Pros:

After a day of taking the pills both me and my boyfriend could see an improvement in my skin.

Cons:

On the second day of taking the pills I started feeling sick, then I started vomiting non stop. I had to go to hospital and be given anti sickness tablets. Felt dreadful for the next day.

Badly disagreed with me. Adverse reactions are quite common to erythromycin when taken in pill form. Taking antibotics for a long time in pill for is not good for your body either. However I did see some improvement within just one day, so it might have been great if I hadn't been allergic to it.

Pros:

Skin looks better than it has in YEARS! My skin looks photoshopped in real life, it's crazy!

Cons:

SEVERE drying of skin initially, PAIN, small unpleasant odour

I've been taking many acne treatments for about the past 5 years, and in prescribing me this one medication, my doctor has resolved 5 years of suffering and TRANSFORMED my skin. My prescription is a combination 0.1% Tretinoin and 4% Erythromycin. It caused very VERY severe drying out of my skin (I used the word "destroyed" as an adjective many times), but it completely changed the look of my face afterwards. It caused very VERY bad drying of the skin (flaking, peeling etc...) and moisturizers BURNED when applied. But I kept at it/am VERY happy! Anyone who tries ANY acne medication for a week or less is expecting far far too much. Acne is caused by bacteria, so you HAVE to give medication time to work/kill the bacteria. I've used the product for about 3 weeks (I usually give medications a 4 month unconditional, completely dedicated trial before I request a change) and have seen more drastic, sustained results than anything I've ever taken! Exicted to see if it will c

Pros:

I am having amazing success with the erythromycin pills + clindamycin topical (spot treat only). I started this product 11 days ago. (333mg 3x/day for 7 days and 2x/day thereafter) On day 4, my skin started seeing remarkable results.

Cons:

Stomach aches the first few days. Just eat and they will subside.

I am not sure how long it will last, but I am amazed at how clear and smooth my skin has become. And, so quickly!

Worked great for about 3 months

Pros:

Effective

Cons:

Nausea
Isn't long term

After about 6 days of taking 333 MG twice daily, my face was completely clear. All active acne literally shrank away and disappeared. After about 3 weeks, I got about 1 or 2 pimples a week. This was after having about 5 new pimples a day, so this was still a huge improvement. After about 3 months it had lost about 50% of its effectiveness.

Cons:

Severe stinging on application
Dryness/Flaking (to the extreme)
Didn't clear my skin after 4 months

I remember the first time I applied this to my face. I almost hit the roof. I was running around the house screaming "GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!" It burnt so bad. The burning went away after about 1 minute. I had to put up with that every morning and night for 100 days. Overall, it didn't do anything but erode the surface of my skin. The flaking was out of control. Cannot recommend.

Pros:

Not dangerous while you are trying to get pregnant, however stop it completely once you know you are pregnant.
-stomach discomfort

Cons:

mild
Slow effect

I am having erythromysinc 500 MG twice a day for three months now, and only from this month I had been noticing that the redness had gone from my face. However it didnt stop new cests (BIG ONES!) from growing on my facing. The only reason I am using it is that I have no choice since I want to get pregnant too and my doctor recommended it over the tetracycline and acutane since it can be used while you are trying to be pregnant. For all the people who had good results from this medicine, good for you! but for me I am still waiting to see my face again with no acne!

Pros:

worked well at times, no side effects for me, ok to take while pregnant and nursing

Cons:

stopped working, takes 6 weeks to start working

I've been on this drug for 3 years. Worked ok (some breakouts) through 2 pregnancies and nursing. After I was done with nursing, my skin cleared completely so I stopped taking it just to see. BIG MISTAKE. My skin's been horrible ever since - 7 months now. I've tried oral and topicals but nothing works. I went back on Ery. 3 months ago but it's not working now either:(

Pros:

CLEARS ACNE AMAZINGLY, goes on clear, easy to apply

Cons:

makes face feel slick, dries my oily skin out

This is great!! I use the topical solution and it clears my acne so much!! I used to have so much on my cheeks and NOTHING worked. Trust me, I've used a lot of solutions. Now my skin looks CLEAR. Not absolutely clear, but mostly clear. It will keep on working. Do not use it for 3 days and stop because you think your acne looks worse. That happened to me but then I tried for 2 weeks and my acne suddenly was almost gone!! By the way, I use this along with topical 5% benzoyl peroxide and leave it on overnight. I would suggest this. It was FREE for me under my insurance plan.
