Honey for facial wash improves skin immensely

Pros:

Lessened oil production in skin
Improved acne greatly
Skin softer

Cons:

doesn't remove makeup

I have tried so many different brand name products for acne/facial washes plus bar soaps and all organic soaps. Nothing helped much, most things made my skin worse(i am convinced it was the harsh chemicals). I've been Washing my face with honey 1-2 times a day for about a month and my skin has improved IMMENSELY. I have sensitive, combination skin- but my skin used to get very oily in certain areas throughout the day, honey has lessened the oil my skin produces VASTLY~ I also use honey-cinnamon face masks once or twice a week after exfoliating with sugar. HOW TO USE HONEY WASH: I open pores before honey wash with warm water(not hot!) to face or steam, always rinse well after with warm water, use lemon juice as a toner afterwards, and rinse again with cold water or an icecube and moisturize. My skin only has a few dots left now. OTHER TIPS: - A healthy diet over the past many months was my main cure i believe (no sugar, dairy, wheat, oils, alcohol- Eat small portions, fast for 1-2 day periods once every 1-2 weeks- tons of veggis, some salmon/meat(boiled), and barely any fruit or nuts), plus 2+ cups green tea a day (after steeping most of the caffeine out for 40 seconds), 8 glasses of water, and exercise for 20mins-1hr after meals and to reduce stress. Sleep for 8 to 10 hours. It's hard work but it totally paid off. Good luck!!

Pros:

Makes my skin feel soft
Smells good

Cons:

It's messy!

You need to be close to a mirror, to keep track on where the honey is, lol. But yeah, if you have dry skin or just want to try something else, this is a good mask. I don't have dry skin, but it works quite well anyway. My skin always feels smooth afterwards.

Pros:

Great antimicrobial and doesn't dry the skin

Cons:

none

I like to mix indgredients so that you get a variety of benefits for acne and the skin. I mix 1 teaspoon of each plain oatmeal, manuka honey, plain non fat yougurt, and half a lemon to make a fantastic mask that works in healing and preventing acne 3 times a week. I also recommend trying witch hazel lemon juice and honey mixed together. I have found that using natural remedies provide much better and faster results that any medications I've tried. Also don't use proactive it is a waste of money, worked for me in the first 3 monthes and then acne returned. I currently wash with 100% black soap, 100% tea tree oil as astrigent/toner, and then moisturize with unrefined shea butter. Have been using this for only a week and my breakouts have stopped significantly.

Pros:

natural, no side effects, quick results

Cons:

sticky

This stuff is borderline miraculous. I have never had results like this. I put the honey/cinnamon mixture on at bedtime, cover the area with a sheet of toilet paper to prevent it from getting on my pillows. Each morning, I am more and more amazed at how much better my skin looks on a daily basis. My scars are fading. Any new pimples stay tiny and disappear within days, and old pimples heal within days too. BUT, you MUST use raw honey (not just the organic kind) and your MUST add cinnamon (which somehow has a synergistic effect). Raw honey is a miracle worker: builds collagen, fights free radicals, draws in moisture. Its been my lifesaver with acne, but it supposedly fights wrinkles too (especially good for those of us suffering from adult acne).

Pros:

1.) Greatly reduces the amount of breakouts. When I do break out, the size of the pimples are barely bigger than a whitehead.
2.) Evens out skin tone, and is anti-bacterial/anti-microbial.
3.)When crystalized, works as a great exfoliant.

Cons:

1.) Sticky and takes time to apply.
2.) You can't wear it during the day, and if I keep it on all night, I have to lie on my back.
3.) You have to keep your hair away from your face while wearing it.

Honey is a great natural treatment that is a fighter against acne causing bacteria, and evens out your complexion. When you buy honey, try to be it Raw. Most farmers markets sell honey this way.

