Pros:

Makes skin smooth

Cons:

Too expensive

Does anyone think that Retin-a (tretinoin cream .025%, .05%, or .1%) is doing all the work? When I called my dermatologist about obagi she told me that I have to use Retin-a or I won't get results. So is Retin-a doing all the work then? And obagi tretinoint costs $70 for a small tube. That is way overpriced. You can get generic retin-a for ~$10! Obagi is a rip off. Anyway, I used obagi for 4 months because it was recommended by a dermatologist. My skin got smoother. But I had the worst breakout of my life and now have red marks all over my face. So after 4 months I went to a different dermatologist who told me to keep using retin-a, but that I didn't need the other steps in the system. He also prescribed me spironolactone, which is an anti-androgen and is working amazing!! So once I started spironolactone and stopped using the other obagi steps (i.e. clear and blender) I stopped breaking out. My dermatologist said I did not need to use the hydroquinone since my pigmentation was mostly red marks. So if you have freckles or brown pigmentation then hydroquinone is for you. However, I do not think you need to spend $70 for a hydroquinone cream (like blender and clear). You can get hydroquinone cream cheaper. Now I'm at 5 months of using retin-a and 1 month of using spiro. My skin is looking better than ever! The red marks are fading and the breakouts have ceased. In conclusion, I wish I just used Retin-a in the begining and not wasted money on all the obagi products. However, this was just my experience. Obagi has worked for others and I am so happy for them! However, I thought I would report my experience in case it helps. Of course, people are biased in which information they care to pay attention to. When I first started obagi I went through reviews and ignored all the negative ones or discounted them somehow. I wanted to start obagi so I only paid attention to the positive reviews. Now I wish I was mor

Pros:

My skin is smoother, the redness has mostly disappeared and I've only had one very small pimple since using.

Cons:

It does sting a little when using, but it's hardly a con after seeing the results. It is expensive, but if you search the web you can find discounted Obaji at various spas/beauty product websites. My doctor had a 25% off Obaji week, so you can find deals.

It really has improved the appearance of my skin. You have to give it at least a month before seeing results starting, but it is worth it. I actually went to the store without makeup the other day. something I have not done in YEARS!!! Is my skin perfect? no, but it has really improved and improved my self confidence.

Pros:

best skin i've ever had, helped me with ACNE, freckles, acne scars. Honestly obagi nu derm is the best product I have ever tired, and let me tell you I've tried many products. Results began to show for me after 4 weeks.

Cons:

Takes 18 weeks to see the real results, stage one is the worst ever almost makes you want to stop using it, skin peels, and possible acne breakouts, this can last up to 2 weeks. Can't use all steps when breastfeeding or pregnate:( Product is expensive

Yes 18 weeks may seem a long, but it's totaly worth it. After stage one (4 weeks) you began to see the results, however the full results are at 18 weeks

Pros:

Can feel it working immediately
Has already cleared some bumps

Cons:

Drying effect on skin, especially chin.

I'm using the Clenziderm line from Obagi. I've heard about this product several times, and my dermatologist has said this is the best system to use for acne. I was able to get it at a discounted price through my spa, which is great since it lasts about 3 months. I have noticed after using it for about a week (just in the mornings for now as my skin gets used to the product) that it really dries the skin, so I'm making sure to apply additional moisturizer to the areas like my chin that are really dry now. I'm also getting very fine black dots (don't know if I can call them blackheads) on my chin where the skin is really dry...not happy with that side effect. I've only used the 3-step system for about a week, so I'm hoping it will also help with the old acne scars that I have lingering. I'm African-American, so my scars turn very dark, which is frustrating. I recommend this for now...we'll see how well it's doing in a month or so.

Pros:

I've been using dry/normal skin obagi cleanziderm kit. I used the oily ski obagi cleanziderm kit before this and it dried my skin out sooo much...so I switched to the dry/normal and I really like it! It has definitely helped calm my acne down and is beginning to finally clear. I have only used the products for 3 weeks, and my dermatologist said that it will take at least a month to begin to see the dramatic results.

