Dianette : Oral Contraceptive

I have been on dianette for almost two months now. My skin was never very bad, just a few breakouts here and there..I thought id try my luck with dianette but i have been on yasmin before and broke out from using that too..Using dianette, My skin is most definately less greay, but my skin has actually got worse since being on this pill, and I also have a very small tolerance nowadays, i tend to get moody over the smallest things. I have heard from a lot of people that their skin did initially get worse but then it gets better..But I am not sure what to do, whether to stick out a little longer, perhaps another month but if there is no difference i will stop taking this pill. This pill has too many horror stories attached, and seeing as tho i already had a breakout with yasmin (so i showed a reaction) my body is obviously very fussy as to which pill i use..so ill stick it out a little longer, if no improvement then ill try a lighter one or go back to my old faithful microlite.

I am starting to feel angry that my Dr. prescribed this pill for 6 yrs knowing I was suffering from depression, panic attacks and anxiety. I only start looking into the link between this pill when my counsellor mentioned it. I broke out in acne once again after coming off dianette but my skin has settled down now and I find Biore oil free moisturiser excellent 4 acne/excess sebum, I now have some facial hair which I didn't have before I started on dianette and my initial reaction was to ask to go back on it. I have now decided my mood is much more important than a bit of facial hair and though it is getting me down a bit, I can opt to have it waxed and get on with my life without Dianette and feel happier day to day!

You can't take chances with your life. For me, Diane is a no no. Would never take it again because of the high risk.

Dermatologist said they are plane warts, but upon looking up images on the net, they don't compare accurately, so gut instinct is that it was caused by dianette, and now I have to live with feeling unnatractive!! Thanks! This should be researched, and possible banned, as it can have a horrible effect physically, mentally and emotionally!!

Was on this for 3 years from the age of 16 to 19, I had no side effects of what I was aware of and it cleared up my skin compeltely. Also made me less oily. I gained weight whilst on this but I'm not sure whether it was due to this or puberty. I did also experience bloating but the difference in my skin made up for it. However, I've been off it for a few months and it's came back worse than before. Maybe this is due to how long I was on it, I'm not sure, either way I don't think you should be on this for as long as I was - I sort of forgot about the health risks as I was never reminded about them whilst on it. I don't think I should have been on it that long, especially given my family history of breast cancer. Overall, I would recommend taking this but realise that this isn't going to fix the problem forever and you will have to come off it eventually.

Unfortunately for everyone out there desperate to cure this acne with this, you've gotta be patient. It takes a good few months to kick in, but for the first 3 months my skins was still bad. Maybe 3-6 months it was bad but not as bad, 6-9 months it was a lotttttt better and 9-12 months it was good. Never really perfect for more than a few days, but a great break for a year. So I would recommend it! Definitely! I had some great months of skin on this pill. But... i've been off it 4 days and onto Yasmin and my acne is back in full force :( even though I was convinced this would keep my skin good Onto the next thing... :(

Good if you want bigger boobs without implants. Bad for everything else. Also its only temporary even if it did work, which means bad skin once more!!! Try something else first...l;ike tea tree or witch hazel etc!!!! Made my acne go from light-moderate to severe in first month!!!!

I have heard it works wonders for some people. i have had severe acne and had to go on roaccutane treatment, which meant i had to legally be on some form of contraception anyway, so they recommended dianette as a form of acne treatment too. it didn't work, if anything it made things worse. every month i came off of it for a week i would have huge flare ups. i stopped taking it and my skin no longer had these flare ups. my roaccutane treatment cleared my skin up, but recently i have had a few spots. i am considering trying dianette again, to see if it might help.

All symptoms stop once you come off the pill so give it a go and see. It can work very well for some.
