Pros:

NONE THAT COULD EVER OUTWEIGH THE CONS

Cons:

you know how real fast at the end of the commercial they say may cause blood clots, heart attack and stroke... well you never think that can happen to a 24 year old right? Yasmin was prescribed to me at age 16 to help regulate my period and 8 years later I found myself in the ICU and had a foot long DVT that i had to have surgically removed. I warn women please research the drugs you are given. Yaz/Yasmin need to be taken off the market.

Had someone made me aware that studies have been done and found that yaz/yasmin had replaced the estrogen hormone with another hormone that makes this birth control 6-10 times more likely to kill a woman under 30 than any other birth control on the market?? I may have asked for another pill. Please be aware of the risks of things you put in your body. I was not and i will forever be burdened with blood clots and far more symptoms than I would ever want anyone to have to live with,

Pros:

Less Acne
Lighter Periods

Cons:

Galbladder diseased - Had surgery to remove it.

Terrible for the rest of your body. Causes NUMEROUS problems. I had no idea that my birth control could cause me to have galbladder disease at 16 years old. (I'm now 18) Please, do NOT take this birthcontrol. This or yaz. I am currently in a law suit against them for my surgery and hopefully I get it covered. That wasn't cheap! Stay away from this birth control!

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

THIS PILL IS UNDER REVIEW IN US - Apparently the percentage of people forming Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is VERY high

I ended up with DVT and when I got out of hospital my doctor advised me that this pill was under review in the US. I have been using Yasmin for over 8 years. Obviously I am no longer on it!!!

Pros:

Increase in breast size

Cons:

The worst moods I have ever had
Started breaking out only after a few days
Constant nausea and occasional vomiting
Bloated
Constipated
Fatigue
Bleeding
Breast soreness
Very active appetite, when I don't want to vomit I want to eat the entire kitchen!

I read these reviews and even though most of them were bad I ignored it. I thought that my body would respond difirently. Well one week after starting Yasmin I regret ever buying this product. The day after I started the pill I woke up with severe nausea and I vomited several times throughout the day. My skin changed at first a bit and then some more. My pores enlarged, my skin didn't feel smooth anymore and I stared getting pimples on my forehead and mouth area. The pimples are fairly pink and red so it's hard to cover up with make up. I never had skin problems so this was all new to me. I am constantly bloated and constipated, I am very skinny and in good shape but I am so bloated that I actually look 5 months pregnant! You can even see it through my shirt. Some of the above mentioned I can actually bear, but I am going off this pill because of the severe impact it has had on my moods. I literally feel like crying all day long. I am very touchy and sad most of the time, it's pms multiplied by a thousand! And it has trated taking effect on my relationship. Things I would usually laugh at and find funny now irritate me, I get angry in a matter of seconds about the stupidest things. The mood swings are constant and very bad. I feel very depressed and I'm actually a very cheerful person so this is really bad for me. I know you that most who will read this will think I'm exagerating, but I'm really not. I don't even feel like the same person anymore and it's only been a week. Today I am going off Yasmin and I'm not planning on starting again! The side effects are far worse that the symptoms you have with your period. And this supposedly goes on for months before getting better. IF it even does! So girls, I would NOT recomend this at all! It really messes you up!

Pros:

Clearer face initially
Bigger boobs
Lighter period

Cons:

NO sex drive
Anxiety/ emotional side effects
SPIDER VEINS
Cystic acne after stopping pill

I first started taking Yasmin when I was 18 to clear up acne and so I would have lighter periods. Unfortunately this pill has given me nothing but trouble, as soon as I started taking it I started having horrible mood swings, was overly emotional , crying all the time, angry It was like I was PMSing 24/7! I decided to wait it out and stick with it as my doctor said those were some side effects. Long story short I stopped taking it after being on it for about 2 years and I honestly regret ever going on it. My side effects never went away while I was on it and I was miserable.Birth control pills have been known to cause spider veins and now I have small clusters of spider veins ( keep in mind I'm 20 and spider veins do not run in my family ) and HORRIBLE cystic acne on my jawline and cheeks. The acne started about a month after I went off of yasmin.. Hopefully this review will help someone and I don't think Yasmin is bad it just didn't work out for me :)

Pros:

Clear skin

Cons:

Headaches, made me depressed, and really dries the skin especially the lips.

I have had acne for about 12 years now. My acne has ranged from moderate to severe flare-ups throughout. Having tried so many types of topical treatments (including bp), skin peels and antibiotics with temporary successes here and there, i finally decided to try the pill. i was put on diannette, which cleared my skin up completely but the dr said i couldnt take it for more than the 1.5 yrs i had been using it. so he switched me to yasmin. it maintained my clear skin. however instantly i noticed that my skin became a lot drier. my lips began to take on this horrible grainy texture. i also lost a lot of weight but i think that was mostly because the pill wouldnt allow my body to retain water. i also suffered a huge amount of hair loss (about two-thirds) and felt depressed a lot of the time. after about 9 months into it, i made the decision to STOP cold turkey as i no longer wanted to pump my body full of unnatural chemicals. it's now almost been 3 months. post-pill side effects so far have been really oily skin and hair! if i touched my face with my hands, i seriously had enough oil on them to give myself a good moisturising! also my hair was dripping with oil by the end of the day - pre-pill my hair could go 2 days without washing!! i also started to get painful red bumps around my mouth/chin area and a lot of white heads - the dreaded post-pill break out!! i've been quite lucky with my periods returning, although others havent been so lucky. my moods are back to normal and i am so relaxed lol. so anyway now im taking 75mg of zinc gluconate and 3000mg of EPO every day - which seems to be working quite well (but will save that for another post)! Natural is the best way forward. Clear skin is not worth the damage that this pill will cause to your body!!

Pros:

- It did its job. Taken it for about a year and haven't gotten pregnant.

Cons:

- No sex drive.
- Weight gain (about 20 lbs).
- Tender breasts.
- Always tired.
- Digestive problems.
- More acne.

I decided today that I'm going to stop taking Yasmin. I've been taking it for about a year and at first I didn't really notice any kind of side effects. The only thing was a bit of nausea for the first few days of active pills. But now that I look back over how my body has changed in the past year, I hate it. I feel disgusting and tired almost all the time. And I've heard people say that people who gain weight when they're on the pill... That it's not actually the pill, it's the people taking it. But I tell you, if anything I've been eating better and getting more physical activity in the past year than I have since high school. And yeah, I didn't get pregnant, but I also never feel like having sex, which is definitely something new. Also, I never really had acne. But now it's bothersome and I feel like I should wash my face 3-4 times a day.

Pros:

none

Cons:

gave me cystic acne

I broke out after taking Yasmin for 2 weeks. I had just gotten over my teenage acne and had a few red marks and then i took Yasmin (for menstrual reasons) and i broke out like crazy. I stopped immediately (around the 3 week pills) and it started to clear after a couple months. but i am now left with worse scars and red marks. It may work for you but it didnt for me (im a 16 year old caucasian if that helps)

Pros:

Fuller Breasts
Babyless

Cons:

Gave me acne.
Weight gain.
Sore breasts.
Back pain.
Nausea.

I've been taking yasmin for two packs now, and I've never felt so ugly. My face used to be pretty clear, and now it's covered in small whiteheads and fewer, but larger pimples. I felt bloated all the time and I gained weight while on the this pill. It generally sucked.