Its worth a shot!!
Hey! I have never posted anything on here, but I've finally found a remedy that works for me! I have been struggling with moderate acne for 4 years now. I have tried multiple antibiotics, and creams and nothing really had an impact on my skin. I have been using a retinoid cream for a year and a half now, and it has become less and less effective. So I decided to give the honey mask another shot. I tried it years ago and didn't notice a difference in my skin. But this time around, I bought the most expensive local raw honey I could find. Seriously, do not settle for cheap, processed honey, it will not have the full effect! I have been doing it for three days now, twice a day, leaving it on for 20 minutes in the morning and 30 min- 1 hour at night. After the first mask I noticed that my skin looked and felt healthier, my skin was neither dry nor oily, and for me and my combination skin that's a big deal. I have noticed fewer breakouts, and also putting raw honey on a zit after popping it seems to reduce the damage to the skin, as well as reducing inflammation. I cannot say that this mask will clear up your skin, but it seems to improve the skins overall texture and appearance, without making acne worse. I would recommend trying it for no more than 15-30 minutes and see how your skin reacts to it. Everyones skin is different so you may have better or worse results with this remedy, just be careful and be gentle on your skin. I hope this works for you! In case you're interested, the honey i've been using is made by YS Organic Bee Farms, 100% certified Organic Raw honey.

My holy grail
I use local pure, unfiltered honey that crystallizes at room temp. If you need to warm it up to use just use your body heat to do so as heating in microwave can denature it too much. I put it on my dry face and leave it on for about an hr (can go longer if you want). when I'm ready to take it off I rub my skin in circular motions then I add Luke warm water to take it off. It comes off super easy. Make sure you wash it all off bc if you have some left on skin it can clog your pores (some people use a gentle cleanser afterwards but I don't think it's necessary). I air dry my face and then put on moisturizer (this is a MUST). My skin feels so soft and glowing afterwards. My acne pimples and scars are smaller and fade over time. AND my makeup goes on a lot smoother. I do this once a week. Pure local, unfiltered honey or Manaka honey is the key to seeing results with this.

Honey wonder mask
Acne and that too huge cystic ones can wreak an havoc on your confidence. I have done a lot of research on alternate therapies and with many trial and errors discovered this mask. I used it regularly AM and PM for 30 min each. Start with 5 min and gradually increase the duration to avoid burning of skin. Sharing this with a hope that others benefit 1 tsp -Cinnamon powder ( organic) 1 tsp- Nutmeg (organic) 2 tsp- Honey 5-10 drops- Tea tree/lavender ( which ever suits your skin) 1/2 tsp- Turmeric 1/2 tsp aloe vera ( subsitute with youghurt sometimes) This can be stored upto a week . Try it out as a patch first. Go ahead and let me know if it works.

Also cinnamon can cause irritation and don't use lavender. Any esthetician would tell you essential oils in skincare is not good

if it irritates your skin.. it means your skin is sensitive. u can use lemon alone diluted with rose water OR use honey only mask.
July 29, 2015
it's normal to have a mild allergic reaction from honey mask, if it's your first time using it.. try again next week, but if your face becomes extremely itchy then you're having a honey allergy and you should stop using honey as a facial mask.. sorry for bad english

Did you use raw honey?
August 4, 2015
if you are sensitive to honey please don't use lemon juice , it could make you hyper or hypo pigment depending on your skin color. lemon juice is a acid as soon as a acid touches the skin it is not controlled no matter what people say. and it can cause a bad out come if you don't know how to neutralize a acid. you need to look up the pH scale. for acids and Alkaline's it is a scale form 0 to 14 and 7 is the neutral. On the acid side of the scale lemon juice is a 2 and it is the second highest potency in acids. so its equivalent to a low to medium grade peel potency which should be done in the presence and by a skin professional who is license. my best advice for you would be to see a dermatologist and a Esthetician. most dermatology offices have a Esthetician in office. if you want all natural then try the brand Aveda which is a plant base line and all natural. but don't mix all natural with chemical you will throw off your pH balance in your skin. also before buying products and going just for anything all skin types can get acne but not all procedures and products can work on all skin types. you need to find out what your skin type is , then look up and research what works best for that skin type.
