The only face wash that works for me!!!!
I'm a 20yr old female in college. I had mild/moderate acne but after having my mirena IUD removed and starting Yaz bcp I had the most severe and horrific break out. My face was bright red and every single pore on my face seemed like it was a clogged pustule (the most horrendous word to exist). Before this monster break out, I had I've literally every face wash you can buy at the drug store and multiple of the expensive ones you can buy at Sephora and many, many natural options. I have very, very sensitive skin (literally infant sensitivity) and it's very reactive and it loves to get bright red and hot. Before the break out I had never used cetaphil before because I didn't think it would be strong enough to clear things up. After the severe break out my face was in so much pain from inflammation and from the pustules (that sh*t hurts and is so sensitive like I have two tattoos and I honestly think having my face tattooed for a few hours would be more pleasant) that everything felt painful and harsh. Until I found this face wash!!! It feels so nice and calming and pleasant on my face. After I rinse it off my face doesn't feel tight or raw or dry, it feels just pleasant and happy and clean! I can even use this twice a day without upsetting my face! Miracle!

Pros:

No Smell
Easy to rinse
Inexpensive

Cons:

NOTHING

I used this for about a month now- It's literally the best product I've ever bought. I was skeptical because it doesn't "foam up" or make suds like many other products- you merely apply in circular motions and rinse! I've tried so many different regimes and now- I wake up and wash my face with cetaphil and then get on with my day. I don't even apply moistroiser anymore! At night I repeat the process! I literally use nothing else accept cetaphil! Honestly- just try it because its cheap enough that if you are unsatisfied you can move on to something else!

Pros:

Clears skin
So gentle
Reduces breakouts

Cons:

Nothing!

I ABSOLUTELY love cetaphil!!! I have used it for years and it is so gentle on my super sensititve skin. This is a must have. I use it twice a day and it defintely helps keep my skin clear. I don't use the cetaphil lotion though because it has oil so I use an oil-free, noncomdegenic mositurizer (Walgreens Brand) which I like so far.

Pros:

Gentle
Does a decent job cleansing
Smooths and soothes my skin

Cons:

Doesn't feel like it is cleaning
Feels like it is leaving a film on my skin

I love this cleanser! I don't know why I ever strayed. I left this cleanser at the beginning of the summer and a paid for it all summer. I tried using a different basic cleanser and it irritated my skin because of the detergents in it. This has a little bit, but not nearly as much as the other cleanser I was using. It may not feel like it is doing much, but after not using it anymore, I found out how much it does do for my skin. It smooths and takes care of the redness and just makes my skin look very healthy especially during the cold Minnesota winters! I would recommend this cleanser to anybody and be patient, it takes awhile to notice how much it does for your skin. Keep in mind if you wear makeup, you might need to use cleansing wipes before using this cleanser because it doesn't do the greatest job removing makeup, but it's not really supposed to.

Pros:

Gentle, non-irritating, not drying.

Cons:

Does not remove make-up well.

I prefer using gentle soaps instead of ones normally marketed towards acne-prone/oily skin. I find that those soaps just irritate my skin and cause more inflammation, making my acne even worse. This cleanser is very gentle and does not over-strip my face of natural lipid barrier.

Pros:

Cleans.
Doesn't leave skin dry.
Gets rid of the flakyness!!
Doesn't irritate skin.
No fragrences.
No alcohol.
Cheap.

Cons:

None!

I have sensitive skin, and with all the harsh topicals from the dermatologist, I COULDEN'T use a harsh cleanser. This is PERFECT for sensitive skin, and doesn't make my skin oily. Great!

Pros:

Cleans really well without stripping my skin. Leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

Cons:

None - I don't mind the non-foaming characteristic - foaming doesn't mean a product is working, it's just the result of a specific ingredient this doesn't have (sodium lauryl sulfate, I think.)

Excellent cleanser for those with or without acne. I want to point out that Cetaphil is a CLEANSER, and while derms recommend it to those with acne, Cetaphil is not designed to treat acne, and makes no claims that it will help with acne. Dermatologists recommend it because it is a very GENTLE cleanser, with no fragrance or unnecessary ingredients, so it is unlikely to exacerbate acne symptoms that way some other cleansers can. So... for those of you who say "it didn't work for me".... if it cleaned your face, it worked for you. Its purpose is not to make acne go away. It did help with my relatively mild acne, though. It's kept the moisture in my skin balanced, and I can clean several times a day to get rid of oil (I have extremely oily skin) and my skin doesn't end up stripped and dry.

In love with this product
I'm a beauty therapist and this has been recommend to me by a dermatologist and doctor. Most people say it causes them breakout but the truth is that you have used crap products that have striped and made your skin sensitive and this balances it out it may take a little while but it is worth it. I recommend to all my clients on a daily basis
