Pros:

makes skin softer, helps with redness, does not irritate my skin or cause further breakouts. has helped my acne alot.

Cons:

none

I started using this about 3 weeks ago, and I love it. I have tried pretty much every acne wash known by man, including proactiv, neutrogena, acnefree, EVERYTHING. Also, bp and salyclic acid does nothing for my acne other than make it worse. After trying everything, I finally bought Cetaphil, and I must say I am really glad that I did. I wash my face with this in the morning and my face does not get oily for the rest of the day. I also use it at night because my face tends to get very oily at night, but using this, I can rest assured that my skin will not be crazy oily when I wake up. Everyones skin is different, but for me and my skin, this stuff has worked wonders and I am so glad that I bought it.

Pros:

-Gentle
-Fragrance free
-Non-drying
-Doesn't deplete skin surfaces natural defences.

Cons:

-Unusual texture
-Not totally effective for removing make-up

Best cleanser ever. It feels weird on the skin but is super gentle. The most gentle cleanser I've ever used, less irritating than foam cleansers. If your acne is severe then I highly recommend this product. Purchased 3 bottles now, never stuck with a facial cleanser any longer. I Order it online because can't buy it in stores where I live. Expensive to have it mailed but its well worth it. Nothing beats this cleanser! Many cleansers try to sell you the idea that you can scrub away your acne. This is the biggest con in cosmetic advertising. I've bought hundreds of acne fighting cleansers. This cleanser has best assisted in the prevention of acne. No cleansers rid you of acne. So this is the best cleanser ever(that I've used)!

Pros:

- extremely gentle and non-irritating
- evens out skin tone and texture
- brightens skin tone
- non-comedogenic
- fragrance free
- free of soaps and harsh chemicals
- helps skin retain moisture
- soothes and softens skin, while making it healthy
- reduces and prevents acne and breakouts over time
- rinses easily
- it does not lather or strip skin of natural, needed oils and nutrients
- available is various sizes
- leaves skin clean and fresh

Cons:

- it is rather pricey, depending on where you purchase it; it is totally worth it though!

this stuff is simply amazing and nothing short of wonderful. it is very effective at significantly improving the look and feel of skin. i was a little iffy about the texture of the cleanser when i first started using it, but i warmed up to it after using it a few times. i love the way it makes my skin feel after rinsing and it greatly reduces acne over a period of time; be patient with it, it takes a good while to be completely effective, but it does work and it is by far the most amazing cleanser you could buy, in my opinion. i've used cetaphil's products for quite some time now, ever since my fiance unknowingly introduced it to me; i'd say about a year. but i just started using the gentle skin cleanser about a month ago and it has already worked wonders! i have oily skin and though it isn't oil-free, it is so gentle that is helps keep my skin's oil production under control, which is awesome. my skin felt and looked better than before after only the first use, with drastic results after about a week or two. i still get the occasional pimple or two once a month due to my period, but that's expected. my skin has definitely improved, thanks to this product and i highly recommend it to anyone who wants overall healthier skin. and it's great for all skin types; from the oiliest of the oily to the driest of the dry, and every skin type in between! :) i hope this review helps anyone that needs it, and i hope that the product works as well for you as it did for me, if you decide to purchase it! it's ten bucks well spent :)

very different but it DOES the job

Pros:

hydrates skin
no irritation
gets you healthy skin

Cons:

give it a week or two impatient people

Step 1. (If needed)Remove make-up properly with remover Step 2. (Optional) damp skin with luke warm or cool water Step 3. Apply cetaphil cleanser with clean hands gently rubbing in circular motion for no more than 1 minute Step 4. (Very important) with a cotton pad remove excess cleanser Step 5. Apply cetaphil daily moisturizer These steps have been KEY to helping my acne/scars. My acne isn't severe but it's NOT mild. I've tried clean and clear, proactive, aveno, mary kay, home remedies, ect. Since I was 13 I had acne and I used products that helped keep it under control but I've never known what it's like to have a clear face. I have combination skin and products I was using dried my skin out, making my skin produce more oils to lubricate itself, making my acne worse and giving me dry patches, which did not look great with makeup over it. The water we use already has chemicals that strip your natural oils and you really don't want to strip it more. I almost accepted that I wasn't ment to have clear skin. I found cetaphils three piece trial size for $10 which has pretty big bottles. A lot of my friends have it and their skin has a healthy look.that I want. Following those steps I noticed that my acne wasn't red/irritated and my skin didn't feel dry. Once you do step 4 you will be happy to see what it cleans but be amazed at how it doesn't dry your skin and doesn't irritate your acne more. It was different from what I'm use to but I had to try something/anything that would work, I did this twice a day for 1 month. I noticed a difference my first wash but I had almost clear skin by week 2(: . I finally can wake up look in the mirror and not worry about how my skin looks. I would definitely recommend this product and will FOREVER keep it as my regiment.

Cons:

Nuthin :]

I have combination skin but didnt know it till a while ago. I was fishing through the vanity cabinent when i found an old sample of my dads cetaphil. so i used it and wow!! my skin is calmed and soothed unlike when i used neutrogena(shudder) i woke up after using neutrogena naturals to a burning red face, and i was crying when i found this. Its like an epiphany for my skin.i was always wondering why salycylic acid and benyozl peroxide washes werent working for me. maybe simpler is better?? I love cetaphil and i plan on using it till i die. I will reccomend to everyone i meet...like a freaky infomercial Oo...well maybe not like that but anyhoo GO CETAPHIL!!!!

Pros:

Gentle
No fragrance
Smooths skin
Reduces redness

Cons:

Doesn't lather-not that big of a deal.

Although I've only been using this cleanser for a bout a week I've noticed that my skin is smoother and less red. I've used a lot of products and this is the only cleanser I've used that made the oil on my face disappear for basically all day. I've also noticed that the redness on my face is gone. I would definately recommend this to anyone with extremely oily skin and a lot of redness.

Pros:

Soap Free
Non-comedogenic
Gentle
Cheap

Cons:

It is a very gentle cleanser, therefore does not remove make up effectively in one wash. You need to wash your face twice, using the cleanser to remove all traces of make up.

I started to use this cleanser when I was using Duac and Differin topicals, which were extremely drying. I read the Cetaphil reviews on acne.org and decided to buy the gentle skin cleanser and the moisturising lotion. I love using the Cetaphil cleanser; it cleans and leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth. I also think it has helped stop further acne breakouts. I was using various brand spot washes, which I think stripped my skin, which caused my skin to produce more oil and breakout. My skin has now cleared up thanks to Duac, Differin and Cetaphil. I'm now using the Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser lotion twice a day and occasionally Differin at night to stop new breakouts. I also use a gentle no-alcohol toner (brand I use is Simple) after I use the cleanser to refresh and tone my skin. Cetaphil is made by Galderma which is the same brand that produces Differin, so it is a brand you can trust for dermatological excellence. The cleanser is relatively cheap, so it worth giving it a go and seeing if it works for you.
