Pros:

- Gets rid of them little stubborn flesh coloured spots I have on my forehead
- When you feel a painful volcano about to form on your face it reduces it to nothing before it forms and errupts!
- Clears the redness from the spots
- Day by day minimises spots to nothing and you see the results everyday

Cons:

- I've read a lot of reviews on this product and of most people complaining that it dries their face? It didn't really do that to my skin and I do NOT have oily skin its more dry everywhere except my nose, it just kept my skin feeling soft and matte.
- Erm for some you could count the tingly feeling I get after I put the cream on my face as a con? Maybe

I rememberd the times I stayed awake on this web page looking at millions of reviews on millions of different products which have failed me continuously. I've never written a review and this is my 1st so I hope it helps! So I started getting REALLY horrendous acne 2 years ago, and I know some people exaggerate but in my case I had my family and friends telling me how bad my skin has gotten and how I look like a pizza face. First I had them all over the sides of my face, horrible puss filed spots that pained my face when I touched them and on my cheeks but everytime one went away another 2 popped up in the same area. Like a hero it didn't help that I popped & scratched them off, which they left horrible scars that were highlighted on my asian skin tone. So I started using products, clean and clear, garnier & lots of neautrogena products which I always thought they were making my skin better but never really got rid of the spots. I then decided to go to the docs who put me on Doxycycline in Jan which gave me COMPLETE flawless skin, but by April it slowly came back, & EVERYWHERE with a vengence including my forehead which never ever had a single spot! So I took 200mg instead of 100mg which made it better for a month then it came back but was hundreds of little spots everywhere. So I ordered Carleys smooth n clear from the US (for a natural long term treatment) and last week I went to the docs for a quick fix while my order is being shipped and he gave me Duac alongside the usual doxycycline. So on Mon I got Duac and its now Friday. Its mostly cleared me up within a space of 5 days. After reading all the reviews I thought it would take a couple of months, I really didn't expect it to work! My tiny flesh coloured tiny spots that are only seen in the light are minimising to nothing aswell! I had 2 big spots, 1s gone and 1s halved in size. I'm going to continue until my face is 100% clear it is 75% now, then I'm going swirch to Carleys as a long term n

Amazing!!! Only thing that works!

Pros:

Works quickly and results don't wear off
Gets rid of 95% of spots
Reduces oily skin (if you have it)

Cons:

Bleaches towels/clothes
Can dry out your skin if you have sensitive/dry skin

I've had acne since I was about 11, and this product has been the only thing that has cleared up 95% of it to what my skin is like today. I have previously tried everything: Panoxyl 10% Wash, Isotretinoin Gel, Zineryt, Limocycline, Quinoderm and none of them have gotten rid of my spots completely! I was fed up with trying all of these products that didn't work, until I went to my doctor. They asked me if I wanted to try benzoyl peroxide one last time and then take something orally, but I decided to try benzoyl peroxide again as it had been the only thing in the past that had actually MADE A DIFFERENCE, despite the fact that it dried out my skin and bleached my clothes and towels. Just a little background information: I have quite oily skin, and I am prone to whiteheads, blackheads and the occasional nodule on my forehead, sides of my cheeks and chin. I was prescribed about two months ago Duac Once Daily to use in the evening once a day, and Isotretinoin Gel to use in the morning (this wasn't necessary but just in case). My skin was really bad before I got my prescription, but when I started using the Duac my face cleared up SO QUICKLY! Within the first few weeks, most of my spots were going and my face was becoming less oily! One month later, and literally up to 98% of my spots had gone and my skin wasn't oily anymore - I was even getting COMPLIMENTS on my skin, for the first time in my life!!! I can't believe it, coming from me who has oily skin which I hated but is now under control with the right face wash and moisturizer. I don't even use the Isotretinoin Gel, just Duac still once a day every day and it works wonders! It is the only thing that has truly worked for me, I'm recommending it to all of my friends! If you use "natural" products like tea tree oil and are reluctant to use so called "chemicals" like this on your face, PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE! Natural stuff will not have as quick, reliable and thorough results as this! Natural stuff only works if you have like 3 spots on your face, you HAVE to use some kind of chemicals! *I have gone from having around 50 spots on my face to about 5!!! That is how amazing this is* However, there are a few downsides. One, this WILL bleach fabrics. Make sure to wash your hands after you apply the product to stop it bleaching things you touch, and dry your hands on an OLD TOWEL. ***MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN OLD TOWEL THAT YOU DON'T MIND GETTING BLEACHED TO DRY YOUR FACE/HANDS ON, AS DUAC WILL BLEACH FABRICS*** So please be careful - it will bleach towels even if you only touch them once. Also, if you have dry/sensitive skin this may be a little harsh for you so use it sparingly, however since I had oily and not sensitive skin I was fine with using quite a lot as it made my skin go from oily >> normal, not normal >> dry. So yeah, I 100% RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!! IT WORKED WONDERS FOR ME WITH QUICK RESULTS!!! I cannot tell you how amazing this is if you have moderate acne.

