Pros:

Moisturises beautifully, a bottle costs about £10 but lasts ages, the clear skin on my face looks amazing

Cons:

In my case, it hasn't cleared up my acne but has certainly helped the condition of my skin.

Firstly, if you try this all you need is a few drops for your whole face! I bought the Jojoba Oil from Holland and Barratts after reading the reviews on here. I must say I am impressed. After use my skin feels so soft, even the bits with acne! It penetrates quickly and improves the appearance of my whole face. The bits of my face that are clear are now CRYSTAL clear! My left cheek has no scars, no spots, no uneveness...now I just need my whole face to look like this! I recommend using the jojoba oil as a moisturiser after using a topical treatment for your acne. I use quinoderm, but figure out what works for you by trial and error :) Good luck my acne-fighting friends! :P

Pros:

Moisturizing
Not oily
Balances facial oil
All natural
Minimizes pores
Dries out pimples for some weird reason
Helps get rid of blackheads

Cons:

Initial breakout

I never write reviews online but I felt compelled to write one about jojoba oil. I've had combination/oily skin for my entire life. I have huge pores on my nose, forehead and chin. I was having issues with acne on my jawline for years. About a week ago I read that benzoyl peroxide, the active ingredient in the face wash I was using, can make hyperpigmentation worse. That is one of the biggest issues I have...even when my pimples disappear, the spots left over can last for six months or longer. I've always been afraid to use oil on my skin and have used oil free moisturizers and products my entire life. But after reading reviews on jojoba oil, I decided to try it. I started using 4-5 drops as a facial moisturizer at night. It soaks in to my skin immediately, and I find that it leaves me looking less oily than when I use oil-free moisturizers. Usually I moisturize and find that within 10 or 20 minutes, I have little dots of oil coming up from all the pores in my nose and forehead. With jojoba oil, that doesn't happen at all. Ever. I started using it as a moisturizer in the morning as well for that reason. It seems counterintuitive but the oil makes me less oily. I did have an initial breakout from using this product of small whiteheads and even a couple of big monster zits, but I kept using the jojoba oil anyway, and the zits actually went away faster than when I would put layers of spot treatment on them. The jojoba oil actually dried the zits out within a day or two. Now my face is completely clear and the zits I had initially, for the first time in who knows how long, they didn't leave any hyperpigmentation behind. This product is not for everyone and I know some people had bad reactions to it but it is definitely worth a shot. I'll write another review in a month or so and let y'all know how it goes but after only a week I am very impressed with my skin. Even the pores on my nose look smaller already and I think I have less blackheads as well.

How long was your initial breakout?

January 30, 2010

Pros:

calms acne down - and I mean old acne spots AND newly forming spots
removes dead skin cells (after cleanser Jahoba removes dirt/skin cells/makeup even further)
smooths skin
treats any dryness
glowing complexion

and at 25 I have the first tiredness type dehydration wrinkles... jahoba smooths these out too!

Cons:

Like everything - its difficult to apply to your back
none, slightly oily at first but at night this isnt an issue and after a day of having this on my skin I have no more oil on myface than I usually have, I actually think I have less so I think it makes your skin produce less oil in the long term.

I have had Jahoba oil in my cupboard for about 2 and a half years and I never used it for my skin, I was going to use it on my hair as a treatment. I thought about trying using it at night to lift any dead skin out of my pores and it seems to be working. I woke up and my skin looked loads better, Like it was globally healing everywhere I had applied the oil. I have been using it for 4 days days and seen an imprevement every time. I never expected this result from Jahoba oil alone and I seriously wonder if I could use this alone?... Give it a go! I know its expensive but its worth a try....

Pros:

doesn't make my face shiny
helps remove flakes

Cons:

Haven't notice any yet

I've used this for 3 weeks and am pleasantly surprised. The idea of putting oil on my oily face seemed like a big gamble, but so far so good. I am also using the acne.org moisturizer but it just wasn't getting rid of the flakes. It's very annoying to have oily skin and flakes' how is that even possible?! I have been easing into it with the jojoba, using it very conservatively so far. About once a week a leave a few drops on overnight in lieu of other moisturizers. A couple times a week I mix 2 drops in with my regular moisturizer. I was very surprised to find that it gives my skin a nice glow but doesn't make it an oil slick by the afternoon. Besides this, I also use it on most mornings to soften up the flakes on my skin...I rub it all over my face, use a washcloth to remove flakes, then shower to remove excess oil. Afterwards I apply regular moisturizer and then makeup. I use mineral makeup and it causes no problems with the jojoba oil as long as it has all soaked in before I apply makeup. The only reason I'm giving it just 4 stars instead of 5 is that so far I have not noticed jojoba magically clearing up all my acne. However, it has not made me break out and I do think it is making my face less oily, so I'm happy with it. I'm using Dessert Essence by the way...got it at a health food store.

