Cons:

Nausa in the mornings, took awhile to kick in. The price and more frequent headaches

Pros:

Finally...this stuff is working. I am on month four. It was prescribed to me for my adult hormonal acne. The first three months were horrible. I can happily report I have had ZERO new acne now that I have started my fourth pack.

Cons:

Horrible initial breakout. I was miserable, but I didn't give up. It took three months for Yasmin to get my hormones under control and for everything to stabilize.

Works great for hormonal acne. Try it, but give it time and be prepared for things to get worse before they get better. Yasmin has completely cleared me up and I had moderate, occasional cystic acne before.

Pros:

Don't have to use any other BC methods

Cons:

-Random aches and pains (throbing legs and arms, brest tenderness).
-Immediately broke out on my face after first couple of weeks.

I'm almost done with my first month and am a little bit worried after reading other people's horror stories with Yasmine, but I think I'll stick with it and see if my skin clears up in the next couple of months. But if anything else weird happens to me before that, I'm done with it!

CLEARED MY SKIN AFTER 12 YEARS OF ACNE!
THIS PILL IS AMAZING! I've had cystic acne all my life been on accutane twice which worked but acne returned. Been on loads of antibiotics and topical creams nothing worked. I tried yasmin years ago but didnt have success but in a last-ditch attempt i decided to try again. My acne has always been cystic all over my chin, jaw, hairline, neck and back. Ive nearly finished my first cycle of lucette (used to be called yasmin) and my face has cleared up dramatically. I am still getting painful cysts on my back and a few on my jawline but my face is almost completely clear. I am in shock at how quickly its cleared up my skin and I hope it continues in this positive direction for the next few months! I will update this post next month to see if there has been further improvement.

Finishing first pack... acne is only getting worse
Asking a question for people who this pill worked for clearing acne: was it normal that acne became more active in the first month? ive been on accutane a year ago, so having pimples again is painful... however, they arent cystic or anything its bearable.... but my skin has been getting worse, should i keep taking the pill or ditch it?

keep taking it. That is definitely not long enough to see if it will work for you. You have to hang in there as difficult as it is.

Caused Horrible Effects Coming Off
Took this (in generic Ocella form) from ages 19-23. It worked great on my acne, but when I was 22 I developed migraines and high blood pressure, a risk factor for having a stroke on Yasmin. When I went off it, it caused horrible cystic acne, worse than anything I had before, that has been dominating my life for the past two years, as well as the loss of 1/3 of my hair and horrible mental effects (crying, extreme anxiety and sadness) as well as weight gain. PLEASE look around on the post-pill breakout forums, or just google "acne after stopping Yasmin" before taking this. It is a horrible drug and there is no way to avoid the bad effects when you stop, which you'll have to do eventually. DO NOT use hormonal birth control for acne, it just makes it worse in the end. Should come with a warning label: you'll look great while you take it, but be bald and cystic when you come off...

Yasmin- try it it worked for me!

Pros:

100% CLEARER SKIN
Bigger boobs

Cons:

Mood swings (occasionally)
Weight gain

After trying and failing to treat my acne with Zineryt and Tetracycline, both which severely dried my skin out, it was suggested that I go on the pill to treat my acne. My acne was not cystic, but instead consisted of very small whiteheads that covered my entire face and back, leaving my skin bumpy, red and greasy. There was no immediate difference, but in 6 months I noticed a drastic improvement and within a year 90% of my acne had gone. Yes it took a year, but all the redness, bumps and whiteheads went, leaving only some scars and slight red pigmentation which it fading. I never picked my spots anyway so I think that also reduced the amount of scars 'left over'. I was 18 when I went on Yasmin, and I am now 20 and have been taking it for 2 and a half years. Some people may argue that I went on it when I reaching the end of puberty anyway, but my sister went on it at 16 for medical reasons and it cleared up her acne as well. When she went off it at 18, her acne returned (although not as severely) so I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are a teenager or in your early twenties. I continue even now with washing my face with Johnson's 'Clean and clear' blackhead cleaning scrub, and rub sudacrem on my 'problem areas', so my forehead and around my nose. I am planning on taking it for at least 2 more years, till I am sure that puberty has finished as I think my acne was probably hormonal. I started getting acne when I was 14, and it took 4 years before someone suggested the pill as a treatment and I am so glad it tried it. Yes it takes time, but my acne hasn't returned since so that proves to me Yasmin is still working. One thing I will mention is yes- Yasmin did trigger some mood swings (as in occasionally made me feel wayy more emotional) and yes I did put on weight- about half a stone. However I did put on weight straight to my boobs and butt so I was lucky in that respect but I think this varies on the person! For me, all this was worth going through if my skin improved, which it did.

Pros:

Not pregnant
No weight gain

Cons:

Bad break outs

I have been on Yasmin for a month now and the first two weeks I thought this was a miracle pill. My skin cleared up very fast and was less oily. I have started month two and I now have HORRIBLE cystic acne around my chin. It's very painful and embarrassing. I'm hoping it will clear up around month three because I can not take this. Although I haven't had any weight gain which is a positive!

Pros:

sore breast (might be growth)
no weight gain

Cons:

acne
tiredness
low sex drive

i got this pill because i heard that its one of the best, its ment to help your acne clear (my acne was very light, 1/2 pimples) + in some cases make your breast grow (which i loved). i was originally on the microgynon, but came off it because i was not sexually active, then heard about the yasmin pill from a friend. 2 weeks into taking the pill, my skin had broken out horribly! i thought it would only be a short side effect, but it didnt get better, i looked up on how to help clear acne, my acne has cleared up much better after using a flannel to wash my face day + night along with a antiseptic soap. then i would use bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) after, only at night & leave it there for up to a hour & wash off with cold water( this closes the pores). my best achievement was buying "ultra clear acne cream" on ebay, this product has been used only for 3 days + my skin in much smoother + pimples are shrunk over night. (this is used night and day). my only problem now is the scarring ive got from previous pimples. im on the hunt for a cure :D, i have decided to go back to microgynon when i have finished my 21 days on yasmin.

Pros:

it works birth control wise..

Cons:

since ive started taking this ive started getting pains and my heart beats faster. it really only made my acne worse. i was told to research it by a friend and discovered that its side effects are WAY terrible, and that it shoud actually have been recalled. it causes more things than it solves, including liver and kidney damage.

this form of preventing acne wouldnt be the best step to take.. its risks are greater than what it solves.
