Pros:

AMAZING PRODUCT! I never really had skin problems but all of a sudden i developed deep, painful pimples that wouldn't go away and were starting to scar my fair skin so I went to the derm & he gave me a sample and within a few days my skin cleared up and i know longer had cysts under my skin. i have not had a pimple since i used it. AMAZING!

Cons:

A bit drying so I would only put it on at night.

Amazing product that worked right away. Would recommend it to anyone!

Pros:

Worked for a week, didn't break me out at the beginning like most acne creams/gels. A 60g tube lasts about 6 months.

Cons:

Made my skin very oily, takes up to 3 months to start working.

I mostly have blackheads, & small whiteheads every now & then. I have gone through stages of acne since I was in 4th grade to now (20yrs old) so I have moderate scaring. I have used everything from OTC washes&creams to prescribed pills, gels &washes. My doctor gave me Ziana &said it could take 3 months for it to start working. The good thing was it didn't break me out worse when i started using it. The bad thing was it didn't help me either. After exactly 3 months of use I went back to the dermo, it didn't make a difference at all except make my skin VERY oily. Another thing is if my doctor didn't give me a card to pay $30 for a tube it would have cost around $350! One 60g tube probably lasts 6 months or more though. Even though this didn't work for me doesn't mean it isn't going to work for you. I learned over the years the most important thing is to keep using your meds for as long as prescribed, 2 weeks of dry skin red skin is better then being broken. suck it up and stick with it.

Pros:

Takes care of acne and it's easy to use

Cons:

Skin becomes very dry
Stay away from liquid foundation, skin becomes dry that the foundation doesnt look good.

I was originally prescribed Adoxa and Ziana together. I hate swallowing pills so Adoxa didnt work out for me but I continued to just use Ziana. Bottom line is that this product is a miracle worker! I never had an initial bad breakout. Ive had this stubborn moderate acne for years...especially on my chin. This product made the most persisant acne disappear. Im hoping with time some of the scaring will go down, but I can actually go out without make up now! AMAZING...girls you know how annoying it is to spend 20 mins applying makeup just to conceal all of your blemishes..and constantly looking in the mirror throughout the day to check on your makeup coverage. This product has taken away the stress of having acne. You have to try it for atleast 2 months. At about 7 weeks my skin was CLEAR. I get an occasion break out now and again, but it's tiny and doesn't bother me at all. People are even noticing how glowing my skin is now.The only downside is that even if you use a little of this product it still dries the skin. Ive even had dry eyelids...pretty weird. Just get some Eucerin Hand Cream and dab a little bit onto the dry part of your face and it will keep your skin hydrated all day. It hasn't cloged my pores either or caused more breakouts. Go get Ziana, totally happy I use this product. If you have body acne, dont forget to put ziana on it at night also.

Pros:

it worked for me
my insurance brought the cost down to only $20
only needed to apply once per day

Cons:

made skin dry if I didn't moisturize properly

I started getting acne after I stopped using birth control pills. In the matter of 2 months my hormonal acne quickly went from mild do moderately severe. I went to the dermatologist and I started using Ziana in December of 2010 and April 2011 my skin was completely clear with the exception of hyperpigmentation marks from precious acne. By May 2011 my skin was completely clear and hyperpigment-free. My regimen consisted of the following: -AM- Cerave cleanser & pat dry Duac gel all over face Murad skin perfecting lotion -PM- Cerave cleanser & pat dry Ziana gel all over face Cerave PM facial moisturizing lotion **I also had 2 chemical peels performed at my dermatologists office during the first 6 weeks of my treatment. These were TERRIBLE and made my skin much worse. My doctor then suggested I have a pulsed light/heat energy therapy treatment. I had two sessions of this and noticed great improvement after each one. **Occasionally I would use the Proactive refining mask as a spot treatment over night after my Cerave lotion if I had large pimple coming on. **Occasionally I would use CVS brand 10% benzoyl peroxide acne spot gel in the AM after my Murad lotion if I had a cluster of small pimples. I followed this regimen religiously for 5 months and my stubborn acne that I thought would never go away was finally gone. Also, even though it is not recommended my dermatologists, I think that being in the sun during the month of May really helped to fade my hyperpigmentation spots. I originally thought they only appeared faded because I got a sun tan but now that my tan has faded quite a bit it is obvious that the marks have indeed faded as well.

Pros:

This stuff has cleared up my skin significantly. This is a follow up post. I posted when I had been using this for about a month. Since then, my skin has improved so much more! My skin has never felt this smooth, ever!

Cons:

It took a while for me to get full results. My skin got worse before it got better. It can be expensive if you don't have insurance, but when I think about how much money I was blowing on OTC/dept. store products, it evens out!

This stuff works for most people. My skin did get worse before it got better, but I knew that going into it. Now it is such a relief not to have horrible skin. I still have some scars, but my skin is smooth and I don't have to cake on makeup before I leave the house! Just to reiterate what I and others have said: ONLY USE A PEA SIZE AMOUNT AND WEAR SUNSCREEN. I can remember standing at the Clinique counter buying makeup, and the makeup lady saying to me, "You know you should wash your face twice a day and your acne will get better." I just started crying. I knew I spent more time caring for my skin than she did, and she had no idea how horrible she was making me feel. I don't have to worry about that now!!! I am so glad I was prescribed this product.