Pros:

Gentle, natural, cheap. A few drops go a long way. Can be used as a makeup remover, lip balm, moisturiser. I LOVE this stuff!

Cons:

Being a severe acne sufferer, it took a while to be okay with the idea of putting oil on an already oily face. Does not treat acne alone, I am also on Diane and Bactrim, and I cleanse with Cetaphil.

Who would have thought an OIL would be good for acne? I use a few drops on my face and neck at night instead of a moisturiser. Used in conjunction with medication and a gentle moisturiser, my cystic acne disappeared within 2 months! Now I have healthy, spot-free skin! Another tip: If you get a bit flaky and don't like to use harsh abraisive exfoliators, gently rub the oil all over your face then wet a face towel with warm water and gently massage it over your skin. You can also use this method to remove makeup.

Pros:

soft skin so far

Cons:

none as of yet

I bought this item because i read the reviews from this website. I used it last night and this morning my skin did feel a difference. I started breaking out about a yr ago due to a lot of personal stress and now i'm taking tetracycline 250mg. I hope this really works because i've tried almost everything. From home remedies, over the counter products and acne facials and nothng has truly helped. I'll be posting if this oil helps my acne. I like it because everytime i get a pimple and it starts to disappear it leaves behind a very ugly dry patch that make up cannot correct and since last night i felt a difference in my dry skin. I'm sooo excited i really hope this works and helps others out!! I know how stressful it is to break out and have nothing work on you, but don't give up and just remember to NOT stress out over it stress can only worsen it. Good luck to everybody!

Pros:

Controls dryness and skin flakes
Price

Cons:

Shiny face appearance

I use 100% generic brand Jojoba oil and so far so good and it controls my dry skin after applying Benzamycin at night. However, it leaves my skin shiny and oily. I don't mind it at night but during the day time, I often have to lightly pat my face with a towel just to not look like I dipped my face in a bucket of liquid butter.

Pros:

I love this stuff! It doesn't block pores at all and is great for hydrating skin made dry by using benzoyl peroxide. I also think that it 'tricks' my skin into producing less of its own oil. So this means less spots.

Cons:

Because it's an oil, it isn't great to apply make-up over the top of it as it can make it slide off your face. I tend to find that if the oil is mixed with a moisturiser this helps make-up to stay put over the top of it.

It's a great product for moisturising and it can help with reducing the amount of oil your skin produces. It can also be used as a make-up remover. A fantastic, natural, all-round product.

Pros:

cheap
effective moisturizer
helps with dry patches
doesnt smell weird!
multipurpose (hair, skin, nails, etc!)

Cons:

slightly greasy feel and looks oily on face until it absorbs
if using "desert essence" brand, the packaging sucks! bottle cap spills and leaks everywhere

I started using jojoba oil around 2 weeks ago, due to the raving reviews on here and [link removed]. BEWARE, oil DOES cause a "purging" period; basically the oil causes all of the crap underneath your skin to come up and out, causing an initial breakout. This part SUCKS, don't get me wrong. My self esteem has plummeted and Iv'e been hiding out in my house as much as possible...but good news is ITS GETTING BETTER! you just have to stick with it and have faith! My skin is finally getting the last of the "junk" out and I think i'm finally in the home stretch to having clear skin :) Lately iv'e gone "au natural" and done a lot of research on more natural ways to deal with my skin. Here is my regimen: AM: -wash face with cetaphil cleanser -tone with apple cider vinegar/green tea mixture -put 1-2 drops of jojoba on fingers and gently massage into skin - wait around 10 minutes for it to absorb, then apply makeup PM: - wash with cetaphil -apply whole face mask - yogurt/honey or avocado/honey according to my skins needs - spot treat by using honey/cinnamon combo for 30min-1 hour, rinse off with cold water - put a few drops jojoba on clean fingers and massage into skin, then sometimes i'll repeat the spot treatment and leave on while I sleep. *Jojoba oil definitely causes that "glow" everyone talks about, and my oil production has gone down AT LEAST 60%...and still going down! *Bottom line is, if you're sick of having bad skin, try it. The initial breakout sucks but this is bound to happen anyway when trying a new facial regimen. I'm not 100% clear yet, but I hope I will be soon and i'll write another review :) good luck!

After browsing for products that would get rid of my acne once and for all! I came across this site and found out about Jojoba oil, after reading the reviews I decided to try it for myself and have found that it does work! My friends and family have found that I dont have as much bumps around my mouth like I used to and the dark scar from past acne is less visible. I am now looking forward to summer when i wont have to wear make up to cover up my scars!
