Pros:

Didn't get knocked up. Score.

Cons:

I was prescribed this when I was 19 and living in Florida and now 10 years and 5000 miles later, I've gained 40 pounds from it.

I recently went off because its not healthy to have your body assume you're in a constant state of pregnancy and therefore the ovaries won't release eggs. Take into account that in studies, women on average gained 7-10 pounds a year on Yasmin. I never got acne or weird werewolf-like hair growth and it did the job. Initially I lost about 10 pounds because I'd be so nauseaus after taking it, but oh, that soon ended. The price started at $25 for me and before I left for Ireland 3 years ago it was $65 a month. The government should be paying me for being responsible and not bringing random children into the world like others.

Pros:

My period come RIGHT on time. Light period. Skin is better than before.

Cons:

I was on Diane 35 for about 7 months. And I gained about 10-15 pounds. And it helped my skin, but I wanted to see if Yasmin 28 could be better. Yasmin also made me gain/stay the same weight. But Yasmin is helping with my skin. It is not TOTALLY clear

I like this product. And will most likely stay on it because I hate switching pills. Works well for my skin. And keeps my breakouts to a minimum ( although I do still get breakouts now and then).

Pros:

Obviously this pill is very different for me. I have lost a lot of weight. was 125 now almost 100. My mood is pretty much the same.

Cons:

It hasn't done anything for my skin, which is why I started taking it.

It's supposed to help clear my skin and hasn't...yet. Just makes my periods normal.
February 12, 2009

Pros:

Regulates period, Balances hormones, clearer skin

Cons:

Taking a pill everyday, Not cheap (even with insurance), Takes a while for results, Possible initial break out

When I had my baby over a year ago my face was frightening. My hormones were wacked, and it lasted even longer cause I breastfed. I had never had such terrible skin in my life. I had tried Yasmin in the past for a couple years and remembered that my skin was pretty good while on it. The minute I stopped breastfeeding I got on it and couldn't wait to get help. After a few months I started to break out less and less and now I am clear. It takes time to work and you have to have patience. There is no miracle product that will cure you overnight. Obviously this will only help if your acne is hormonal related. Use this and a good skin care regimen and it should really work for you.

Pros:

Obviously not getting pregnant.

Cons:

Moodiness, breast tenderness, skin is the worse it's ever been but I'm on week 4 so doctor says hormones need to balance out before I see clear skin, he said could be 3 months!

I don't take the placebo pills my doctor said it was safe to skip those and just take continue to take the pill. I will have to wait and see if my skin clears up.

January 14, 2009

Pros:

Better concentration: I had severe ADHD before I went on Yasmin and now it seems to help me sit still for awhile. It also has made my boobs bigger and more firm

Cons:

My husband just asked me this morning if I had more of a belly. My hunger level is stabilized now and I'm not starving every 2 hours now but the first 2 weeks I wanted to eat everything in sight. I also seem to be more depressed.

Yasmin is a good choice if you don't mind your weight fluctuating a bit- just work out with it and the weight gain shouldn't be a problem. I am definitely more moody now than I was before and will cry at the drop of a hat but I'm going to stick it out for 3 months on it to see how I like it. My hunger is now under control and I'm excited to see what it will do for my light acne. Yasmin has been a good starter pill (First time on BC).

Pros:

decrease in acne..

Cons:

depression, weight gain, mood swings, nausea, vomitting, and more.

I was on Yasmin for a few months and it was my first time being on birth control and it was crazy. I gained like 15 pounds in just a few short months. Also i would cry for no reason and was really moody especially towards my bf. It made me feel like i was bloated and i even looked like i was too. Its all different tho in every one. But it def was not right for me so my gyno put me of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and its a million times better than Yasmin. I lost weight and my acne does not even exist. :)