Pros:

very effective for my facial acne.

Cons:

Smells bad, bleaches fabrics, which made it impossible to use on my back, where I need it the most. I can only apply it when I am at home, can't go out in public because it dries white - can't wear it under makeup - can't apply it unless I'm wearing clothing I don't care about because it will bleach.

I use it as a very effective spot treatment. I combine it with alpha hydrox sometimes to prevent a small pimple from getting any bigger...and it always works.

Pros:

-Best topical for clearing up acne EVER.
-cleared up small forehead bumps as well as whiteheads on my cheeks and big inflamed pimples.
-helps oily skin

Cons:

You need a very good mosturizer.

This REALLY works!!! Cleared up my skin 99% when paired with doxycycline. Your skin will be crusty at first (and I'm oily) so you'll need an awesome moisturizer. The only problem is the more mosturizer I used, the less effective benzaclin was.when mosturizing, focus on your dry areas like around your mouth, chin, eyebrows, etc. I REALLY like the Beauty Without Cruelty oil-free mosturizer because it doesn't sting or leave your skin oily. Make sure you moisturize AFTER you use the benzaclin and not before. If you're really desperate to find a cheap moisturizer, try Neotrogena Sensitive skin oil-free. It takes away the crustyness and doesn't sting, but it leaves an oily residue. Cetaphil and CeraVe don't work with benzaclin, and tend to give you pin-sized whiteheads. Good luck!

Pros:

Cleared me up :)
Nonirritating

Cons:

Somewhat drying
Pills under *some* makeup

Many people on here had a bad reaction to this. The reality of acne medicines is everything works differently on everyone. Just because something burned your face into smithereens doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. When you use any face product, you are taking a risk. If you put it all over your face and you have a bad reaction -- I'm sorry and I've been there -- but it's your, not your Derm. or the product's, fault. ALWAYS test a product on a small part of your face when using any product. With that out of the way, onto my experience. I'm almost 16 and have had acne since 10 or 11. It wasn't until my freshman year that it got bad. I mean really, really bad. Moderately severe -- cysts, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads --- the whole deal. I've tried everything under the sun and this was the only thing that cleared me up and I'm ecstatic. I had begun to lose hope. I still have a few small zits and the occasional cyst, but it's nothing to what I had and I'm very content with my face. The only things that still bother me are blackheads and scarring. My routine is this: Morning- 1.Wash face with Adovia Dead Sea Mud Soap 2. Apply Cetaphil moisturizer (sometimes with Aloe Vera Gel) Night- 1. Use Pond's Cold Cream to remove eye makeup 2. Wash face and remove foundation with Adovia Soap 3. Apply Cetaphil moisturizer 4. Apply Duac (Ps. My Derm. gave me a box full of samples and I have not yet purchased the product. I have enough samples to last me several months.)

Pros:

Magically clears acne in a few days!

Controls oil

Cons:

Price
Needing to get a prescription for each new tube is a hassle
Needs to be stored in the fridge (although I must admit I often forget to put it back and it still works fine?!)

I have had acne for almost 10 years and out of all the millions of products I have tried this one is the only one worth noting. It LITERALLY clears my skin like magic like I will go from hideous break out to almost completely clear skin within a week of using this it is amazing! It does cause slight drying and irritation but in kind of a satisfying way (as weird as that sounds) because you can see and feel it demolishing all of the acne and potential acne on your skin and as the dry layer washes away you are left with fresh new clear skin! I cannot stress enough how effective this stuff is- I actually suspect it is magic.

Pros:

gets rid of acne
reduces excess oil

Cons:

expensive!
can cause over drying if you don't properly moisturize

I started getting acne after I stopped using birth control pills. In the matter of 2 months my hormonal acne quickly went from mild do moderately severe. I went to the dermatologist and I started using Duac in December of 2010 and April 2011 my skin was completely clear with the exception of hyperpigmentation marks from previous acne. By May 2011 my skin was completely clear and hyperpigment-free. My regimen consisted of the following: -AM- Cerave cleanser & pat dry Duac gel all over face Murad skin perfecting lotion -PM- Cerave cleanser & pat dry Ziana gel all over face Cerave PM facial moisturizing lotion **I also had 2 chemical peels performed at my dermatologists office during the first 6 weeks of my treatment. These were TERRIBLE and made my skin much worse. My doctor then suggested I have a pulsed light/heat energy therapy treatment. I had two sessions of this and noticed great improvement after each one. **Occasionally I would use the Proactive refining mask as a spot treatment over night after my Cerave lotion if I had large pimple coming on. **Occasionally I would use CVS brand 10% benzoyl peroxide acne spot gel in the AM after my Murad lotion if I had a cluster of small pimples. I followed this regimen religiously for 5 months and my stubborn acne that I thought would never go away was finally gone. Also, even though it is not recommended my dermatologists, I think that being in the sun during the month of May really helped to fade my hyperpigmentation spots. I originally thought they only appeared faded because I got a sun tan but now that my tan has faded quite a bit it is obvious that the marks have indeed faded as well.
