Pros:

Prevents acne, lightens scars, reduces oil on face and kills off bacteria.

Cons:

A little weird putting lemon juice on your face?

Since I was about 13 I started getting acne, it was horrible. I it got to the point where I wouldn't turn on the lights in the bathroom so I didn't have to look at myself. I had suicidal thoughts all the time and was afraid of people looking at my face. At the start of this year, 2011, I was looking on the Internet for cures and stuff. I came across this site and thought it may work. It's now mid October of this year and I'm so happy, most of the time I have clear skin though I do break out sometimes, it's only one or two pimples that the lemon juice kills anyway. It doesn't seem real.. Though it is and I'm so glad I saw this site. I thank god for lemons haha. This is what I do ; Wake up in the morning and splash my face with warm water about twice then once with cold. I go to school and enjoy my day now then arrive home at about 4 when I wash my face again. I only use water, it's enough to unblock my pores from the oil without drying it. Then on a cold I would splash my face every 3 and a half hours. On a hot day every 3 hours. It's not good to keep to oil just sitting there clogging. Around 10.30 I Have a shower then straight away apply lemon juice with a cotton ball to my whole face. It can sting at times but it's nothing to worry about. This is the weird bit, I don't wake up with new pimples at all it's so weird. There's hardly any oil on my face and it's so good! I repeat the process for almost a year now and it's amazing. Of you're reading this right now and feel hopeless, try it out.. It may work for you but an attempt is worth it. I'm writting this with no regrets in life except for not doing this sooner.

Pros:

Smells delish ;)
Lick your lips and it's sour! I like it
Helps with acne
Reduces red marks
Doesn't sting my face at all
Inexpensive

Cons:

Can make your skin peel, but it's nothing too serious. Just put some lotion on and you should be set.

I use 100% pure lemon juice that I bought from my local grocery store. It's super cheap and works wonderfully so far! My red marks are fading quite quickly, which is awesome! & it keeps my face soft, and smooth.

Pros:

Inexpensive
Smells fantastic
Easy to make/use
Results the very next day/morning
Great for cleansing AND exfoliating

Cons:

May sting a little(didn't for me)

So basically, this is it for me. Every cleanser(non-natural) that I have used had screwed my skin up in some way, wether it be drying it out or making my skin raw. I have very sensitive skin so it was difficult for me to find a drugstore product/"high-end" product that was gentle. I'm never going back! This is what I've used and in order: 1. Freshly squeezed lemon wedge onto a round cotton pad 2. Dampened face with lukewarm water 3. Applied some raw organic sugar to my face(a tablespoon spread all over) 4. Scrub everywhere especially around hairline and around nostrils to kill bacteria 5. Rinse with water, wait 10 mins 6. Apply organic honey to my face(easiest when done in the shower but I just tie a bag around my neck HAHA) 7. Leave honey on for about 30 mins I moisturized with a light moisturizer after the honey masque and before I went to bed, applied my crushed aspirin mush. Honey, 1 small aspirin and a tiny bit of water. Just as a spot treatment. I also put another thin layer of honey on before I go to bed and rinse in the morning. This can get messy so if you roll around alot this probably wont be a good idea. Unless you can make a consious effort to sleep on your back like I do. I guess you could put a garbage bag on your pillow... The results are amazing, the redness goes down so fast and the honey is bringing all my underlying pimples out so flippin' quickly!! Give it a shot, it's cheap and it won't damage your skin long term. Hope this helps you like it did me.

Pros:

natural, cheap, organic

Cons:

inital irritation

I have just tried this for the first time, and the inital burning I experienced was so excrutiating I was afraid my face was going to explode in an allergic reaction. Just as I filled the palm of my hand with face wash, the pain subsided. The irritation for me was extreme, maybe because I use very mild products and my skin is not used to the power of the lemon, but I truly believe everyones skin is different. I'm glad I have given this a chance. This is much better than any of those brands neutrogena, clearisil, clean and clear etc. :)

Pros:

Helps clean the skin
Gets rid of excess oil
Brightens skin tone
Helps redness kind of

Cons:

Stings like a you know what

I have only a few pimples around my nose and a a couple on my forehead. My skin has recently been quite red from the colder temperature and a new wash I picked up. My forehead has never broken out before until I used the wash I got but the lemon juice got rid of the pimples completely overnight and the redness is slightly down. The zits around my nose are almost faded. I also recommend taking a "shot" of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar before bed each night. It helps fight acne before it starts

Pros:

Clears up skin.

