Pros:

Weight loss and loss of large appetite due to mirena IUD!

Cons:

Felt sick the first two months!

This is a great pill that doesn't give you weight gain. It takes a few months to adapt to it and then you will be fine. I don't recommend the generic. It took it for a month and gained a few pounds with an increased appetite.

Pros:

Regular, Lighter periods. Prevents pregnancy.

Cons:

Slight weight gain. Always feel hungary. Some mood swings.

I have been using Yasmin for about a year now. So far, no babbies. I have gained about 8 pounds since using the pill. I tend to feel hungary all the time and have some mood swings. My periods and are more regular and a lot shorter and lighter. The pill has helped to slightly clear my skin, but I still have a few random breakouts every so often.

Pros:

No pregnancy, very little water retention

Cons:

Extreme tiredness, leg cramps, tearfulness

I've only been on this birth control pill for a month so I'm hoping it will help clear up my PCOS-related acne. I used to take Dianette for that, but having gained 14 lbs in just 3 months I decided to come off it before having a break and trying something new. I'm waiting to see whether my acne and other symptoms will clear up as I've been led to believe. Birth control is free in the UK so I don't have to pay for this.

Pros:

no babies, weight loss (15lbs!) and no hair loss

Cons:

NONE!

I love it, DO NOT SWITCH TO THE GENERIC OCELLA. IT SUCKS. WEIGHT GAIN, SKIN OILY, DEPRESSION, EXHAUSTION. STAY AWAY, YASMIN WORTH THE EXTRA TEN BUCKS!

Pros:

Clears skin. No weight gain.

Cons:

Once you stop taking this after using if for an extended length of time...your acne may be worse than it was before you started this BCP. Be warned!!!

Do not take unless you have to! I am in my mid 20's and I've never had to deal with acne like this until now. I took this for BC purposes. I had great skin prior to using this; only one or two monsters a month. My skin stayed the same throughout the 3 years I was on it. I stopped this 9 months ago and now I have moderate acne and scarring.

Pros:

Not pregnant! You get to treat yourself to a larger bra size.

Cons:

Like any birth control I've taken, I get mood swings. Once I switched to taking it in the morning to taking it at night before I sleep, I was feeling much better. The first couple weeks that I took it, my period lasted 2 weeks...but I'm feeling fine.

My skin has always been fine. I have broken out with birth control in the past. Yasmin helped me maintain my clear skin. My libido actually went up because I've been losing weight on this pill. I'm 30 so I've tried a few other types of birth control. This one is my favorite so far. I plan to continue taking it.

Pros:

not on it long enough

Cons:

not on it long enough

Everyone needs to know that everyones body works a little different. That is why there are over 40 different kinds of birth control pills. So far, this one works great for me. I trust my doctor, and if it started to not work for me, I would tell him. He would try another one. I agree that sometimes certain meds aren't great with some people, but telling people that they souldn't go on something because of your experience is wrong. Please if your doctor says to try it, try it then if it is not working, switch!! Good luck.

Pros:

no weightgain, no mood swings, keeps acne under control/clearer skin, increased sex drive

Cons:

none that I found what so ever

Yasmin by far is the best contraceptive method out there. I have recently tried Daine 35 just for the sake of it and well realized that it was a HUGE mistake. In two months I have gained approximately 3 pounds, and I am a fairly active person nonetheless. I have also noticed some MAJOR moodswings, LOSS of labido and strange signs of depression. Please girls your body is sensitive as is so don't ruin it any further by taking Daine. Stick to Yasmin if it works well for you. Hormones are a tricky thing so educate yourself as much as you can and tune into your body. I recommend reading the book Sexy Hormones if all fails. Best of luck!

Pros:

Yasmin has kept me having short periods and I dont gain weight beause i dont eat alot.

Cons:

I hate that they have made a generic because I think the brand is better. Im getting blood clots also

I would recommend this product if u dont want a baby. It has stopped me from having any more babies. I just dont like the generic and i have asked the doctor to give me brand but that hasnt worked yet. I have used yasmin for almost 4 years now and my only down fall is the generic. Just recently they came out with a generic for the yasmin. Since i have to use generic now it makes me have cramps and i didnt have cramps taking the yasmin. The doctor had told me that there is a difference between the generic and the brand. My insurance doesnt want to pay for the brand anymore unless the doctor approves it.
