Pros:

Works quickly ( afer approx a few weeks use )
Easy to apply and unscented

Cons:

Can cause a little dryness and itching on sensitive skin

This stuff is pretty good. I have suffered from moderate / severe acne on my face for several years now and have tried many antibiotics and topical lotions. None of these worked. Eventually i went onto Roaccutane which although worked, was a little over the top and powerful. Since my acne broke out acne I though I would give Duac a go. After only 2-3 weeks use I am already starting to see some progress.

Fantastic product, the only thing that works for me. Unfortunately there has been a manufacturing problem with this product for some time & I have been unable to procure it recently because all the chemists I have contacted are out of stock. I did try a Benzoyl Peroxide Gel & a Clindamycin ointment instead but it was not effective, don't understand why. Is anyone having the same problem in purchasing it, or perhaps know somewhere still selling it or a good alternative? Kind regards

Pros:

- Gets rid of them little stubborn flesh coloured spots I have on my forehead
- When you feel a painful volcano about to form on your face it reduces it to nothing before it forms and errupts!
- Clears the redness from the spots
- Day by day minimises spots to nothing and you see the results everyday

Cons:

- I've read a lot of reviews on this product and of most people complaining that it dries their face? It didn't really do that to my skin and I do NOT have oily skin its more dry everywhere except my nose, it just kept my skin feeling soft and matte.
- Erm for some you could count the tingly feeling I get after I put the cream on my face as a con? Maybe

I rememberd the times I stayed awake on this web page looking at millions of reviews on millions of different products which have failed me continuously. I've never written a review and this is my 1st so I hope it helps! So I started getting REALLY horrendous acne 2 years ago, and I know some people exaggerate but in my case I had my family and friends telling me how bad my skin has gotten and how I look like a pizza face. First I had them all over the sides of my face, horrible puss filed spots that pained my face when I touched them and on my cheeks but everytime one went away another 2 popped up in the same area. Like a hero it didn't help that I popped & scratched them off, which they left horrible scars that were highlighted on my asian skin tone. So I started using products, clean and clear, garnier & lots of neautrogena products which I always thought they were making my skin better but never really got rid of the spots. I then decided to go to the docs who put me on Doxycycline in Jan which gave me COMPLETE flawless skin, but by April it slowly came back, & EVERYWHERE with a vengence including my forehead which never ever had a single spot! So I took 200mg instead of 100mg which made it better for a month then it came back but was hundreds of little spots everywhere. So I ordered Carleys smooth n clear from the US (for a natural long term treatment) and last week I went to the docs for a quick fix while my order is being shipped and he gave me Duac alongside the usual doxycycline. So on Mon I got Duac and its now Friday. Its mostly cleared me up within a space of 5 days. After reading all the reviews I thought it would take a couple of months, I really didn't expect it to work! My tiny flesh coloured tiny spots that are only seen in the light are minimising to nothing aswell! I had 2 big spots, 1s gone and 1s halved in size. I'm going to continue until my face is 100% clear it is 75% now, then I'm going swirch to Carleys as a long term n

Pros:

- Fairly effective within about first six months of use
- Works well against cystic facial acne (75% clear)
- Works okay against whiteheads (50% clear)

Cons:

- Does not treat blackheads (0% clear)
- Does not prevent new acne, only treats existing acne
- Resistance to clindamycin develops past a year of use, rendering the product totally ineffective
- Bleaches fabric and skin

At its best, Benzaclin took me from moderate/moderately severe down to mild acne. At its worst, it did absolutely nothing. It is worth noting most that I was never 100% clear, i.e. no cysts or open/closed comedones, while using Benzaclin; it always left me with some form of acne. I used it for over a year until the bacteria in my skin developed complete resistance to clindamycin. At that point, I wanted a solution to the cause of my acne instead of a product that just treated symptoms, so I obtained a prescription for tretinoin.

Good at first then stops working and worse than before
This product initially worked for me, like a lot of other people on this thread. I used it for 3 months and was very happy at first, although I also experienced blotchiness and some redness that I didn't have before. I would say the first month or so the clearing was the greatest then I started noticing new breakouts popping up here and there. By the end of 3 months, I was pretty much as bad as I was at the beginning so I stopped. What I noticed when I stopped was that my skin had been continually irritated, not just zits but red and I had a really slight itch. I don't know how to explain it other than it wasn't normal. When I stopped my skin went back to 'normal', I guess normal for me. Still lots of spots but not irritated. Bad news is that once I stopped my skin got even worse and I had the worst acne I have ever had. It was really depressing but I was convinced that this stuff isn't for me since in the end, it didn't really help my skin. I went for a facial and the estetician (sp?) recommended Ninja skincare to me. I hadn't heard of it before but googled it, read loads of reviews on it and really none were bad so I called them. Their customer service was really incredible. I spoke with a woman for nearly an hour about my skin, she gave me a list of products she would recommend for me and I was an idiot and didn't write them down. When I made my order, I guess I ordered the wrong products for my skin so they held my order and told me they didn't want me to order the wrong stuff and have it not work. So we changed it back to the right stuff, I got it like a month ago. It is wonderful. I have never been so happy with my skin, with a product line. Every day my skin is getting better and I just couldn't be more thrilled with the results. After years of trying everything, I am happy to have finally found a product that works for me. I know duac has worked for a lot of people but I would be curious how many of them have had long term results? It didn't work for me ' but I guess some people have had some success.

