Pros:

It cleared my skin of redness and spots after just a few days. Beautiful.

Cons:

After a few months, I suddenly came up in tons of spots over my forehead. Was very confused????? . I stoped taking them for a month..and the spots came back as quick as they went.

They do work to some degree.. just make sure you complete the course.

Pros:

clears up skin fast. Ive been on this for only a day and i already see a decrease in redness.

Cons:

absolutely none. ive seen from other peoples post that they complain of stomache aches/cramps. It clearly says you are suppose to take it with food. plain and simple. Also you are suppose to take it every 12 hours. Your body needs a routine.

Ive used this product before in the past and it has worked tremendously. For me I would break out because i would smoke tons and tons of weed. Idk why but i always broke out from it. Now that i havent smoked in about a month and i break out really bad. I didnt get it at first but i accepted that i might be the type of person who needs to be on antibiotics for acne until my hormones calm down by themselves. Now my second time using it, it has only been a day and i see a little improvement in redness and some have even gone away. Erythromicin works Ive always taken it in pill form. Id say try it out.

Pros:

Clear Acne completely for 7-8 months
Easy to take
Did not have any stomach pain because of it

Cons:

Stopped working after 7-8 months

I was prescribed 250 mg pills to take day and night. It took around two weeks to see results but I stopped breaking out around 1 month after taking them consistently. I finished one full course and was completely clear, then after 7 months I began to break out again. I decided to do another course (one course is three weeks) and the effects lasted for a month. When I started to break out again I decided that I cannot take any gaps and began taking them everyday. I'm still breaking out but its not as bad as it was prior to taking these pills so I will continue to do so. Alongside this I used Retin A at night and Dalacin T (Topical cream and liquid) for the first couple of months, which really helped in fading scars. But that is a thing of the past... since I have been breaking out more consistently. These pills did help though... even if it was just for a short period of time and anyone who has acne knows that even if the affects are temporary, clear skin is always a blessing that cannot be quantified. I just wanted to add that I think I see a pattern now in how I break out... a week before that time of the month. So I know my acne is hormonal... I read about how spironolactone can help balance hormones so I am taking that now in conjunction with erythro. It's been about a week but I'm hoping from the depths of my heart that this will eliminate these severe breakouts. Wish me luck, I'm sending out my best wishes to all the acne-sufferers out there.

Pros:

Some improvement in skin

Cons:

Stomach problems still persist 10 years after I took this. Constant coughs, colds and sore throats while I was taking it.

I am thirty now. Took this for roughly two years from late teens into early twenties. I still suffer mild/moderate acne with occasional bad outbreaks but would not ever consider taking this drug again. My acne did not clear up completely while taking this but I guess there was some improvement. What I can say is that the night I first took this the stomach cramps started. I ingored them because I was desperate for a solution. I have suffered serious trouble with my stomach ever since. My immune system also basically collapsed while I was taking this. My 2 cents worth - Try it if your doctor thinks it would suit you and other drugs have not worked. But if you start getting stomach issues stop immediately.

It's alright....
This has worked well for me in conjunction with Benzoyl Peroxide topical solution but now my skin is clear i think im going to just go for the acne.org regimen as it has brilliant reviews. I am skeptical as to whether or not these antibiotics have given me side effects, i've been taking them for years now and was unaware of when to take them in regards to food timings etc but now I think about it it may have given me anxiety and uncomfortable stomach issues.... I thought those were just my problems naturallly but I guess we'll see when I come off them! Question: I would like to stop taking these pills right now. Does anyone know if you can just abruptly stop antibiotics or do you have to wean yourself off them? (The doctor wanted me to stop taking them anyway a few months ago btw so that isn't an issue, just wondering if it'll give me side effects etc).

Good but not a long term soloution

Pros:

Did work
Cleared skin reasonably well

Cons:

Side effects - Indigestion, feeling sick.
Short term

I was oral Erythromycin for about six months, it did really help my acne. I maybe got a couple of spots now and then while on it but still had the redness around my t-zone. It did help but when i was on my fifth month it began lose affect and i started to break out quite badly.

Pros:

cleared up my acne very well!
It was affordable with insuance

Cons:

Gave me terrible stomach aches
annoying to have to take it twice a day and with meals.

So I'm a high school student and I barely have time in the morning to eat breakfast, so I would just take this pill with a glass of milk. About an hour later I would get these awful stomach pains in the middle of class. When I first started it, the pain was like, eh, I can deal, but it started getting worse and worse as each day progressed. I was very sad when I had to go off of this though, as it was the first and only thing that cleared up my acne entirely. My doctor said that very few people have such a bad reaction as I did.

Pros:

have used it for 5 days and so far soo good. It has dried my acne and seems to clear my black sports ( which are quite deep). I use it together with doxycline tablets which is an antibacteria.

Cons:

Leaves the face very dry especially in the morning which is quite embarrassing while working at my front desk job. Quite expensive without no insurance. Slightly affected my neck: rush like appearance and itching.

My doctor told me to skip a day or two which I just did a day ago. It works perfectly fine now. Make sure you don't touch the eye area with it coz it makes the eyes swell. I'm taking before and after pictures and so far sooooo good. Can anybody recommend a good facial moisturizer for normal to oily skin type?
