Pros:

Did not get pregnant made my breasts lot bigger

Cons:

Awful Acne, mood swings, loss of sex drive

For the last year that I have been taking Yasmin & Ocella (I am 30 and never had issues with acne before including when I was a teen) my acne has become unbearable. It is along my cheeks and hairline. For a while I thought it had to be something other than birth control pills (chemicals in hair shampoo, lotion, face soap, etc). I kept getting acne in the exact same locations causing awful scarring. I went off Yasmin this month and my skin already feels a million times better and is starting to feel like it is going back to normal. I know everyone's hormones are different but I have been on the pill (different types) since I was 16 and I know this reaction is not normal. I will never use this crap again and plan on letting my Dr. know about my experiment (getting off it to see if my skin cleared up).

Pros:

weight loss 5 lbs, decreased appetite

Cons:

severe cystic acne to cheeks and near hairline (hardly experienced acne to cheeks)

I have been on Yasmin for 2 complete months now. I got on it to improve my acne but it seems as if its gotten worse. My MD states it takes a while to work and it might get worse before it gets better. I don't think I can take it getting any worse than now. I don't just get 1 pimple its a cluster of 3-4 in an area. Did anyone experince the same problem? Has it resolved?

Pros:

None

Cons:

Acne, longer period, bad mood

I started using Yasmin pills a week ago, and I still have my period. It is unusual for me tho, it always lasts for 4-5 days. I have also noticed a few spots on my face and I had my face complitely clean for about a year, after I stopped using this fondation. I was wondering, is it ok to stop taking the pills now, after 7 days, or I have to wait to take all 21? Is my face is going to become even worses after that? Please help, answer, this is killing me.

Pros:

Cramping wasn't as bad as other pills. Didn't seem to effect my mood. Great marketing.

Cons:

Horrible skin. Cystic acne on my jawline and cheeks. Whiteheads around my chin and increased blackheads.

It depends on your individual hormones. I went on Yasmine because I heard it made your skin clearer. I was having some problems with OrthoTricycline (mainly cramping, bloating) and OrthTricycline-Lo (same plus acne), and Yasmine made my skin the worst it have ever been and had to start Retin-A. I thought it would get worst then better, but after 10 months and no results I switched to Desogen recently and have already seen an improvement.

Pros:

I used to get the world's worst periods, with stay in bed, flat on your back, with a hot waterbottle on your abdomen type cramps. Yasmine freed me from that.

Cons:

I went on yasmine, and within 3 months I gained 70 lbs and could never loose it. I'm now the meanest person I know. I'm hungry all the time and don't want to be bothered with anyone. I don't even want to be intimate with my husband.

I went of Yasmine last week and already feel 100% better. I got back my desire to be with my husband. He says I'm not a wench anymore. And I've already lost 5 lbs. If you've had problems with other BC, I definately don't recommend this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay away

If I could give this pill 0 stars, I would. I started this pill after I had mild acne, looking back at it now it’s nothing compared to what I have now. Back pain, feeling nauseous constantly, no energy, constantly tired and worst of all my cystic acne I have gained from this. There is not 1 area or my face that doesn’t have a huge boil like spot on it, it’s made me depressed, given me anxiety, I don’t want to leave my home and I have had to quit my job. I am embarrassed to go out with friends, I used to always be out and always talk to new people but my confidence has been shattered by this pill and no amount of make up can make it look any better. I developed hearing loss in both ears, which the drs have linked to this pill. It has been 6 weeks and I haven’t had any hearing, I have just finished my 2nd month on the pill. Avoid.

Did you stop using it? My daughter is having the same experience after 6 weeks so we are thinking of stopping and hoping her skin improves. What did you decide to do?

BEWARE! DOES NOT WORK FOR ACNE OR PCOS!

I wish I listened to the bad reviews about this pill. I just wasted £30 on this crap. Before starting this pill I had oily skin, blackheads on nose and very mild acne, (mostly in the sides of my face), little acne on arms and a little on my back and it wasn’t too noticeable. I decided to take the pill for 3 months to reduce the oily skin and it hasn’t made my skin any better (my skin has gone much worse) . It has also caused the peach fuzz on my chin to darken slightly as well as my upper lip hairs to darken slightly.  My skin is now not good. It is still oily and I have visible acne on the sides of my face. Don’t take this pill for acne or PCOS BECAUSE FROM MY EXPERIENCE IT INCREASES TESTOSTERONE NOT DECREASES IT.

Poison
Was on a pill called Qlaira for a long time. Came off it due to irregular bleeding, and as ive suffered with my skin in the past, my doctor recommended lucette (cheap yasmin) . All i can say is my skin hasnt been this bad since i was a teen, and these period pains and heavy bleeding are unreal. Its poison. Im actually fuming. In light of my headache (literally) ive decided that i will not be using an oral contraceptive again. Ive tried everything and this has taught me a valuable lesson, to let nature do its thing. Condoms will have to do....i am.not going to damage my body or my skin any more. I really hope this stops someone going through what i have! Not worth it girls!