Cons:

Just stinks. Did not work for body acne.

I read a few reviews and I tried lemon juice. I created my profile on acne.org only to put a review for lemon juice. I did the following, 1) Washed my face in the night with a very mild cleanser. 2) Applied the lemon juice after 5-10 min. 3) Went to bed :) After a few weeks my face is all cleared up. For my back acne I did the following: 1) Changed to a very mild soap. 2) Reduced my shower time. 3) Stopped touching my back with sofa or chair and started sleeping on my side rather than on my back. Exercise regularly and stress free mind is also required besides this. But sadly it didnt work for my chest acne.

Pros:

First day saw instant results
Makes sense.. super high acid content should be killer against acne right?
makes my skin feel great
minimizes pores
great addition to your already standing regimen if you have tough skin

Cons:

if you just shaved. stings like a mother f-er

My goodness i love lemon juice, I have had acne for 6 years, finally went to a dermatologist about 2 months ago and she put on sulfacitimade and veltin gel, theyre good but nothing too effective, til i added a lemon. heres my regimen. AM: Cleanse with Acure Cleanser Squeeze out fresh lemon juice, apply, leave on for ten minutes rinse off Apply sulfacitimade wait a few minutes apply acure oil control moisturizer PM: Cleanse with acure cleanser apply veltin gel wait like 20 mins + apply lemon juice to face, i leave it on all night (i also apply acure night time chlorela moisturizer if i feel like my skin is dry, probably like every other night) In a few weeks on this regimen i have no acne. scars are almost gone. important things to note... I had been using the regimen with no lemon for about two months so my skin was used to the heavy chemicals. acure should be available at your nearest like whole foods, local natural food chain i have really tough skin and a really high pain tolerance so if you have neither of these you should dilute with water we also have a lemon tree so getting them was no problem

Pros:

- Clears acne
- Cheap
- Clears scars
- Cheap

Cons:

- Don't go out in the sun with it on
- Don't go nuts with it - wean off usage after a week or so and use it only when necessary (2-3 times a week)

I have light olive complexion (my background is South Asian). Lemons do wonders for my skin because it enhances a natural glow. I've used it on and off for a number of years now whenever I need acne/scars cleared up and it does the job usually within a week or so. I only stop using it if its really sunny outside as I am paranoid about getting my skin burnt (it leaves a black spot if you leave lemon on your face and go out). However, if you simply put it on your face once a day and wash it off in the morning, you're good to go. Recommended Steps: 1) Use lemon instead of lime. 2) See how strong/resilient your skin is. Mine is quite resilient to lemon, so I leave it on over night, if not the entire day when I'm just at home. 3) Usually, I put it on whenever I know I don't have to go out and am staying home. For example, I'll put it on my face at 7 pm and wash it out before bed with just warm water (no cleanser), and then put it on before bed and leave it over night. Wash it out with cleanser in the morning. Done. Highly reccomend it, but don't go crazy with it. Contrary to popular belief, it will heal your skin if you continue its usage, though you can safely dial back after your active acne/scars clear. Once every other day is probably all you need, or 2-3 times a week. Use in moderation after you clear up, till then once a day is fine. Its really about trial and error. Either way, it works great on olive skin so anyone reading this with olive skin, give it a shot following my method. Give it a week or two and you will see guaranteed results...maybe even in 2-3 days. Just be wary of going out in the sun with the lemon on, and don't go nuts with it - apply it with a Q-Tip, and put in a decent (re: no to the point where the juice is dripping all over) amount on your face. I don't put it on my whole face because I only get pimples/scars in specific "zones" (cheeks) but the whole face should be okay too. You know your own

Pros:

Instant results.
Prevents acne because bacteria cannot reproduce in acid environment.
Dries out zits, whitenes blackheads and shrinks them.
Whitenes red spots and old red spots.
Smells neutral.
Cheap and easy to get.

Cons:

If you use it more than once a day (i use it in the evening instead of lotion), it dries up the skin and is very abrasive and agressive. Don't overdo it!

Great results if used reasonably (once a day tops!).
