please help
Today is my third day of this regimen, my skin is too oily, I never use moisturizer before (whenever i did, I got acne). This moisturizer is too emulsive and feels sticky on my skin. (only using one pump). I got 2 more acne because of this on the first day, what should I do? I can't skip this step as it's too early plus BP is drying out my skin. Please suggest.. Do I need to find an alternate? Thanks

It is normal to get few pimples at the beginning of your treatment. If the moisturizer is not good for you try something else that suits your skin.

use the AHA on top it really helps with the flaking I promise!

Pros:

doesn't cause breakouts!
goes on easily

Cons:

doesn't actually moisturize
doesn't combat flaky skin in the long run

First of all, thanks to Acne.org, and the DKR for everything you have done! I love my new face. I have been using this produce (and the other Acne.Org products) for over 6 months. I am 27 years old, and follow the DKR carefully. Although this lotion feels nice going on, and doesn't cause breakouts, I found that after a while (especially in the dry winter months up here in Maine) that it didn't actually combat my flakiness due to the BP applications. I was using tons of jojoba and just basically using the moisturizer to spread the jojoba around. I work at a coffeeshop, and would feel the flakes coming back within hours. It's pretty embarrassing to serve a latte with skin peeling off of your face. I switched to Cetaphil's moisturizing lotion a few days ago, and wow, what a difference. No breakouts, but actually moisturizes. It feels thick and greasy going on, but after a few minutes your skin feels like new. I feel soft, supple, and flake-free all day. Plus, you can pick it up at the store, and you only need a few drops of jojoba with it... For those who are struggling with Dan's product and are looking for a new product to turn to, I would recommend it heartily!

Pros:

Positive that this does not cause breakouts, reduces redness from BP or AHA application

Cons:

Does not moisturize or take care of flakes

I've used the new moisturizer for about 9 months. The one good thing about it is that you can be sure that this product will not cause your skin to break out. It is a very mild formula that also helps to reduce redness caused from application of BP or AHA. However, it hardly functions as a moisturizer and does not take care of flakes. I view this product as more of an inert base with which to mix jojoba oil with. I have to add a lot of jojoba oil to the product to hydrate my skin and I feel that the oil does the moisturizing while the lotion gives me a medium with which to spread it around my face. The lotion is quite runny and takes a long time to absorb. Even with the added jojoba oil I still end up getting flakes within a couple of hours and my face feels dry and tight. Bottom line: safe to use but not a very effective moisturizer.

Pros:

Light
moisturizing

Cons:

Not light enough
smells bad
leaves my skin feeling gross, like a residue.
Drys up and clogs the end of the pump

I really liked the old stuff. I don't like how it leaves a gross feeling residue on my skin. I also use this to moisturize the skin under my short beard. The old stuff was a lot thinner and massaged in very nicely. This does not! I leaves an even worse sticky feeling on my beard. I really want to have the option to buy the old moisturizer or the new one. Don't just take the old one away all together! I honestly have no idea what i will buy once this is used up. It was nice to have found what i liked only to have it taken away! bring back the old one!

Leaves skin tight/dry
Since the formula change, I've been strictly using this on my body. It works well for that purpose. Every couple of months, I (erroneously) try to use it on my face and wow, I get a quick reminder why I stopped using it. Leaves my skin very tight, even when I put it over a layer of jojoba oil. Really hoping that the formula changes, and am grateful that Daniel Kern is listening to his customers. I've been using the face wash for over 10 years and really want to go back to using the moisturizer.

Mixed feelings about this product.
I love acne.org products except for this one. This is the worst Acne.org product unfortunately. During the peeling period of the regimen(which is a month), it does NOTHING. Even if it is applied every hour. The good thing is it did not or does not break me out. CONS: Does NOT absorb into the skin. It leaves your skin looking oily like a pizza. It has a yellow tinge to it which makes you look like you have hepatitis (not a good look, on a already acne-ridden face). No SPF protection :( Note: I did not want to throw it away, so I use it as a moisturizer for my neck. It works well there.

Nope! Try the Glycolic acid
It stings awful and I thought it was normal, but it also doesn't really moisturize! I was happy with cleanser and peroxide but decided to try the Glycolic Acid moisturizer instead: day and night! It actually works. I decided to give this one another try since I had a whole bottle left - NOPE! Still stings like hell - threw it out! Right now, I use acne cleanser, peroxide, Glycolic acid moisturizer (works great) + 2-4 capsules of 500mg of Panthothenic Acid. I still have occasional break outs BUT considering how bad it was, I consider this a miracle. All of my friends tactfully notice that my skin has gotten so much better, although I still have all the scars! I'm working on it now but at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck!

Hi, you should be careful using the Glycolic moisturizer in the daytime. It attracts the UV rays to your face, and then deactivates in the sunlight. It will only make your face get hyper-burned. I only used it at night three nights a week. Although, had to stop the whole regime lately...

Pros:

non-comedogenic
feels light

Cons:

Terrible color - stains shirts, towels, everything.
Dan - as someone who uses Benzoyl Peroxide (and knows its bleaching properties), you should know the embarassment, expense, and annoyance of constantly ruining your clothes and linens. It's awful. I was perfectly happy with the old moisturizer - PLEASE BRING IT BACK

Also, doesn't moisturize as well as the old one.

not worth the expense of new clothes, towels, sheets not worth the added paranoia of staining something else - we're already hyper-aware of bleaching things with the BP - now we have something new to worry about. not worth the embarassment of a yellow ring around the collar of your shirt

Please bring back old formulation
This used to be one of the few things that soothed the nerve pain in my husband's hands (non-diabetic idiopathic neuropathy), and the new stuff is instead irritating. Please consider offering two different products, something like "Standard" and "Intense Soothing." I realize it's more complicated to offer more products, but the previous formulation really was special (and going by other reviews on here, I'm not the only one who thinks so). The new formulation is fine for me, but again, it's nothing special, and I'd just as soon get something from a drug store.

I hear everyone that you want the old formula back. I'm back in the lab seeing what I can do to improve things. However, my mind is still absolutely boggled at this reaction to the moisturizer since I changed the licorice root. That's all I did. Just switched out .1% of the formula for .25% of another ingredient. It shouldn't be causing irritation or issues. It can always seem like a product that changed is causing problems, but you might want to look at other things that might be causing irritation. It just doesn't make sense that it would be the moisturizer. Not enough changed to make a big difference. Having said that, I hear you guys, and I am in the lab working on a new moisturizer that should hopefully be even better.

Thank you Dan. I used your product for years and I enjoyed using the old yellow moisturizer. It made my skin glow and I didn't have any irritation or acne. As soon as I started using the new moisturizer I started having acne again and my skin reacted bad. It never really sat well after using step 2. I am glad you are hearing everyone out and considering bringing back the old moisturizer.

It’s the Moisturiser!pls bring back the yellow ones or running ones, this one is way too thick, never sink in!Thanks Dan!

Dan the new formula is great! I wouldn't change it a bit. I think it's likely that other issues are causing all the problems of these people leaving bad reviews.
