Make sure you're using REAL olive oil
I read a lot of reviews on here and decided to try it out, but I used the olive oil from my pantry which I recently found out is actually fake olive oil (carapelli), and fake olive oils are actually made up of all these other oils that are comedogenic. Which explains why all these people broke out so badly so fast (I did too). But then I did my research and went out and bought real olive oil (California ranch olive oil) and I have been using it for a week now and it has realllllyy helped my skin. My skin is way more calmed and even toned, I don't have red spots or patches and I feel like it's been preventing pimples and it calms and heals the ones I do have. Still excited for it to get even better the longer I use it. Basically just really make sure that youre using the real stuff, you can find out the good and bad brands pretty easily on the internet.

SIMPLE IS BEST
I TEND TO HAVE OILLY SKIN OR SO I THOUGHT. I WAS USING PROACTIVE FOR 12 YEARS AND MY FACE, THOUGH WELL EXFOLIATED, ALWAYS BROKE OUT IN CYSTS. AFTER 12 YEARS WITH PROACTIVE I FELT LIKE THE ONLY BENEFIT WAS EXFOLIATION AND NOT TREATING THE CYSTS. IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO GIVE UP ON THE PRODUCT I WAS USING, MY FACE WAS ADDICTED TO IT. BUT FINALLY I SWITCHED TO ARBONNE, THEN TO OIL CLEANSING. I FEEL LIKE THE LESS CHEMICALS I USE, THE LESS "STEPS" I TAKE TO CLEAN MY FACE THE BETTER AND BETTER IT IS GETTING. OLIVE OIL IS A STAPLE IN MY FACE CLEANSING PROCESS NOW. IT REMOVES MY MAKE UP LEAVES MY SKIN MOISTURIZED WITHOUT FEELING OILY. WHEN I NEED A GOOD DEEP CLEANSING I USE A COMBINATION OF CASTOR OIL, DR. BRONNERS, AND OLIVE OIL. BUT WHEN I AM NOT WEARING MAKEUP OR WHEN MY FACE IS NOT SO DIRTY I WASH WITH WARM WATER AND IN THE SHOWER APPLY A LITTLE OLIVE OIL. SIMPLE IS BEST. MY FACE DID GET WHITE HEADS, AND MORE BLACKHEADS CAME TO THE SURFACE WHILE I TRANSITIONED OUT OF THE CHEMICAL CLUB BUT IT HAS SETTLED DOWN NOW AND IS BETTER THAN ITS EVER BEEN.

Fantabulous- As long as you know what you're doing.
This stuff works pure magic, taking away redness, moisturizing, treating acne. . . I was anxious to get my hands on it. It, of course, worked like a charm. For the first weak, it was amazing. I had clear skin, no acne breakouts. But that first week I was using Kirkland Organic EVOO. My family switched brands, to which I unknowingly massaged my face with Filippo Berio EVOO, which made my face breakout. I did some research to see if it really was, as stated in a previous review, falsely labeled. Of course it was, like most big company EVOOs. I have created a list of popular brands that are FALSELY LABELED for you people looking to avoid this: Whole Foods (Of all brands. . . Seriously?!?) Rachel Ray Safeway Newman's Own Colavita Bertolli Filippo Berio Pompeian Star Carapelli Mezzetta Mazzola Here is a list of brands that are safe, and ACCURATELY LABELED: Kirkland Organic Corto Olive California Olive Ranch McEvoy Ranch Organic Buyer beware, and try to stick to the oil true to it's name!

Good to use
I massaged the olive oil onto my problem areas and the pimples were suddenly less severe and smaller in size.

Who Knew!

Pros:

Takes away inflammation in pimples
Don't wake up with breakouts all over my face
Makes skin really smooth and soft

Cons:

The smell
It gets pretty messy, especially mixing with the honey

I have been using ORGANIC Extra Virgin* Olive Oil for a week now and have experienced a noticeable difference already. I mix it with organic honey and use it as a face mask for 30 minutes every night. It takes inflammation right out of my pimples and I haven't had a crazy breakout since I've been using it (knock on wood). It also has been helping with the redness in my face as well. I am not giving it 5 stars quite yet because I want to give it at least 2 weeks to a month to really see what it can do for my face.

Pros:

-Makes skin so soft
-doesn't break me out at all
-soothing and smells good (to me!)
-gives skin a nice glow

Cons:

-obviously a bit oily, will make your skin shiny
-some people don't like the smell

I was pretty scared to use any kind of "oil" on my face at all, I always thought oil was the "bad guy" and to be avoided at all costs! However, BP and salicylic acid really do a number on your skin, making mine red and dry and flaky. So I heard some good things, bought a little 2 dollar bottle from Wal-Mart, and took the plunge. I'm so glad I did! I've never had a problem breaking out from this. It's too heavy to be wearing out during the day, but I gently massage a little bit on before bed and it keeps my skin nice and soft. It also works great as a scrub if you add a little sugar to it, just be gentle and massage lightly. A sugar scrub with olive oil will make your skin feel heavenly. I feel like it's also helped fade some of my scars!

Is Great Value Extra Virgin Olive Oil a good brand, because I heard the only reasons Olive Oil can have a low rating is because some people use unauthentic Extra Virgin Olive Oil consisting a blend of various oils, I read somewhere that Great Value's Extra Virgin Olive Oil passed the authenticity test, but I wanted to hear it from someone that tried the treatment with it

Pros:

-Softer skin
-Acne scars appeared lighter within a few weeks

Cons:

NONE

Put a little olive oil into your hand and gently massage into face. Leave the oil on for 20 minutes and rinse off with cold water. Repeat every night before bed for great results!:)

Can I leave the olive oil for a nig
May 16, 2012

Pros:

-soft skin
-completely gets rid of any redness
-helps fade acne scars
-no breakouts if used limitedly

Cons:

-I can't stand the smell of some brands lol
-did cause breakouts when I used it everyday, but I was using it to nullify redness so I wasn't too concerned
-oily so unless you have wonderful confidence it is something you can only use at home
-if you sleep with it on it can stain pillowcases due to the oil, but again, not a big deal - just use pillowcases you aren't fond of

When I was 12-13 I would try to kill my acne with tea tree oil. Lo and behold, when you are 12 and have no idea what moderation is, you completely kill your skin lol. My whole face was completely red, flaky, and sore. It had completely shattered my confidence. After a good 6-8 months of trying 100 different moisturizers, remedies, and the like, I convinced my mom to take me to a dermatologist for it - but I had to get a reference from my GP. He basically facepalmed at me and told me to sleep with a fair amount of olive oil on my face every night for 2 months, and if I didn't see results from that he would refer me to a derm. Within 4 weeks the redness was fading, and by the end of my 2 month term my skin tone was completely back to normal, albeit if I wore make-up you could still see that my skin was a bit flaky. I'm 19 now and still fight with my dry skin (moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!), and a couple times a month I sleep with olive oil on my face and have no trouble with redness!

Pros:

-good for light acne pron skin
-healthy shine
-good as a conditioner for hair (google for directions)

Cons:

-do not use if you have sever acne, start off using jojoba oil first.
-start using olive oil once your skin looks better since its thicker than jojoba oil
-smell

I used to use Jojoba oil, worked really well for 3 months, but i had to switch to pure olive oil cause we only have jojoba in a plastic 4 oz expensive little bottle with crappy lid, but works really well. I started using pure olive oil cause its much cheaper, glass bottle and it carries more volume. After using it for 3 months, it stopped working for some odd reason and planning on going back to jojoba oil tell my face is better. PS:
