Cons:

sticky and messy

TO REMOVE ACNE FOREVER: mix 3 tablespoons honey with 1 tablespoon cinnamon and apply every night for three weeks its really messy and annoying and all but i swear it works im only on my fourth day, i have just one little pimple left, my pores are tight and small, no little bumps on my forehead, blackheads gone (all but one). this is just my 4TH day!!! definitely worth a try!

Pros:

Works great to clear skin problems, especially when mixed with lemon juice. It was the only product that doesn't dry my skin, and it gives my skin a nice healthy glow! It is so cheap - nothing else has worked for me except for this treatment.

Cons:

Its sticky..... a small price to pay for its benefits.

I recently started using honey as an acne treatment and it has worked wonders on my skin. I did some research and I learned that honey is not only an antibacterial agent, but also contains antioxidants that protect the skin from from damage-causing free radicals which age the skin. I find it works best when mixed with a bit of lemon juice - the citrus acid in lemon juice exfoliates dead skin and dirt and the vitamin C helps repair damage caused by free radicals which is a bonus if you tan lots too. In my research I also found out that honey has been used medicinally by the Greeks & Egyptians for 1000s of years to treat wounds, skin ulcers, and burns. It is a great aid in cell regeneration and the formation of collagen. I have spent so much money on expensive cleansers which dry my skin and don't work, I guess its time I stop underestimating the power of nature. Check out this website:: [link removed]

Helps on a specific region of acne
I have extremely dry, sensitive skin and adult acne. Honey helps a very specific kind of acne for me. I get this large group of small pimples on my face by my ears that peroxide and other acne treatments have no effect on. Honey is the only thing that has helped them. However, honey hasn't had any effect on the large pimples I get on my forehead. It's like the pimples on by my ears are a different strain of bacteria that the honey specifically helps or something. I put raw honey (regular, not Manuka) on like a mask and leave it on for at least 30 minutes, but the longer the better.

Made my skin feel nice, but broke out :(
I tried using honey as a face wash in the mornings and also as a mask. . . I even used the best manuka honey there was but I got pretty terrible cystic acne afterwards. Not my cup of tea, but I'm glad it works for others.

Wish it worked
I used organic raw honey as a mask and an overnight spot treatment (mixed with cinnamon) for about 2 months. I really wish it had worked out. I think I was in denial for weeks about it working but then I started getting little bumps on every inch of my face and I had to call it quits. First few weeks I was breaking out mildly on my forehead, chin and the sides of my upper lips (places I never had a lot of acne before). I thought okay im purging, lets ride it out. Some cyst acne but minimal scarring. Started doing mask 20 min 2x a day, switched to manuka honey and it just seems to get worse. Then the texture of my skin was just horrible, bumps everywhere. I could not handle it anymore, switched back to benzoid peroxide and my skin has calmed down now. Such a pity though, wish I could find a natural "cure". Does seem to heal scars faster though maybe not prevent them.

Love this!!
I have struggled with acne forever. Plus the combination of dry, oily, and sensitive skin, I could never win. After doing some research and advice from a friend I started doing honey and cinnamon masks every night and threw away my old face wash and I couldn't be happier with my results. Now in the mornings I just rinse my face with warm water and use a dab of coconut oil as my moisturizer (I also use the coconut oil after the masks). I have not had one breakout since I started this, "non-chemical" regime, which has been about 3 weeks. I would recommend this to everyone, to at least try for a week.

Amazing result
Hi, I have been suffering from acne since November 2014, I did not want to use any chemicals on my skin which put me on the hunt for natural remedies. Here's my experience with different home remedies over a period of 5 months. I used Shea butter for 2 months, it left my skin too oily and had no effect on acne. This was followed by a month and a half of milk cleansing and application of olive oil which again did not have the desired effect. Desperately, I was looking for solutions online and stumbled across acne.org and all the wonderful reviews on the benefits of honey. As I already had raw and unfiltered honey in my kitchen, I thought let me give it a shot before I fall back on chemical based solutions. From the reviews I understood that this could take time and therefore required a lot of patience which I was already in short supply of. But it was worth it! When i started applying honey , I didn't see any changes for the first couple of days but i could see the glow on my skin. When I washed it off i could see redness and tiny new bumps form on the both cheeks. I was worried but after reading some more reviews that mentioned it could get worse (because honey pulls out toxins from the skin) before it gets better i thought of hanging in there. This redness persisted for 3 more days. Now I was at the one week mark. I could slowly see my acne vanishing into thin air. Now its been more than a month and my skin has improved by leaps and bounds. I rarely get 1 or 2 pimples these days and If I do, I promptly apply honey which zaps them within a day or two. My acne scars have all but gone. I recommend this for everyone as there are absolutely no side effects apart from the stickiness of honey :). Hope it works for you all! Method: I wash my face with an organic face wash, wipe with facial tissue as cloth towels could contain dust particles which could seep into the skin, apply honey all over the face (for an even glow), keep it on for at least 7-8 hours and wash it off with cold water. Since my skin is a little dry, I apply Aloe Vera afterwards which soothes my skin.

Hi Suruchi, Sorry I couldn't respond to your query earlier, as I have been travelling a lot off late. Honey is good to remove the toxins inside out, have patience it will take at least a month to see the results, have faith in it. Don't worry about one or 2 pimples.

Didn't help
I used just honey as a face wash for about a week. It made my skin feel good, but after the week I was getting small red blemishes on the skin around my nose, where I don't usually breakout at all. That was my sign this wasn't working for my skin, so I stopped.

Raw Honey
Raw Honey has masses of benefits for the skin, it's antibacterial and antimicrobial properties can be really beneficial to acne prone skin. I tend to use raw honey over regular store bought honey as it has not been heat treated or pasteurised so it contains more beneficial enzymes and nutrients. I will use raw honey as a mask or cleanser. As a mask I will leave it sitting on my skin for as long as possible anything from 5 minutes while I brush my teeth or a few hours at the weekend. I found that while adjusting to a 5% benzoyl peroxide treatment, raw honey was one of the only things that really nourished my dry, irritated skin. One downside is that, personally, it doesn't do that much to prevent active acne, but the soothing, moisturising, healing properties contribute to overall healthier skin and therefore less chance of breakouts over time.
