Acne.org : Moisturizer with Licochalcone (OLD)

This is my favorite moisturizer that I have found so far. I really like the lightness and the fragrance. I use it after using Dan's BP which is extremely drying but this moisturizer hydrates my skin really well and prevents flaking. It works really well under my makeup because it absorbs into the skin instead of just staying on top of it. I use 2 full pumps which may be why it takes so long to absorb into my skin. I usually takes over 20 minutes for it to fully absorb which doesn't seem that long but when I'm rushing to get ready in the morning or waiting to go to bed at night, it seems like forever. My skin does look and feel a little greasy but I prefer that over dry skin. It has stained my sheets yellow but that doesn't bother me too much. Overall I love this moisturizer. I just wish it had SPF!

I use this mainly at night and mix it with a little jojoba oil before I go to bed because it gives my face a far too oily appearance for daily use. However it works like a charm! My face is flake free when I wake up and no residue is left on my face. The only complaint I have is that it's a bit sticky and it feels a bit awkward to lay sideways on a pillow. Other than that it's a great product!

i love this moisturizer! it is extremely extremely soothing to irritated dry skin after BP treatment. does not cause breakouts even when you slather on a thick layer. tones down redness and irritation - probably the lichocalcone ingredient working. it feels absolutely great going on, very calming. buy it!

This is a pretty good moisturizer. I have to say, I have always been so afraid to moisturize in fear that the lotion will clog my pores and cause breakouts. This is the first time in my life that I'm not afraid to put lotion on my face! I put about 2 pumps on my fingers and smooth it over my face lightly. You will see some residue and that's ok because you are not supposed to rub it in fully. I let it absorb into the skin, and this happens pretty quickly. Overall good cream that absorbs fast, is lightweight, and evens out skin tone.

I find this a really good product, can be used with knowing it's not going to make you breakout. Always feels like such a risk to try a moisturiser and running that risk of extra lesions. This product can be used with confindence without the risk of breakouts. In my case anyway. I believe the recommended dosage is perhaps too much, which could be why so many say it doesn't absorb. Just use as much as you need, you be the judge. There really is little, if any smell, and it's not at all unpleasant. The product has a good amount of soothing anti-irritant ingredients. Feels pleasant on, again with not applying too much. During winter months multiple applications throughout the day are perhaps the way to go. It isn't matte and makes my skin look red and as if I have just wet it. So personally it's not the best choice for my AM regime. But I do soothe extra dry areas and of course use it PM. I believe that your choice of face wash is really important in the dry winter months. Dan's wash (just like nearly every other wash) is just too drying for me at this time of year(when using BP), summertime is fine though. During winter an non-lathering or lotion type wash is far less drying, and makes my skin much more manageable. I cannot overstate how much this simple change really made my skin so much better. Despite some minor negs, I give this four and half stars,but can't select it.

You need to add a couple drops of jojoba for this moisturizer to agree with dry skin. Too many people are complaining about this moisturizer because they either are used to the old formula or they don't know how to effectively use THIS formula. The old formula had glycerin in it, which acts like a moisturizer. Dan got rid of that ingredient for the new moisturizer (because it caused stinging for some people). Consequently, the new formula has a different feel on your skin. You need to figure out how much jojoba to mix in based on your skin's needs.

Hey Daniel, been using your regiment for a while. The new moisturizer seems pretty great overall and I'm glad I can finally use the acne.org moisturizer for my AM routine. The green that was present in the old formula made it only worthwhile for PM since it did leave a yellowish residue which wasn't ideal. The new formula does have a different smell (slightly worse than the old in my opinion, but it goes away), but I do appreciate that it's a normal lotion color that I can use any time of the day. I hope that if you do create another moisturizer formula, there is a way to retain the lotion color (either through the new formula or just offering 2 moisturizer options of differing colors). This moisturizer is great, the licochalcone in it really works at soothing your skin which will become dry from using the benzoyl. Also I personally love the yellow tint because it gives you some color/coverage. The ONLY reason I did not give this 5 stars is because I think it should be SLIGHTLY more moisturizing. Perhaps I have dry skin but I use 2 full pumps plus 10 drops of the jojoba to keep the dryness away. When I leave in the morning my face is literally glistening from all the oil lol! But throughout the day my face does absorb it. You will acheive the results they promise if you use this product and the jojoba is a great companion to customize it to your skin type.

This is a great formulation for acne-prone skin. My only issue is that it's a bit heavy to use under make up. One other thing I noticed is that when I received my shipment, the pump was already broken in and some of the moisturizer had spilled out. This made me a bit paranoid about contamination. Still, it's a great moisturizer if you are looking for something affordable that won't break you out.
