Pros:

Clearer skin, no babies, regular period. Happy with it. :] Also, it helps me remember what day of the week it is... haha! How sad is that! ...I'm forgetful.

Cons:

Breast tenderness, headaches and some joint pain (only in the first week! These have gone away now). My skin is a little bit more oily than it was before, but no big deal.

My skin has never been too bad, I'd generally get 6 or 7 really angry, deep, red spots at a time. Since I've been on Yasmin I haven't gotten ANY big spots on my face. I've had a few little tiny ones, but they're VERY infrequent, and they're going away. Overall, my complexion looks much, much nicer. For those of you who are worried about the side-effects, please don't rely solely on the reviews here! If you're worried about taking it but you want to give it a try, START A DIARY. Write down your weight and moods daily, any symptoms you think are unusual for you, and keep track of it. DON'T be scared to try it. Everything works differently for everybody. I have not had any terrible side-effects and I was terrified to even use Yasmin because of the reviews here. I haven't gained an ounce of weight, my moods are the same, my breasts are a little tender but not too bad, and my skin is lovely. Like I said, it could work for you! Please don't rule it out based on other people's e

Pros:

Clearer skin, alleviated cramps, and no babies! :)

Cons:

Nausea, terrible headaches, fatigue.

I've only ever used one other type of BC, which was Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and it was a nightmare for me. It made my acne the worst that it had ever been in my life. The doctor switched me to Yasmin and my skin has cleared up considerably. The past month I've been experiencing terrible headaches at least every other day (I've been using Yasmin for four months now) and I could be wrong, but I believe it is attributed to Yasmin. I haven't changed my diet, my exercise routine, nothing. I think Yasmin is the culprit. I also get nauseous every time I start the pack, for the first couple of weeks at the most. I've never thrown up, but just experience nausea. I did a lot of research into what BC I wanted to be switched to, and even though there are plenty of terrible reviews regarding Yasmin, there are just as terrible reviews about every other BC out there. Every BC is going to give you one side effect or another, its inevitable. Everyone is different, I think this one works for me.

Pros:

Didn't get pregnant, clear skin, lighter periods

Cons:

Vaginal dryness, loss of sex drive, cervical erosion, dry skin, dry/brittle hair, dry eyes, hair loss, night sweats, hot flashes and decrease in skin elasticity (I was 20-21 at the time)

For me it was very DRYING and AGEING. The horrible side effects have however fortunately mostly disappeared since I stopped taking Yasmin. Good - if you want an abstinence pill that simulates the menopause!

Pros:

bigger boobs, not pregnant, great complexion

Cons:

complete decrease in sex drive (so much so that im thinking about changing... and its only been a month), boobs are tender

I thought it was working great until I started totally losing my sex drive. This is not at all what I expected. I cant orgasm, sex isnt enjoyable, and i was never like this. Im even contemplating stopping bcp altogether.

Pros:

Definitely cleared up my acne after 6 months of use. No pregnancies!!! Relatively inexpensive. Lighter, 3 day periods!!!

Cons:

Some depression at first, but that faded. Some breast pain, like when you get your period.

I got on Yasmin because I was desperate for an acne solution, and heard that progesterone could help. I had tried Ortho Tri- Cyclen, but that didn't work. Pro-Active, and other acne treatments made my skin worse. So, I vowed to try Yasmin for a year and if it didn't work I'd just give up. After 6 mos. my skin was sooo much better, and I was sooo much happier. My periods even got lighter, and used to last 7 days, and then only 3 days. Also I wasn't worried about getting pregnant, which was a plus since I was really only using Yasmin for my acne. After a year my skin was almost completely clear...but then my insurance changed and wouldn't cover it anymore..so since my skin was clear I just went off of it. After 3 months I started breaking out again, annnd getting lots of abcesses. After about 6 mos. of not being on Yasmin my skin is totally back to crappy acne take over. So, I just decided I'm going to pay $66 a month for it..it'll be worth it to me, if I can have clear skin again.

Pros:

Skin has become smoother in rough places. Havent got pregnant

Cons:

Worse breakouts ive ever had! Depression. Low sex drive. Leg cramps. Migranes

I been on this nearly 3 months now... first month was fine, second month I got awful leg cramps and migranes for the first two weeks and my back acne which is usually mild went awful! big horrible boils. Now Im on my third month, no leg cramps, migranes are still here, my back is much much better, boils have gone and its getting clearer BUT... my face i awful I am waking up every morning at the moment with atleast two new spots! and they are big and ugly, so its really getting me down. I hope it will do like what my back did and get better next month. If it doesnt IM SWITCHING! Ive never felt so ugly in all my life

Pros:

no weight gain, no depression, regular periods, not that hard to take a little pill

Cons:

~been on it for almost 7 months and haven't noticed an improvement in acne that i could attribute to the pill
~it takes a while for the effects to kick in (3-6 months they say) so i will wait...it hasn't made acne worse though

My acne spots seem to heal more slowly...leaving hyperpigmentation marks even for the tiniest pimple. i never had this problem before...i don't know if this is due to this pill or something else I lost much weight..i think the pill has contributed to a more sensitive/ irritable stomach I would recommend this pill for people wanting a bc method and some help with acne. I think after 6-12 months you will see a difference...give it time and don't believe the bad reviews you see here Bottom line is: every pill/ regimen whatever will react differently on different people. This pill might work wonders for you, but it should be accompanied by a healthier lifestyle choice too (regular exercise, drinking lots of water and green tea, staying away from sugar/processed foods, having a simple cleaning regimine)

Ive been on YASMIN for over a year and i love it! It helps some of my acne ( i still hae some) andi have lighter periods =) It is great for women who experience heavy periods and severe cramps during PMS. This month my pharmacy switched me to the generic brand OCELLA and i dont like it at all....i have experienced bloating & a differnt kind of acne around my face, almost like a rash. Im goin to switch back to YASMIN as soon as thismonth is over!

Pros:

helps with acne, no weight gain

Cons:

more expensive than Ocella

DO NOT TAKE OCELLA! For me, it was 10 bucks cheaper than Yasmin but it made me bloated, increased my appetite, and didn't do anything to help with my acne. There's a huuuuge difference. I noticed it after taking Ocella for only 1 month, and I immediately switched back to Yasmin. It's well worth the extra money each month.

Pros:

No weight gain, lighter periods, less acne

Cons:

Nausea every day so I take the pill at night and sleep through it.

This is the only contraceptive that has worked for me in many years. When I go off it I feel terrible and run down. I do get emotional and eat everything in sight about a week before my period, but that is probably just me and not the pill.
