Pros:

Glowing skin, no babies, killed my PMS and slightly bigger boobs.

Cons:

Cost ($50 w/out insurance), small weight gain, skin over entire body becomes drier so in winter I must moisturize a lot.

I wish I'd known about this pill sooner and avoided Estrostep FE altogether. It's very compatible with my system so it's perfect for me. I hope others find a pill that's complimentary for them.

Pros:

Seriously reduced my acne

Cons:

This is not a permanent solution if you even want to have children.

This totally works after a few months but again, it is not a permanent solution

Pros:

Controls PMS symptoms
regulates period
birthcontrol
clears skin with time

Cons:

Breakouts are MUCH worse the second month of taking this pill.

My 16 year old was put on Yasmine and Aczone for moderate to mild acne. She also had a somewhat irregular period and cramping. The period symptoms went away quickly and she had NO side effects such as weight gain. moodiness etc but The first month her skin broke out a little more but by the middle of month 2 she had many breakouts where she never had them before like on her cheeks. They were deep, large, red breakouts that took awhile to heal. The Aczone did not work at all but benzoil peroxide seemed to help. I asked the doc to the give her an antibiotic, Solodyne and now she is beginning her 4th pill pack and she has no new pimples. She is healing a couple from month 3 and has some red marks but all in all her skin is MUCH better. We hope to get her off of the Solodyne in the next couple of months so hopefully the Yasmine will work well on its own or just with some topical treatments.

Pros:

-Likely to clear acne related to hormones/menstrual cycle
-Free in the UK
-Can skip periods
-Eases other forms of PMS

Cons:

-Not suitable for everyone
-Can be difficult to get prescription for
-Bad side effects if you go off it

This is my second time on Yasmin, both times I went on it for a mixture of wanting to ease my periods and clear my acne. This time round I have only been on it two weeks and my skin is clearing, last time I was on it I saw results in 1-2 months. I came off in January 2012 after a year and half on it, my doctor thought it was aggravating my migraines (turns out I had a food intolerance instead). The side effects coming off were terrible - panic attacks, anxiety, severely heavy periods and a gradual return of my acne. I am much happier being on it and it is a birth control that works for me in all aspects. This pill is not suitable for everyone, if your acne is not hormonal related it is likely to make things worse. If you're over 35 and smoke, have a history of clots and/or severe migraines it is also not recommended. To conclude, if you think your acne is linked to your periods and do not have health issues that would make it unsuitable then you may want to ask your doctor about this option.

Pros:

Less cramps, bigger boobs, and best of all, much much better acne

Cons:

It takes at least 2-4 months to work, and before it does, my acne got worse - the worst its ever been. I would only recommend this product if you're willing to go through worse acne for about 1-2 months.

Even though I felt like giving up on yasmin within the first 3 months, after reading the reviews on this site I decided to wait it out for at least 3 months to see what happened. I've noticed that many of the negative reviews of this product are written within the first 3 months of taking yasmin, so I decided not to come to any conclusions until I had finished 3-4 packs of pills. After enduring the worst acne I've ever had - not just localized to my chin but all over my face, and deeper cystic acne than before - my face finally began to slowly clear up, and now after finishing 4 packs of pills, I am completely clear. Its truly amazing. I know that yasmin is not for everyone, but I think that if you're suffering from hormonal/cystic acne that you should give it a try, but only if you're willing to BE PATIENT and to let your acne get worse before getting better. There are no quick fixes to skin problems.

Pros:

Skin improved after only a few days use

Cons:

Moodiness, Anxeity, Nasuea

Hoping the moodiness and anxeity go away! Life has enough stress to offer, no one needs the added anxeity. My poor husband! lol Will try it for the rest of the month. It may not be worth the nice skin.

Pros:

Helped control acne, lighter periods, feel great on it

Cons:

If i forget a pill my skin looks worse the next day..other than that its great.

I have had severe acne for over 3 years and nothing worked that my dermatologist perscribed. I needed to go on BC so she told me to try this. My skin dramatically cleared! I have like one or two zits when I get my period but other than that my skin is very smooth. The lighter periods are a plus too!

Pros:

Significant improvement in skin after 2 months of use.
No more breakouts :)- SKIN IS SOOO SOFT!!
Regulated period

Cons:

elongated my period by a day
didn't clear left over red marks

****I'm rating this as A SKIN CARE PRODUCT, NOT A CONTRACEPTIVE!!!! -Try it. There is not much improvement in the first month, but after 2 you realllly see it. My skin is much less oily and I haven't broken out in weeks. I'll still break out a tiny tiny bit during my period, but the pimple or 2 will be gone in about 2 days. This has been the ONLY thing that has worked for me. I turned to BC as a last resort, not wanting to use it because i was afraid of weight gain and other side effects but I have experienced none but breast tenderness before my period. My skin is so smooth I can't even believe it is my face.