Pros:

cleared up my acne extremely well

Cons:

costly if you do not have insurance
makes skin sensitive
can be sticky if you do not mix it with a moisturizer when you put it on

I have had acne for about five years. My acne started to get really bad (hurt to touch anywhere on my face)about a year ago, so I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed this. It got better immediately. Now, a year later my skin keeps getting clearer and clearer every month!

Finally makeup free!
I am 25 years old and have always had acne. At age 12 I started proactive and that was able to keep my acne to a minimum but still I was never completely clear. My acne was never horrible, but I always had 1-3 active zits along my chin/ jawline (sometimes cystic) and a few on my temples and forehead. After I got new insurance that didn't require a refer to go to a derm I finally decided to see one. He prescribed me Aczone in the am and Ziana in the pm. I was very cautious at first--I started using a gentle cleanser and bought cereve pm moisturizer since I had read reviews that my skin would get extremely dry. The first couple nights my skin got a bit red and itchy from Ziana but after night 3 that totally stopped. I also didn't find that it made my skin sticky or oily at ALL. However the cerave pm moisturizer DID, so after about 2 weeks I discontinued use of that and did not need a night moisturizer. There was a purging stage---weeks 2-4 I saw an increase in active acne in my hot spots (chin and jawline) with 2 cystic zits. But even though I had about 4-5 active zits, they would disappear quickly before others would pop up. Of course any purge is going to suck but i promise if you stick to it you will be so happy. It took about a month for everything to totally clear up, and now I am 2 months in and my face has been PERFECT. I have not seen even one zit for an entire month. My face is so clear that I don't need any makeup at all. My hyper pigmentation from past acne is slowly fading but that will require a bit more time. I am so happy with the results of these 2 products! Also, just FYI I do not have sensitive skin so all of that redness/dryness/pealing/ sun sensitivity did not happen to me at all. If anything my skin is actually perfectly hydrated since the proactive was drying out certain spots, now those are gone!

Pros:

blackheads & whiteheads gone
works fast!
doesn't dry out skin
makes skin smooth
no adverse reactions with sun/UV rays

Cons:

none as of yet

I just turned 22 years old and have been battling pimples, acne, whiteheads, black heads - you name it, since puberty. I've seen dermatologists since I was 12 and tried a million different things, and nothing has worked until I tried Ziana. This is A MIRACLE. Seriously, I've never had such amazing results in so little time - 2 weeks and for so little money - ZERO dollars! I wish this stuff had come out ten years ago and maybe I wouldn't have been much more confident about my appearance in high school and college. I recommend this to anyone, heck I'll even be their spokeswoman!

Amazing!
When I was around 18 my skin became extremely sensitive and I got a lot of white heads and small pimples daily. It wasn't so bad but it was just all over my cheeks and easily coverable but I could never leave the house without makeup. I went through that for about two years and finally decided to go to the dermatologist. She prescribed me Ziana and I started using every other day before I went to bed for the first three weeks and then after that every night. The first month or so it calmed my existing white heads but I noticed a few new ones. It wasn't as bad as many others have experienced but I did get pimples (bigger ones than when I wasn't on the medication) but they would go away quickly. I also noticed they scarred darker than my acne in the past. I also noticed by face burned a bit when I washed it or when I went to the gym and sweat because the medication does make it sensitive for the first couple of months. I also did experience some minor flaking and peeling. I've now been using it for about 6 months and I've never seen my face so clear! It cleared up all the marks, and I haven't got any acne for the last month. The only annoying part is that around my chin it still flakes a bit (but that can be fixed easily with lotion) and my t-zone is a little oily (which was never the case before). But in my opinion those things can be fixed so easily and I love my skin now. I would definitely recommend this for anyone!! I have mild-medium acne and It definitely worked wonders for me.

Starts working within 1-3 weeks
Invisible, doesn't smell

Cons:

none

>be 30 year old guy. Struggled with cystic acne so much and for so long that I even went off the deep end and turned my diet upside down and took Vitamin A pills like some people in the forums. Decided to break down and go to a new dermatologist though I was fearing she would give me the nuclear option: accutane. To my surprise (she was attractive), and secondly she didn't recommend accutane at all. Instead she said my cystic acne should be helped by Ziana. She also told me to wipe the silly coconut oil off my face to eat like a normal human - though I choose to avoid diary wherever possible. 2 weeks into it I could feel and see a difference. My face felt softer. I feel like almost immediately upon using that the cystic acne didn't hurt as much but disappeared at their normal slow pace. Once gone, I didn't get another one. I used to get 1 per week - and sometimes as much as 4 at a time. I would gladly pay $500 per tube of Ziana - luckily insurance prevents me paying more than $20. I love this stuff and I would brush my teeth with if it wasn't frowned upon by the warnings inside the packaging.
