Those of you who have JUST started taking the pill, keep this in mind and don't give up after just a few days of taking it. Try it for a couple of months before making a decision about it. I will do the same!

Pros:

I'm not too sure of the pros as yet because i'm using it strickly for acne and my DR said i have to use it for at least 3 months before i start seeing results. But, i also using witch hazel to cleanse my skin and i'm seeing some improvement.

Cons:

I get alot of leg cramps and I'm hungry all day but at the same time have a very upset stomach. I've been experiencing alot of headaches since i've been on the pill.

With the daily headaches and mood swings and upset stomach, i was thing twice about starting another cycle with yasmine it but i eventually decided to stick with it and see if the side effects go away after 3 months.

Pros:

I don't know yet!

Cons:

ACNE

I have been using this BC for about one week. Since then I have been getting big size pimples without puss on both checks. They really hurt and have lasted about three days. Plus my insurance did not cover most of it. $20 co-pay is higher than other BC pills. 3 months supply costed me $60. I am used to a $10 a month for BC.

I started taking Yasmin when I was 17 for birth control purposes. February of this year, at the age of 21, I decided to stop taking it because of side effects, and money. I had no idea the extent of the side effects I was experiencing until I stopped taking it. I was happier, less moody, and I felt like having sex again! Then slowly, I started getting pimples increasingly, and finally in October I have full blown acne on my forehead and around my mouth. I have spent hundreds on acne clearing products. Proactiv, philosohpy (which I swear by, besides their acne treatments), and so many others. I had wonderful skin before going on yasmin, and wonderful skin while on yasmin. I wonder if I will ever again. I am thinking about going on OTC, but I don't know. I would not recomend yasmin, not even for the side effects while on it, they are nothing compared to the acne once you come off.

Not sure about this pill

I've been taking the Yasmin pill for 20 years now. It helped clear my acne a bit during puberty. However I'm now wondering if it's actually causing the cystic acne that I've had for almost 15 years, since it seems to clear up a bit every time I stop taking it for a week (which I only recently started doing). So I'm keeping the score at 3 stars.

Was amazing... for the first two years
I was prescribed Yasmin when I was 16 and began suffering from acne breakouts, as well as getting my first boyfriend. So this was a great way to kill two birds with one stone. Within a few months my skin cleared up great, and for around 2 and a half years / 3 until the age of 18 and a half / 19 my skin was great. I still had the occasional couple of small spots around the time of the month, but nothing I would ever consider a problem or any more than anyone with naturally good skin would have. I forgot what it was like to have to think about my skin and it was amazing! However, when I was about to turn 19 my skin went CRAZY. And I mean crazy. And it was practically overnight. The whole bottom half of my face was covered in huge red spots and I spent weeks and weeks hysterically crying refusing to leave the house. I couldn't understand what was happening, I was still taking my Yasmin properly which had kept my skin so beautiful for so long!? After trying many topical treatments and antibiotics alongside my Yasmin I went to see a dermatologist as I was so confused about how this had literally happened overnight to my skin. The doctors told me that my hormones had changed and these were no longer the right set for my 19 year old self. I have now switched to Dianette 7/8 months ago and my skin is really good for the most part of the month but i'll still get a little breakout most months. Yasmin is a great pill for controlling slightly messed up hormones, but beware, if you're prone to acne Yasmin probably will not control seriously messed up hormones and you may find you have to switch to something stronger such as Dianette. If you have serious acne. I'll be switching off Dianette in a few months and will go back to yasmin hoping to get my skin to how it was for the first 3 years which was the best its ever been!!!!! Would definitely recommend, if it works for another 3 years for me like it did at first i'll be so happy :)

Birth control is suppressing your androgen levels, it is playing around with a very delicate balance in your body, as soon as you come off again beware having horrible breakouts for literally years... I'd recommend getting off it ASAP.
