Cons:

a lot you are taking a big health risk with this pill

I was given this pill to help my acne after having tried just about every cream going. Reading all the side affect it can cause and other peoples experiences with this I wasn't very sure whether I should start it or not. I have only just finished my first pack but my skin has already got worse!! Although yeah I did have a few spots on my face they have now got way bigger and there's lots more of them typical as its back to school for me n just a few days (I'm 16) the spots on my back and front have got worse and it makes me feel sick most days usually a few hours after I have taken it which is pretty weird. I haven't gained any weight though:) which I'm a bit worried about, wouldn't mind the bigger boobs as some of these reviews say as I'm still only an a! I understand it works for some people and not others I was really hoping I would be one of these people it does work for however I am going to stick with it until I finish the other two packs and see how it goes fingers

Pros:

It is free on prescription

Cons:

Side effects are Evil

I stopped taking Dianette after 3 days, I had an extreme stomach upset for 24 hours and could not stop dry retching, my whole body ached, i was exhausted and I could not get warm. I would rather be spotty and hairy than feel like that.

Pros:

Lighter periods, no weight gain

Cons:

Made my skin much worse, caused breakouts where I've never had acne before, headaches, sickness, tiredness

It would seem that Dianette does work for a lot of people but for me personally it's been a nightmare. Within the first 3 months of starting the medication I developed incredibly sore boils all over my top lip and around my mouth which I had never had before. I always feel really sick when starting Dianette again after the 7 day break each month and I get quite a few headaches and tiredness (though it is possible the latter is just me needing more sleep). I've been taking Dianette for nearly a year in the hope it would eventually start working but my skin has just got worse and worse and now the acne's spreading to my cheeks, which have always been clear. So that's really gutting. I have 2 more days to take Dianette and then I'm switching over to Cilest on the advice of my doctor. I've read that Dianette is one of the strongest pills out there and I think people should be careful with it.

Pros:

My acne did clear up and my periods got lighter after years of being off school or having to go home early during that time of the month.

Cons:

However, I have noticed I have been tireder, more emotional, can get very down and have a sick feeling quite alot.

Hearing all the possible severe side effects and the way I feel is making me want to come off Dianette. Although what I am unsure of is how exactly to come off it, do you have to wait to the end of a pack, get your period and then just not go on it again or how does it work? Help would be gratefully appreciated :)

Pros:

Skin cleared up, i was getting these large spots once i came off my old pill. These stopped once i started taking dianette. However, i still get the occasional large spot on my back or shoulder. Blackheads and open pores still a problem.

Cons:

The mood swings are unbearable. Also i'm so tired all the time. I'm crawling out of the bed after 10 hours sleep. My boyfriend is going to leave me if i don't stop overreacting and crying all the time. I've put on about a stone in weight.

Don't use it. I never made the link with the pill until my boyfriend shouted it at me this morning after another tantrum. Although my skin is ok, not perfect, but ok, it's not worth the moodswings. They're making my life unbearable. Definatly not taking it anymore.

Pros:

Skin a little better, with less of the really painful spots. Also less greasy. Spots on back and chest gone. Went up from an a/b to a c/d cup in a month

Cons:

MOOD SWINGS: really bad, even noticeable after a few days of taking them. Gained stone in a month.

Not sure if it is worth it. Skin not totally clear with up and down stages, and crying, depression and irritability worse to deal with I think. Also being fat is probably just as confidence shattering as spots, especially when in the space of a month you can't fit into your clothes.

Pros:

I can't think of any except less painful periods.

Cons:

Seems to have done nothing at all. Skin is no less greasy and facial hair is worse if anything. No change in depression or mood swings and have been using product for 6 months.

Product did not work for me personally.

Pros:

Er... NOTHING. Well okay having regular periods and the whole birth control thing was good.

Cons:

Weight gain, nausea, terrible headaches, almost vomiting, skin actually getting slightly WORSE- if anything at all.

Okay so this was hell for me. Not only did I gain weight (I am very active and eat low cal healtn foods) but I also suffered illness when on this too. I won't go into that though, I'll try to stick to the acne side of things. I have been on Diannette twice, and the first time it did nothing for me skin at all- although I was still a bit ill on it- but the second time my acne got worse and more cystic. I was a lot more sick feeling the second time around. I was expecting good things but was disappointed. :( If you must try this do expect weight gain. I gained quite a lot of weight and I am active- I'm still losing it now!

Pros:

Not alot. My spots weren't as angry but i still got them all the time.

Cons:

Feeling very sick, bad stomach, dizziness, feeling low and very emotional, palpitations...not great!! Spots also didn't change that much.

Personally it didn't agree with me atall. I went on it for two reasons. 1)to help prevent me from getting cysts (which i suffer from) and 2)to clear up my spots. I've been on Dianette for just under 6 months but today i've decided to stop taking it as i was fedup of feeling so unwell and down! I just hope i'm back to my normal happy, energetic self very soon!
