Pros:

My acne cleared up in just two weeks after using it! And i have tried EVERYTHING before (mino, doxy, tazorac, differin, etc)

Cons:

Im hungry allll the time.

I was on orthotricyclen before and this is so much incredibly better. I dont have mood swings, cramps, etc. Its the best BC i've tried and best for acne. Do NOT go on the generic though.

Pros:

Short and light withdrawal bleed, totally clear skin, cheap

Cons:

Cramps and mood swings one day a month, possible lower sex drive

I switched to this from Diane 35, which I was on for years with no real effect. I haven't had a breakout since. My chin is clear for the first time in years. No cystic pimples during the off-week! My periods are half what they were on Diane, though I do get "down" for one day before it starts. My breasts are softer and more sensitive, but not bigger. Haven't gained weight for the same reason that it sends me to the bathroom every hour or two- it has a diuretic effect. It might be contributing to migraines. So, not perfect, but close enough. Worth a shot for mild to moderate acne.

Pros:

clears acne (85% improvement), reduces mood swings, no cramps

Cons:

marginal weight gain (3-5lbs), appetite increases, depressive mood

if you're considering yasmin to clear up your skin, this is THE birth control pill. it may take up to 6 months to really see the difference, but it's worth the wait, so hang in there!! it only continues to get better from there. the side effects are minimal...i find that my mood is much more subdued overall (don't have as much charisma) but it's way better than going through 2 weeks of terrible, life impacting mood swings (yes, i have PMDD). for those of you battling acne (as i was, and tried EVERYTHING in the book except acutane), i highly recommend seeing your derm about spironolactone. this medication is safe, has no side effects and is especially formulated for adult hormonal acne. (in fact, acutane doesn't work on patients that have hormonal acne). i just started taking the medication 3 weeks ago, and i've never had clearer skin!!! you're supposed to give it 2-4 months to see the entire effect, but i can't even believe how quickly it works!! check it out!

Pros:

Cleared up my acne, no weight gain

Cons:

Have lost my sex drive / making it difficult with my boyfriend as he does not understand

This pill is great..... I have been on Yasmin for 4 months and it has completely cleared up my acne and changed my life! I have not experienced any weight gain either which i did with other pills. However my sex drive has been reduced, which is making my partner very confused as to how the pill has this affect on me! I guess is clear skin is your PRIORITY which mine was then this is the pill for you!! (it does take a few months to get in your sstem though before you see the effects with you skin and acne). Be patient it will be worth the wait!!

Pros:

clears my hormonal acne (cystic and non cystic)
bigger breasts

Cons:

constantly SPOTTING! I spot like 3 weeks out of the month and just when it stops I start my period.
makes my stomach VERY upset once a month

It's VERY expensive without insurance but besides that and the stomach pains and spotting, it really clears up my face!

Pros:

Weight loss (& no bloating around period), clear skin, no babies!!

Cons:

zero libido (which kinda defeats the purpose of taking birth control!), moodiness/irritability, lack of motivation.

I was on Brenda last year to help clear my skin, which worked but I put on 5 kilos! Doc recommended Yasmin as it helps with fluid retention other pills can cause. It worked great for me, lost the 5 kilos and really cleared up my skin. I went off the pill for most of this year to give my body a break from the hormones but am getting married in Oct so decided to go back onto Yasmin. I have been taking it again for about 3 months now, I have lost around another 3 kilos and my skin is already much better but not completely clear yet. My face is great but still getting breakouts on my back and chest (although MUCH better than before). I hope it will clear it completely cos it did last time I was on it. Hopefully in the next two months my skin will be fixed so i can have clear skin for my wedding!

Pros:

slightly better mood, regular periods, decreased facial hair, less acne

Cons:

nausea, breast tenderness, bloating, slight weight gain (but I love junk food,so...), slight increase in urinating at times (it is a diuretic)

I've been on Yasmin since June 2006. I've read horror stories, but so far, everything's been okay. I hope it'll stay that way. I haven't tried coming off of them yet, so I'm kind of worried when that time comes.

Pros:

Great skin, PCOS symptoms under control, a lot less moody.

Cons:

extreme nausea.

I am 18 years old. I have only been using yasmin for about 10 days but its is a lifesaver!! My doctor put me on yasmin for PCOS and so far it is definitely doing its job.The pain and bloating i had in my lower abdominal area has vanished, my skin is awesome,it has never been this good in my life, its usually oily, pimple ridden with huge pores. Im also a lot less moody( to everyone's relief-whew!!) I do have occasional nausea however its got a lot better after the first few days. I tried microgynon before and it wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't great my skin sucked, i was very nauseous and painfully bloated and my PCOS wasn't any better.I LOVE YASMIN!! will keep you posted..
