Pros:

None

Cons:

Nausea, depressed, no motivation

I was put on dianette by my gyneocologist,i do suffer with spots, and have quite a bit of hair growth on my face, stomache. I have only been on it for 7 days, already I have experienced a whole 5 days of feeling sick, not being able to eat and even certain smells have made me want to be sick. I've felt depressed, had no motivation. Its been a horrible week. Already my family say i've become like a different person. I'm normally really happy and cheerful. I've decied to come off it today. I will go and see my gynecologist next month and see what he says, i know for sure i won't be going back on it.

Pros:

no severe side effects

Cons:

slight head ache now and again and feeling of being sick. but nothing serious thank god.

I HAVE HAD MILD ACNE FOR 8 YEARS AND TREIED MANY CREAMS AND ANTIBIOTICS. BUT NOW AM DEPRESSED AS ITS BEEN SO LONG. THE BOTTOM LINE IS I WANT TO BE AND FEEL BEAUTIFUL. IM DEPRESSED WHEN I BUY LOADS OG CLEANERS, TONERS, EXPENSIVE FOUNDATIONS TO PREVENT AND HIDE MY ACNE. ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH, SO I STARTED ON DIANETTE. JUST COMPLETED 2 MONTHS OF TAKING DIANETTE. HAVEN'T NOTICED ANY CHANGE ON MY FACE, CHEST, BACK. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT YOU WILL START SEEING CHANGES FROM 3 TO 6 MONTHS. SO I WILL KEEP GOING TIL THE END OF THE 6TH MONTH AND IF NO CHANGE WILL STOP AND GO FOR AN ALTERNATIVE. I WILL NOT TRY RO-ACCUTANCE AS THERE ARE MORE SERVERE SIDE EFFECTS THAN DIANETTE. WILL COME BACK AFTER 6 MONTHS OF USING AND GIVE YOU GUYS AN EVALUATION.

Pros:

Clearer skin while im taking dianette, not on the 7 day gap. bigger boobs.

Cons:

Always hungry -weight gain, causes cellulite, depresssion, mood swings, exhausted all the time, whereas before i went on dianette i was so energetic and fit. total lack of motivation in anything- sports or school.

I would definately not go on dianette long term, i have only been on it 4 months and seriously conidering stopping after this pack.

Pros:

clears some peoples skin

Cons:

your acne usually comes back when you come off it, sometimes worse than before

This pill is banned in America, take that as you will! this pill never worked for my acne, i think it even made it worse, but i stuck with it for a few years as i needed thee contraception. I would not advise anyone to take it. especially not if you are very young

Pros:

don't know

Cons:

awful mood swings

decided to go on the pill when I moved in with my boyfriend last month, Doc recommended Dianette as at 28 still have bad skin. Was weary, but after only 12 days, I haven't stopped crying and have been a psychotic demon. Period lasted full week, and still have a show, have had terrible cramps since day one. Have been a blubbering wreck, and just not myself at all! Have decided to change to Yasmin, which will start tomorrow, so fingers crossed that will stop the tears!!! Don't think the boyfriend could cope with me like this much longer!! lol !!! I've no doubt its successful for many, but definitely not for me. Have suffered with depression in the past, and explained this as a concern to my gp when deciding which option to go for, but he thought i'd be fine!! Wish there was some kind of test that could be done in advance to test your hormone levels first to see which one will effect the seratonin levels, as this could be dangerous to those who are vulnerable

Pros:

Spots are clearing up.

Cons:

Total loss of sex drive, thrush and sore breasts, they do not feel like like my breasts any more, unfortunately, I can't stand touching them or having them touched anymore.

I have always had really bad spots on my chin but they got 10 times worse and were starting to travel up my cheek when I went onto a pill called trinordiol. I went to the doc about my worsening skin and he changed me over to Dianette and got me an appointment for an ultrsound to test for polycystic ovary syndrome. I have just finished my first pack of pills and have not had a bleed yet. My sex drive is gone but yes my skin is clearing up already, i just have red marks now where the spots were. But i am vey depressed at the lack of my sex drive and worried about sore boobs not to mention the lack of a bleed yet and it is three days since I stopped my last pack which has me worried might be preggers.

Pros:

I have been taking this pill for about a month, and my spots have cleared up slightly.

Cons:

However this pill has made me feel awfull- depressed, emotionally numb, always crying. I do not feel myself atall since taking this pill, and I am going to stop taking it immediately, as the research I have done has shown a link to depression.

I would much rather put up with spots than have to deal with what the feelings I have experienced due to Dianette. You only have to type the name in on google to see how many articles warning you about the pill come up. The fact that it is given out to young women without warning them of the risks is WRONG. I cant believe what I have read this morning, and I certainly advise anyone who is thinking about taking this pill to research the risks fully before starting it, as your doctor will not warn you of the risks properly.