Cons:

It's expensive but it is supposed to last 2-3 months..so really that's only 40-60 dollars a month..which is by far less than all the products that I have bought and haven't worked.

Stick with the products, don't give up easily on them. :)

Pros:

Obagi NuDerm gets rid of light discolorations

Cons:

Caused cystic acne which I had been free of during my time on ProActiv. Also caused blackheads which I had never had before & now I can't get rid of them. Has cleared up my forehead but that its. Sales people try to push additional, unnecessary products. I can't keep up with the cost.

I've used faithfully for 6 months and am very unhappy that I've been screwed out of so much money and look even worse than before. Bad for those who are prone to cystic-type acne.

Pros:

helps rid scarring
prevents acne
clean finish
good smell

Cons:

semi-drying
slight burning sensation at first

Obagi Clenziderm MD - Normal to Oily System: I have used a lot of products to try and rid my face from acne, including Accutane. This is seriously the only product that actually works for me! This was going to be the last product I was going to try - I was hopeless. I read many many reviews and opinions and I feel, for me, I found the best method with this product. Pros:

+ it will make my skin a lot smoother/thinner
+ BARELY ANY pimples come up (and if they do, they're just small ones.)
+ my skin looked SO MUCH better after 3-4weeks
+ it made my skin lighter also

Cons:

- during the 1st week, my skin was red
- 2nd week: skin was dry (it was peeling a lil)
- makes my skin a bit tight (so use moisturizer)
- i could barely move my mouth area because it was dry&tight

Okay. I normally don't write reviews, but I just HAD to write one for this product! (which is the clenziderm normal to oily.) I have acne prone skin, but my acne isn't severe. I would just have pimples grow spread out all over my face. Buttt....I was getting tired of it so when I heard about this product, I decided to give it a try. Like I mentioned under the cons, it made my skin red for 2 days and then it became dry for about a week then it started peeling for a week. SO I HAD TO BE VERY VERY PATIENT. after 3-4 weeks my skin was x10000000 better. Now, I get compliments from my family members telling me my skin is a lot better. So I say people should give it a try. :)

Pros:

It makes your skin super smooth,no more breakouts, and a little bit goes a long way.

Cons:

EXPENSIVE!!!, the first few weeks are extremely drying, you breakout alot,no lotion, the sunscreen makes your face white, and all the different steps are a bit much.

It works and of course it actually takes times. The first few weeks I had make blackheads and my skin was so flaky! But I just stuck to it and it worked. I barely breakout and when I do it is not the huge red ones that hurt or anything. I don't have insurance so I have to go to a cosmetic dermatologists which is probably why I paid so much but I was fed up so I bought it. Until I can go to a dermatologist I figured I minus well had tried it. I am very Happy with the results. I treid everything, even Acne.org Regimen and this actually has my skin smooth and clear and slowly but surely it has my scars fading and i promise a few people have said I am glowing. It has been a while since I have been comfortable with my skin. If you can afford it I say go for it.

Pros:

-Clears acne scars
-Reduces cystic acne

Cons:

-Pricey
-Excessive drying/peeling with first couple of days
-Burns in the beginning

I was recommended by my dermatologist to try the Obagi Clenziderm products and at first, I was hesitant to try it because it is a little pricey and I wasn't sure if it would be worth it. I have severe acne and have tried everything from ProActiv, Murad, Nanocleanse, whatever is out there, I've probably tried it. However, I was pleased with the results after using Obagi for only one month. It has completely cleared my cystic acne and is also reducing my acne scars. I have the scars which caused tiny holes in my face, and after a month, it has turned nearly smooth. It is the only product that has worked for me in clearing my skin in such a short period of time. Although, I recommend using an exfoliator while using these products to help get rid of the dead skin. Hope it works for you!
