Pros:

NONE THAT COULD EVER OUTWEIGH THE CONS

Cons:

you know how real fast at the end of the commercial they say may cause blood clots, heart attack and stroke... well you never think that can happen to a 24 year old right? Yasmin was prescribed to me at age 16 to help regulate my period and 8 years later I found myself in the ICU and had a foot long DVT that i had to have surgically removed. I warn women please research the drugs you are given. Yaz/Yasmin need to be taken off the market.

Had someone made me aware that studies have been done and found that yaz/yasmin had replaced the estrogen hormone with another hormone that makes this birth control 6-10 times more likely to kill a woman under 30 than any other birth control on the market?? I may have asked for another pill. Please be aware of the risks of things you put in your body. I was not and i will forever be burdened with blood clots and far more symptoms than I would ever want anyone to have to live with,

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

THIS PILL IS UNDER REVIEW IN US - Apparently the percentage of people forming Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is VERY high

I ended up with DVT and when I got out of hospital my doctor advised me that this pill was under review in the US. I have been using Yasmin for over 8 years. Obviously I am no longer on it!!!

Pros:

As a birth control method

Cons:

-HAIR THINNING
-extreme exhaustion
-difficulty wearing contact lenses

At first I wasn't sure why my hair was thinning and though maybe my shampoo. However, after looking into my Yasmin, I found many many reviews from women who experienced the same thing. And then, after reading about the potential side effects, I realized exactly WHY I was experiencing the different things I was going through. I told my younger sister about it and she was like "THAT was the BC I was on last christmas - remember, when I was sleeping like 13 hrs a day!" Bottom Line? It isn't worth the side effects - particularly the hair thinning and difficulty wearing lenses. Yasmin truly should be recalled OR the side effects should include a more extensive list.

Pros:

None: it was horrible!

Cons:

Severe cysts!

I tried Yasmine because I read that it can cure acne. Well for me, it made my mild acne horrible! I never had cysts before, and this gave me massive cysts on my chin and even between my eyebrows! Well my acne is not hormonal and my periods are not irregular. Probably that's why it didn't help me, instead caused much more damage!

Pros:

Weight loss, acne control for the first two years, birth control

Cons:

Intense painful deep acne in the 3rd and ongoing years, poor circulation, always cold, intense mood swings and deep depression and anxiety, pain in the legs indicating possible blood clots.

Bottom line is I would STRONGLY advise finding another method of birth control/acne prevention, anything really besides this drug. Not only are there obvious possible side effects such as the blood clotting, but I could not believe the emotional roller coaster I was on while on this medication. I was seriously considering going to therapy for depression ad anxiety because I could not understand why I was always feeling so anxious and having weekly meltdowns for no reason. Since switching I have an actual appetite, I am remarkably happier, have less acne and a much warmer body temperature! I understand there are risks with each oral contraceptive you choose, I just highly advise otherwise especially if it's simply for acne prevention!

Pros:

Less Acne
Lighter Periods

Cons:

Galbladder diseased - Had surgery to remove it.

Terrible for the rest of your body. Causes NUMEROUS problems. I had no idea that my birth control could cause me to have galbladder disease at 16 years old. (I'm now 18) Please, do NOT take this birthcontrol. This or yaz. I am currently in a law suit against them for my surgery and hopefully I get it covered. That wasn't cheap! Stay away from this birth control!

Pros:

Fuller Breasts
Babyless

Cons:

Gave me acne.
Weight gain.
Sore breasts.
Back pain.
Nausea.

I've been taking yasmin for two packs now, and I've never felt so ugly. My face used to be pretty clear, and now it's covered in small whiteheads and fewer, but larger pimples. I felt bloated all the time and I gained weight while on the this pill. It generally sucked.

Pros:

I'm not pregnant

Cons:

Tiredness
Hormonal- stresses and emotional
Serious acne flare up

The only pro I could find is that I'm not pregnant. However this could just be down to the fact that the state of my face makes me avoid any contact with boys at the moment. I've taken two packs now and towards the end of the first one I experienced a breakout of small itchy whiteheads all over my jawline and cheeks. I took my 7 day break and then decided to start another pack. One week into that one and my chin has exploded with large cyst like pimples. I regret taking yasmin, and even if this is an initial breakout, I was a lot happier with my light acne before i started this pill!

Made my acne 100000 million times worse
Before I started this pill I didn't suffer with skin as badly as I do now. I had mild acne, however this caused severe cystic acne especially around my jaw it was horrendous. My derm told me to stop it was causing so much harm.
