Pros:

-brightens complexion
-clears acne
-smooths skin

Cons:

-works slowly
-messy, stings

Yes, I would totally recommend this. In 7th grade, I had the worst acne, and in desperation (and having nothing else left to try), I applied lemon juice to my face everyday for a month. After that month my skin was completely clear and GLOWING. It was absolutely ridiculous and I thought I was dreaming! I eventually stopped despite these results because it was messy and tiring the way i applied it. However, I'm going to start again, a few years later, because these days, I'm breaking out like crazy. If you do this, don't expect an overnight miracle. There are none. It works slowly, but it LASTS, which is wonderful. Be patient, and hang in there! Picking and panicking over your acne will not clear it up!

Pros:

works!
smells nice!

Cons:

stings until it dries...

I use lemon juice as a toner after cleansing in the morning and I use diluted AVC at night. It works great. I can feel that it helps to maintain a good pH level and I also feel less breakouts forming... You must be patient though! I have been applying this for 2 months now! Hang in there and don't give up!

Pros:

Natural (No unknown chemicals mixed in it that may cause skin cancer that most treatments for acne scars have these days)
Lightens skin in a short period of time

Cons:

Stings like a b*tch! Seriously, I really felt the juice burn my face although it only lasts a couple of minutes upon application. It's all well worth it though!

I was skeptical. But now? I'm glad I tried this! I have naturally tanned skin (not too dark though, but more of a "light" brown). So when I get pimples/acne, the redness isn't as obvious as others who have a lighter complexion. And when they heal, I don't get red spots left over either but they instantly turn a dark brown, sometimes almost a dark gray. So although I get acne from time to time (usually when it's almost that "time of the month"), my main problem is actually the scars. Thus, the lemon. I tried this exactly 6 days ago. I was pleasantly surprised. It's no miracle of course. My scars didn't fade overnight (like some reviewers here have claimed). I use the lemon juice (squeezing a thick lemon slice and putting the rest in the fridge for another day's use) and squeeze all the juice into a cup. I use the juice directly on my cheeks with a cotton ball where most of my scars are and a portion of my neck which has a dark area (although I have no idea why that area is slightly darker) without diluting it (I assume my skin could handle the natural remedy after years of using other random chemicals). After the stinging from hell, I leave it on until the next time I have to wash my face, which is at night and do the same process again. I used the lemon juice as a toner by the way (after I cleanse: morning and night, and exfoliate: every other day). So after I cleansed a few minutes ago, I faced the mirror if I could see any noticeable results from the lemon juice. My face has been softer and firmer since initial use. The scars on my cheeks have lightened slightly (or maybe that's just my optimism). But my neck however, has gotten considerably lighter! Not just the patch of darker skin but the surrounding skin that was hit by the lemon is lighter too! It may look weird but I was happy the lemon actually worked! I just hope my cheeks would get as light as my neck did as well. I'll be sure to review again after 2 weeks of use.

Pros:

Works wonderfully as an astringent
Great at "eating up" facial oil (for those with oily skin)

Cons:

Stings a bit

Please only use this when you are not using retinoids or all these other acne topicals, like Finacea, Avage, Epiduo, Cleocin T, Benzaclin, Benzomycin, anything with Benzoyl Peroxide as a matter of fact...actually, anything based in alcohol. Your skin may be reactive to these chemicals mixing with those of the lemon and it may cause an allergic reaction, which will probably cause more acne bumps (cysts, nodules, papules, postules etc). Try letting your face rest from all these harsh chemicals for 2 or 3 days and then try rubbing lemon juice on your face. This stuff is WONDERFULLY as an astringent. It stings a bit but it cleans out those pores and leaves one's face dry, which is great for those with oily skin. If you have naturally dry skin (or chemically dry skin aka skin which is stripped of essential oils due to acne topicals), I would not recommend you use this. My acne was once severe but now I have no acne at all.

Pros:

Smoother, less oily skin
Helps with & prevents acne
Fades scars
The subtle smell of lemon

Cons:

Some initial irritation

Lemons couldn't be any more cost-efficiently. I never got to the point to actually give any of the expensive remedies a try simply because of the trouble involved - but I've been no less motivated to cure or at least better my acne. At this point of time I've applied lemon juice to my face and slept with it on for about a week, and though its effects are not instantaneous it's worked wonders so far (relative to the money and effort put into it). It's not necessarily the cure for acne, but if you stick with it you'll notice improvement. As for me, I've got a long way to go still, but I've got the fridge racked up with this yellow fruit.

Pros:

cleared up my acne
inexpensive
smells good
made acne scars dissapear
shrunk my pores
blackheads dissapeared

Cons:

itches the first few minutes
lightened my skin (some people might like this but, I'm already really pale)

using lemmon as a way to clear acne is really smart and efficient way to clear acne. I just cut the lemon into slices and then rub the slice all over my face. Wash it off few minutes later. It leaves your skin feeling soft and will clear up the acne in no time (alond with scars and blackheads) It did lighten my skin which i didn't like too much since i'm already so pale but, if you don't mind the fact that it lightens skin then go ahead and try it. Bottom line- its a great way to clear up acne and scars.

Pros:

Did whiten my complexion ^^
Dried up some of my acne, but not all.
Faded a little of my scars and spots

Cons:

Will flow down to your whole face and sting clean areas.
Didn't reduce much of my redness, still e same. ><

Used it last night and this morning. So, in total twice. My method, i squeeze the Lemon Juice and make it into ice cubes. So when i apply it on my face is much much more easier, and convenient too. I have oily and acne-prone skin so i think lemon won't be too harsh on my face. :) By the way, i'm now using Cleanz Plus Anti-Bacterial facial form (by skin doctor) & a weekly Simple, Oil balancing exfoliating wash, is it good ?

Pros:

Great Complexion
Skin is glowing
Dries out your skin in a good way
fades Scars
and shrinks pimples/dries them out
and makes you feel more confident!

Cons:

It stings at first, then it goes away.

I never thought something so simple and natural could actually work. I have been battling with acne since i can remember and tried BP for a while and clindamycin and it worked wonders for about year then stopped working. I was put on tetracycline and it did nothing for me. Just when i thought nothing could work I decided to cut a lemon up and rub it directly onto my face. I started noticing results THE DAY AFTER i was getting compliments on my skin also. I LOVE LEMONS!!! I recommend applying lemon directly onto your face for best results. TRY THIS YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!

Pros:

Clears both acne and blackheads
Smells good
Shrinks pores
Leaves skin soft
cheap
quick

Cons:

itches like mad the first time you put it on
skin is a bit more sensitive to sunlight

Since I was eleven I have had acne. Moderate acne that wouldn't go away no matter what products I used (most actually irritated it more) or the products would work for a mere few months. For the last few years I have worked at a fast food restaurant which is murder on the skin. A few months back, my skin began to break out worse than ever before. So in desperation I searched through the internet for a home remedy as a last resort. Really, it should have been my first resort. My face which was red in many places from acne scars is its proper colouration again and glowing. There are no more large boils under my skin. My blackheads have not improved that much, but I attribute that to my workplace. (I took a week off to study and all of a sudden they were almost completely gone. Came back when I went back to work) It works very well when you use hot soapy water on your face beforehand. Just a warning though. Don't put just straight lemon juice on your face. It is not good for it. You have to remember that this is also a very strong acid. It must be diluted with water first before you put it on your face. The way that I did it was just to soak a cotton ball with water first before I put a few drops of lemon juice on it You will start to see improvement with in about two to three days. This university student is happy for the cheapness as well compared to the old acne products she used to buy!
