No frills, cheap thrills.
I have been using this for about 2 weeks. Previously I was using Dove but I was finding it to be drying. I figured I would switch to a cream cleanser for a while. I tried Cerave (both foaming and hydrating) and both caused breakouts in places there was none before. I read that sometimes ceramides clog pores for some and so, I stopped using them and any thing else for a bit. I began using this because they sell travel sized bottles for 2 bucks at the local pharmacy. Being both broke and kinda ugly I thought what have I got to lose? So far, Ive only lost three dollars. Gains? soft, even toned skin that I get compliments on, wow that's thrilling, but it may be temporary. Will update in three weeks. I want to add as a disclaimer I am also using homemade Vit C Serum (I've been using it for three years, same recipe) and complex 15. ***UPDATE*** I stopped using this for a while because it was clogging me up. I started using it again because I am not a young person...i need to be gentle on my old face. What i discovered is that Cetaphil, when not using the double cleasne method does not really get hardcore sunscreen & concealer off-obviously both of which I wear. I use a makeup remover & wash with this & water or use the "dry method"with this first and then water & this. I found using oil for suncreen etc removal however, was strange because the Cetaphil doesn't wash off oil. There isn't much SLS in this that's for sure. I like it, Im gonna keep using it now that I know how,

Cleanses without stripping the skin!
Ive had mild acne for a couple years now and have purchased countless products to try and combat my breakouts. This cleanser is great for daily washing. I use it morning and night religiously. I dont think it does an awful lot to actually treat acne in any way, but does help to soothe and wash the skin from any dirt that gets built up throughout the day. Also ive found that it does remove oiliness from the skin however doesn't strip it entirely, which is really important when trying to fight acne. Furthermore, it hasnt caused me any severe breakouts or further irritation. Id recommend sticking with it and giving it an honest go!

i think its okay
By me having really bad skin. I constantly scratch my face a lot or try to pop the pimples instead. Which left ugly blackheads and black marks on my face. I lliterally hated the way I look but when using cetaphil it instantly made a glowing look and you can see how the acne or pimples go away or at least get way smaller

Good Product
I used to use this product everyday for a year as my morning and night facial cleanser... it didn't dry out my skin and got rid of any excess oils. I didn't really find that helped me (personally) to keep acne away; it simply kept what I had from getting worse. If you want to get rid of acne, I suggest using something else. However, as a daily wash to get rid of oil build up, this is a great product!

lovely face wash
I love that it has gentle ingredients and did not worsen my skin. It does what it is supposed to do and does not leave my face feeling tight or stripped. The faint smell reminds me of my medication I had as a young toddler for my breathing problems, not a bad thing though :). I just wish it didn't have SLS.

Did not cause any problems but..
Overall an ok product because it has only a few ingredients and I did not have a bad reaction to it but at the same time I did not feel like it cleaned very well so it's just ok.

A decent, reliable cleanser

Pros:

Clean (but not squeaky clean) ^^
Softens skin to some extent
Clears acne

Cons:

Contains SLS (only affects SLS-sensitive ppl)
May be drying depending on your skin/country's humidity
Does not foam/lather easily, you might apply excess by accident

Just for background info, I had mild - moderate acne that started when i reached puberty. I tried many products thus far(Sebamed, Dove) and they didn't seem to work well. Until I went to read online Amazon reviews, seen blogs and recommendations and discovered this gem of a cleanser. Your skin feels coated with a layer after washing. My acne has cleared up significantly and my skin feels smoother and less blemished! I have been tempted to try out Cerave cleanser too since its very similar to Cetaphil but I feel why change Cetaphil if it ain't spoilt xD It's not a complete miracle worker though. I know it isn't SLS-free but I've never been sensitive to SLS so I disregard its SLS content. Plus its pretty low in order according to ingredients list. Implies its content is not as concentrated as usual general store soaps. I live in a city where it's pretty humid all year round so this cleanser feels just right for my skin. However if you live in a less humid place, your skin may dry up(as mine did when I accidentally used too much) and you will have to apply moisturiser. Imho, given the right application procedures(lukewarm water to rinse, circular + gentle motions when applying cleanser + 1-2 weeks of patience), this cleanser can be one of the best you will have ever used!

Nice 'n' gentle but has some issues

Pros:

Non-overdrying
Fragrance and dye-free

Cons:

Harder to stay gentle when cleansing
Contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

This cleanser takes some getting used to. It doesn't feel like a typical cleanser and doesn't lather at all. Rather, it feels kinda like what water would feel like if it had a thicker viscosity. That's the best way I can describe it. You don't get that "ah, I've cleansed my skin" feeling. However, to adequately cleanse the skin, you don't need that feeling. As long as a cleanser has an effective cleansing ingredient in it (in this case Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), it will do the job of removing surface oils. Why they chose Sodium Lauryl Sulfate does confuse me a bit, however. It is the most irritating of the cleansing ingredients on the market. However, from the feel of this cleanser and how it does not over dry, I suspect they are using it in a conservative amount. My biggest problem with this cleanser is that the lack of lather makes it harder to glide your hands over your skin when cleansing, thus reducing irritation. I have to remain ultra aware of how hard I'm rubbing when using it. When treating acne, you want to remain as gentle as possible.

yayerz

Pros:

gentle
affordable
works pretty well with my diy regimen

Cons:

doesn't foam up
feels like it doesn't really cleanse my skin

it's so gentle that I don't feel that it cleanse my face. but it works well with my diy regimen ( while waiting for my order to arrive.) and there's this weird feeling when you just let the gel sit on your hand, like your blood isn't flowing in your hand but maybe it's just me hahaha. it works better than those harsh medicated foamy and very expensive type of cleansers in small bottles so thumbs up!

from moderate acne to light

Pros:

no fragrance
gentle on my skin
helped my acne

been using this product for two weeks. Its very gentle on my skin and I think my skin looks healthy now. It made my skin oily however it's tolerable. After washing my face using this product, i wait for about 30-45 min to apply a sulfur cream, because i have read on some blog that if your skin is still damp when your apply something, it will be irritated, when it's irritated, more acne will form.