Amazing!!! Only thing that works!

Pros:

Works quickly and results don't wear off
Gets rid of 95% of spots
Reduces oily skin (if you have it)

Cons:

Bleaches towels/clothes
Can dry out your skin if you have sensitive/dry skin

I've had acne since I was about 11, and this product has been the only thing that has cleared up 95% of it to what my skin is like today. I have previously tried everything: Panoxyl 10% Wash, Isotretinoin Gel, Zineryt, Limocycline, Quinoderm and none of them have gotten rid of my spots completely! I was fed up with trying all of these products that didn't work, until I went to my doctor. They asked me if I wanted to try benzoyl peroxide one last time and then take something orally, but I decided to try benzoyl peroxide again as it had been the only thing in the past that had actually MADE A DIFFERENCE, despite the fact that it dried out my skin and bleached my clothes and towels. Just a little background information: I have quite oily skin, and I am prone to whiteheads, blackheads and the occasional nodule on my forehead, sides of my cheeks and chin. I was prescribed about two months ago Duac Once Daily to use in the evening once a day, and Isotretinoin Gel to use in the morning (this wasn't necessary but just in case). My skin was really bad before I got my prescription, but when I started using the Duac my face cleared up SO QUICKLY! Within the first few weeks, most of my spots were going and my face was becoming less oily! One month later, and literally up to 98% of my spots had gone and my skin wasn't oily anymore - I was even getting COMPLIMENTS on my skin, for the first time in my life!!! I can't believe it, coming from me who has oily skin which I hated but is now under control with the right face wash and moisturizer. I don't even use the Isotretinoin Gel, just Duac still once a day every day and it works wonders! It is the only thing that has truly worked for me, I'm recommending it to all of my friends! If you use "natural" products like tea tree oil and are reluctant to use so called "chemicals" like this on your face, PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE! Natural stuff will not have as quick, reliable and thorough results as this! Natural stuff only works if you have like 3 spots on your face, you HAVE to use some kind of chemicals! *I have gone from having around 50 spots on my face to about 5!!! That is how amazing this is* However, there are a few downsides. One, this WILL bleach fabrics. Make sure to wash your hands after you apply the product to stop it bleaching things you touch, and dry your hands on an OLD TOWEL. ***MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN OLD TOWEL THAT YOU DON'T MIND GETTING BLEACHED TO DRY YOUR FACE/HANDS ON, AS DUAC WILL BLEACH FABRICS*** So please be careful - it will bleach towels even if you only touch them once. Also, if you have dry/sensitive skin this may be a little harsh for you so use it sparingly, however since I had oily and not sensitive skin I was fine with using quite a lot as it made my skin go from oily >> normal, not normal >> dry. So yeah, I 100% RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!! IT WORKED WONDERS FOR ME WITH QUICK RESULTS!!! I cannot tell you how amazing this is if you have moderate acne.

Pros:

-Within weeks your acne will go down dramatically
-Not time consuming to use
-One bottle lasts you 7-8 months if you use it rationally (very small dabs on select areas).
-$25 with insurance for me
-My skin adapted to the initial extreme dryness and now I don't even need lotion (been using it for four years now)

Cons:

-Takes a couple weeks to really start working
-EXTREME dryness and stinging during the first weeks-months of usage, ESPECIALLY during winter months. Apply lotion as necessary.
-After prolonged use (1+ year), it will start to lose its effectiveness. Where at one point you may have been 100% acne free using the product, it will plateau you into 75% acne free. If you stop using it altogether you WILL get all of your acne back, so keep using it.

I've used this for four years now, from the beginning of high school to now the beginning of college. It has truly helped my self esteem so much that I don't really need to care about what little acne I have left. When I started using the product my forehead was like a minefield. Since the first few months I've been using it, my forehead has been smooth as silk. However, as I aged my cheeks and now my upper neck started becoming prone to acne. This product does keep the acne in those spots to a minimum but it has a hard time clearing it away completely. Nevertheless I still use it religiously. It must be noted that it is very possible for your skin to overcome the dryness after prolonged usage (years) so much that you won't even need lotion when you are using the product, even during winter months.
